  1. I think if Alebiosu gets called up to AFCON then we'll shift more of our attacking focus over to the left and play Miller at RWB. The problem right now is with Carter out, we will struggle to play three at the back unless we recall O'Riordan. We shouldn't be dreaming of the play-offs, but with 3 points against Ipswich and our 'luck balance' on neutral, we would've been darn close at this point. Hope the players step up to the occasion tomorrow, it's a big game and absolutely vital to send Eustace back with zero points.
  2. It's a one off shirt. Our 125 year anniversary shirt was blue and white halves, I don't see the problem in going all white if that was how our history started. As for the badge, I won't get into that one 😄
  3. He's been good all season but usually he breaks down once he peaks, but he seldom plays the full 90 and has healthy competition for his place in de Neve now. Was surprised when he got benched, but his issues with his end product are still ongoing 🙂
  4. It'll be around £120+ total to get one shipped over here.
  5. Unfair play by Bristol City when Toth got injured. Really poor form.
  6. The home side were always going to come out hard after the break. An excellent win for us and thought we stood the game out well with little to no help from the referee who got worse and worse by the minute. A few key players missing for the match on Saturday, thought Tronstad was excellent before he was let down by Miller and got his yellow. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant run of form! Really good goal as well. Gueye looks heavier than before, or am I seeing things?
  7. Just watch Arsenal once and you'll see how any team can benefit from some real set pieces training. Saw a stat before this round regarding Arsenal: Goals from: Set pieces - 1st in the league Penalties - 2nd in the league Goals from open play - 17th in the league Table position - 1st It's a big part of the modern game. I hope they get rid of the long throws by adjusting the rules before next season.
  8. I think he enjoys being a nuisance, problem is he gets booked too soon. By no means a great player but I think he'll come good.
  9. He's said as much himself, that he's not the best footballer but I think if he learns not to be stupid aggressive, and gets used to the league, he'll be a useful squad player. We'll see...
  10. Henriksson is fan favourite material, just needs to tone down his aggression a tad to avoid getting booked so early. I see him as a type of player that once he starts scoring he will bang in quite a few - I predicted a goal and a yellow from him today, unfortunately only the latter I was 100% sure about 😄
  11. Top drawer stuff that second goal. Amazing. Deserved win, Toth kept us in the game when he had to with one of the saves of the season. Hope we can gain some momentum now.
  12. Why is Matt Derbyshire playing? Get the 94/95 squad back, or as many as we can from the 125 year anniversary: Blackburn: Friedel, Curtis, Bjornebye, Carsley, Short, Berg, Johnson, Hignett, M. Hughes, Dunn, Jansen. Subs: McAteer, Filan, Ostenstad, Dailly, Thomas.
  13. Do you think they'll sell it online or just a limited number on the day like the 125th one? I was thinking of travelling over for the game (bringing along my 7 year-old son) but looking less and less likely.
  14. I agree, but sooner or later everyone enters a point of no return and I think Ismael is getting close...
  15. I know it's probably unwise to say so in public, as he did with Tavares as well, but once you're given a chance as a substitute then at least put some effort in and play the was you've been instructed. Gueye hasn't played with any intensity at all and Tavares who is more worried about looking dandy-ish than making it as a footballer. Sure it's difficult to come into a team that's disjointed and not looking like it's going to come back into the games, but at least show the fans and the manager that you're trying.
  16. I actually don't think that's our biggest issue, but it's certainly starting to become a factor now as well. I can see that McLoughlin is barking at his teammates, and Tronstad has looked quite unhappy in a few of our earlier matches as well. Kargo got a telling off after he went 10 yards offside on Hedges' flick-on, so this is a real test for the team spirit and Ismael looks more and more deflated for each day. We should've scored more in the first but also almost conceded two from set-pieces right before Ohashi scored, a goal that was more a fluke with de Neve trying to score and not crossing. Then in the second half we looked winded, Henriksson I thought ran out of steam after the first half and should've been replaced a lot earlier after going back to back matches in the Championship. Gardner-Hickman also went AWOL for the second half and everyone panicked as soon as the ball entered their feet - and that's when we have to rely on a bench that isn't up to standards... something that's glaringly obvious that it isn't, and the reason why Ismael is so reluctant to make the substitutions. This squad needs serious investment in January and just wonder if we will try and loan players despite Ismael being against it as a stop-gap solution, or if we'll actually spend some dough.
  17. Both de Neve and Henriksson look like hard workers but just not enough for this league. de Neve had a good game and has had some good cameos off the bench lately, but we need a bit of composure in the final third and he's not the answer either - neither is Hedges although he's had a good season so far (which is quite telling tbh). Going to bed, knew we would lose again, but had to watch.
  18. What's a much more pressing matter is the first team is a total shambles at the moment. Have we signed a CEO yet? How many fewer people are in the backroom staff now compared to under Eustace, JDT and/or Mowbray?
  19. Can't get my head around Hedges and Kargbo upfront.
  20. Not now. We've had some good prospects come out of it and sold for decent amounts past few seasons.
  21. Horrible at set pieces. Good first half, but completely switched off for the second. Baffling substitutions... lose against Southampton and it's time to go, Ismael. Not sure what anyone can get out of this squad though, to be honest. Not many goals in them. 150 years...
