Considering we had an option to buy Zeefuik there must be some funds available. There could also be a deal in place for Brereton pending we sign the right replacements. Hopefully they’ll figure out the letter’s future soon so we can get on one way or the other.

Botheim is best mates with Haaland so that would help. Must be on good wages and his agent probably quite busy talking to clubs atm. Not entirely convinced about him myself but does tick a lot of boxes.

Looks like Malmö signed Birmancevic for €1m so probably looking for €2.5m would be my guess. Signing players who know how to succeed will aid the rest of the group.

Both him and Nyambe were mismanaged but Rothwell came good towards the end of his spell, yet didn't produce the enough goals and assists for me. Pulse will be racing when he's run from deep though, so not easy to have the necessary composure when he gets the chances. They way we played for bigger parts of the season was no easy task for our central midfield. Not easy to offer support when we hit teams on the break with the pace of Khadra and Breo. We'll definitely see more of the ball under JDT.

Hedges belongs in a struggling Championship side, that shouldn’t be us.

Not if Mowbray had lined up Twine or a couple of other solid names. We would have failed to reach the play-offs with or without Rothwell, so the MB meltdown was bound to happen in both scenarios. I think the new management will soon find out that it's a tough task to bring in the players they want when they see what we can offer in fees and basic wages. My only hope is that we sort potential recruits in different brackets, with 'marquee signings' being one of them, making us able to push the boat out for certain type of players with the potential resale value taken into account.

I hope we're having a look at Kiwi international midfielder Joe Bell who plays for Brøndby. He's on a long contract after signing from Norwegian side VIking in January and would probably cost a fair bit, but he's a real prospect. Broughton would certainly know of him, and he should be no stranger to JDT either.

Seeing as we're not really replacing players who leave for a fee, it's hard to see how we all of a sudden would be able to replace like for like (or better) players who leave for nothing. Rothwell was a goner in any case, but Nyambe especially at 24 I think it's criminal although I don't know what his agent has been demanding on his behalf. I have no hard feelings towards him as he was grossly mis-managed by Mowbray for large parts of the past five years, whereas captain Lenihan making a sideways move angers me a bit more. I can never fault him for his effort or attitude, but I would have stripped him of the armband a long time ago if I was managing the side.

The £4m or so that Mowbray accepted for Rothwell should be made available for a replacement. Then you have the Arma money… If the model is to make money off academy products then we just missed out on two of them. Give Nyambe and Lenihan new deals in Jan them blame the new manager when selling them in the summer. No business sense imo.
