  1. Come off it. We're not signing Braithwaite.
  2. It was no more than a reality check. We'll know the answer once the window slams shut.
  3. Says me. We have failed to retain the services of three mainstays, while succeeding to renew the contracts of Kaminski and Travis. We can attract a few youngsters who are looking for a step up, but as I see things we're behind in the pecking order due to current wage structure.
  4. We won’t attract any top players with the current wage structure in place.
  5. That’s a big blow. Still only 24. What a mess…couldn’t we just have spent the Zeefuik money towards a new contract for Nyambe instead?
  6. In hindsight we didn't pay over the odds for him. Hopefully no more than 10%.
  7. Berget is not really a winger. I'd say he's a versatile attacking midfielder. Good on the ball, knows where the goal stands. Not the quickest or strongest. He was at Udinese earlier in his career as well, so talented but known to be a bit of a Bohemian.
  8. That would work because Dack is such an intelligent footballer. My biggest grief with Gallagher is that he very seldom chooses the easy pass but constantly runs himself into trouble. He has many attributes to make him a good striker at this level, and will probably benefit from JDT being a former (intelligent) striker himself.
  9. I don’t think we can fork out £4m for a player. We need to strengthen several positions. Twine would be a statement early doors though. Hull have their new Turkish owner and Burnley PL parachute money so can’t see us competing with that.
  10. Crazy. Armstrong has his faults but is a totally different animal.
  11. Fingers crossed, great player with still room for growth.
  12. We should look for £20m for BBD. Some daft money being thrown around in the Premier League and he's a real player. Don't rate Dolan that much, and at £3m I think he's easily replaceable.
  13. From here anything we see from Dack is a bonus. He turns 29 this year, has had a serious knee injury in each knee. No way should we plan/build a team around him. From the little we saw of him at the tail-end of last season he isn't ready to get stuck in, looked cautious on the turn - but was still one of our main goal threats.
  14. They just triggered a clause, so they will receive a fee either way. Cantwell will have a lot more to play for if it's a loan rather than a permanent deal.
  15. Cantwell would be a shrewd signing. Didn't impress at Bournemouth and they opted out of the £11m option. With one year left of his deal I don't understand why we don't just try and sign him permanently - must be on daft wages. Loan him and potentially sign him permanently if we go up, or let him leave elsewhere (or on worse terms) if him and we don't perform well enough. Just speculating...
  16. Of course he's anxious, who wouldn't be?
  17. Pickering was our second worst performer after coming back from injury, second to the super cameo false no. 9 Mr. Bradley Johnson. He's got a decent left peg but physically weak, positionally not the best and lacks pace for a modern fullback/wingback. Pedersen is strong and versatile but a bit old fashioned - no real pace on him either.
  18. Then he should sign a new two-year deal. I think he understands the situation.
  19. Bjørkan good call, very good offensively and can be given freedom to operate if in the team with Nyambe. Zinckernagel had a great season for Forest and on very good wages most likely. Botheim definitely on high wages. Possibly on hit wonder. Kristian Pedersen from Birmingham who has been mention here is a player I’ve always been impressed by, but mostly because he’s been rock solid defensively and not by his attacking. Can also be utilised as a CB. Jasper Junker could be worth a punt, doesn’t seem to get much game time in J1 league.
  20. JDT will have his say on transfers, and together with Broughton they will figure out which areas to address. How they want the team to play, and what kind of key attributes is needed for that particular brand of football. Then Broughton will introduce a different model to before when trying to sign players based on the likes of Liverpool (who he’s a known fan of), Brentford and Glimt. I’m curious to see if we’ll see some changes pretty soon in the scouting department, but hopefully JDT and Broughton will already have some suggestions in different scenarios - mainly if BBD stays or goes. There’s also a drawn up list from the previous management that I’m sure they’ll have a look at.
  21. Fantastic prospect who can run all day.
  22. Gallagher is worth more to us than £1m. £2.5m okay… play him in the correct position and in the right matches and he’s a handful.
