Let's wait and see but we only have to to take a quick glance at our player recruitment strategy and it will probably be similar for this position. Promising manager on lower wages over proven manager on higher wages.
-
We're in a position to attract a good name for the job, so we should take advantage of that. Lowe will be here again at a later stage if the new coach fails.
-
And things change quickly in football. New names pop up, others are crossed off the list. Almost unbelievable that Eustace left us for Derby.
-
JDT was linked to the Sweden job for a good while and ultimately they paid for his release so they had some time to plan for his replacement, yes. I don't mind us taking our time, just hope it's not a bargain auction to see who can go lower. Hopefully before next week eh?
-
He'll aim higher than us. He's by no means a fool.
-
Do you think Makhtar and Ohashi would understand his accent? 😂
-
A head coach should be able to choose his own assistant.
-
Would lof Duffer back. Get him on a £17m release clause too, for when Chelsea sacks Maresca.
-
If someone has bagged the Rovers job, then they won't hold out for the Boro job because the list of potential candidates is even bigger there as it's a more attractive job at the moment. Hopefully an announcement before the game next weekend against Swansea then, with Lowe and co. taking the team for that match as well.

I wonder how much tactical adjustments will be done. Eustace has found a good recipe for grinding out results but we often struggle in matches like yesterday where we enjoy more of the possession and dictate the game. A coach/manager like Martin would probably make changes instantly and I think we would struggle to adapt. I'm a little torn, sticking with Lowe might give us more of the same as under Eustace, whereas the right appointment might evolve us to something even better - especially now as the squad is starting to look a bit stronger again.
-
Only one of them has succeeded as manager.
-
Yes, but I believe times are a bit different and that's where the comparison between Dalglish and Gerrard ends as well. RIght?

Didn't like that starting eleven. And we were passing it too much sideways and struggling to break them down until Forshaw scored that 'fluke' goal. Good win in the end and great for Dolan to grab a goal, also nice for Forshaw to win it against his old team. -
Gerrard is a big no thank you for me. Not proven anything so far and probably relient on others to do his coaching for him. Someone with 9 posts claiming Duffer has been interviewed. Yeah, sure......
-
Martin is one to avoid in my book. Overrated deluxe.
-
Rob Edwards probably most realistic out of the higher profile names being linked. Likely that he wasn't on daft wages at Luton, while O'Neil I would imagine collected a bigger paycheck at Wolves. Out of the two I prefer O'Neil. Would love Damien Duff here, but only if he's given full support. Don't think the timing is right for that one at the moment.
-
Looked like he had no bottle towards the end, but was an almost impossible task as Wolves had been selling off assets heavily in the past few windows. I'd take him over most of the other names mentioned so far.
-
Pride Park looked half empty in midweek so they don't fill the stadium every match. Poor team so no wonder. Edit: I see they have 25k+ average so more than us.
-
Terzic? Yeahhhh.....
-
And an excellent player for us this season. Has stood out and almost played every minute. Rock solid.
-
He will most likely get the chance to gain promotion back to League One and then another crack at the Championship. Not too much risk in it for him, he must've thought he came to the end of the road with Rovers and it was mostly downhill from here. We have hardly picked up points in 2025 so maybe it was better with a change.
-
Let's get this baby to 500 pages before an announcement is made!
-
As long as they're compensated 🙂 Thanks for a good year, Eustace. Time to move on and build on the foundations set by him and his crew.
-
I don't think nationality has anything to do with it, but they have to get the right character in - of course. Won't be able to work wonders, so just keep the morale high and prepare the team well tactically and you never know.

Lowe was a lot more active than I had expected. Damien Johnson seems to be more quiet and observant, whereas Lowe was barking instructions. We need to strengthen the coaching staff anyway and they are already great in their roles.
