  1. He won't play 46 games next season and that's probably how we'll set up in a fair few matches away, plus probably the top 4-6 teams. If we play that system we need a good outlet for the counter attack, or else we're doomed.
  2. Think you're spot on. There was obviously a power struggle behind the scenes at Ewood, and JDT and GB lost.
  3. If they rate him below Ennis then we're prepping for League 1.
  4. He just signed a new one in November: https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/november/28/sammie-nets-new-long-term-deal-/
  5. League positions with him as an instrumental part of our side: 2013/14: 8th, 18 apps (signed in January '14) 2014/15: 9th, 38 apps 2015/16: 15th 35 apps 2016/17: 22nd (relegated), 42 apps 2017/18: 2nd (promoted), 24 apps 2018/19: 15th: 21 apps Regression
  6. Game of opinions. I agree with the workrate and attitude bit, just think he was eventually in what was a forgetful and poor team. Even watched him live in one of the dullest matches I have ever seen versus Hull City in 2016 and thought he had a real stinker. Far from the only player I don't rate from that period.
  7. Hyam looks a lot older than 28 the way he's moving around the pitch. Might be carrying something that restricts his mobility, or he has to work harder on his agility. I'd try and get rid of him this summer, and give Fadz another season on decent terms. WHAT A GAME though. We looked calm enough and the pace of play was sedate enough for me not to have a heart attack. But when Pears made THAT save I think my heart skipped a beat or two, and from there until Szmods scored, I was biting finger nails. Big relief after a depressing season. Sad to think that this might have been Szmodics last match for us, and that other big guns might snatch up another gem for peanuts in Finneran. Kudos to Eustace for getting his troops in line, but we will need more strings to play on come next season. Pretty depressing if it's 25/75 possession every match I'd say. Can't believe how low rating you guys gave Gallagher btw. Won almost all his aeriel duels in this one. Should ask Faes what he thinks about him. Great game in a poor season from him.
  8. If Hull have to cut back on spending I would push the boat out for Noah Ohio. Looks a good prospect, and has the attributes we've been lacking. Liam Delap reminds a little bit of Gallagher, some weird decision-making going on there. Chrisene, yes please. Wouldn't mind McFadz either. Need a RB if JRC wants to play in the middle. Johansson from Rotherham as first choice GK. I would offload Buckley, Hyam, Wahlstedt, Markanday, Dolan and Gallagher. Need to build a stronger squad and I don't see enough consistency from those players to warrant a place in it.
  9. Ruddy is a poor keeper. We should look to sign someone better.
  10. Oooof no. He was really really poor, no attributes at all. Would slow up play all the time and didn't have a very good delivery.
  11. Have watched them play so my post was based on that. They're clear favourites nonetheless.
  12. I am not convinced by Hull. Norwich I hope will do their part to ensure their spot and try and avoid sixth.
  13. They have the chance of getting to 100 points. No downside and they can play as freely as they would like without any real pressure. I think we have to stick with the same side, maybe give Ayari a start for JRC if we want a better ball-carrier in the middle of the park.
  14. I don't believe for a second Leicester will be taking it easy against us. We need some luck like we had against Leeds away, but our best hope is that the three teams below us on the table don't do their part.
  15. We can't afford to sack him. Spend whatever little funds we have on a GK and a striker and pray for the best.
  16. That's why it's called development. I think Moran will assess his time here with Brighton and probably go out on another Championship loan next season. Ayari as well, but might go overseas. Branthwaite wasn't any good here, but look at him now.
  17. Because Leeds have beaten them twice already this season and beat Leicester twice as well.
  18. I think Hull will win at Plymouth and Norwich get a point versus Birmingham. Sheff W in form so might well survive.
  19. Our match before this one was against Sheff W. where we put in a shit performance, yet the only change Eustace made was a forced one; today's MoTM McFadzean for Wharton. He did the same after our beating in Bristol and fielded the same side versus Leeds and while it was a performance full of fight, we were a bit lucky not to concede. With that said I think the effort was there today, just feel as if the quality is lacking and we've become so reliant on Smods.
  20. I agree, but he's never set the world alight in CM for us. His best performances have come at RWB so think he flatters to deceive a lot of the time. When he continued in the same way as versus Owls, I would've subbed him on for the more dynamic Ayari. Ayari had a point to prove against Coventry too, it's just that Eustace forgot about it when preparing for t he game....
  21. Think Norwich will want to avoid Leeds in the double-header.
  22. JRC appears to have lost his while injured as well. One-touches 'passes' randomly and has been really poor the past two matches. Would prefer Ayari starting over him atm. Never thought I'd be crying out for Hedges but we're so slow and predictable it hurts to watch. This squad needs some heavy investment.
  23. He said striker.
  24. A bit of karma for Wharton as well. He had a very nasty challenge on Vaulks when they scored their second, think he only avoided a card as it lead to a goal for them. When he got injured, it was a stonewall pen, if their attacker had gone down. And another yellow. He's been decent as of late, but over the last couple of seasons hasn't looked the part. Lower Championship calibre unfortunately.
