  1. A shame that Ayala couldn't start. A massive weakened eleven when JRC starts instead. WBA are there for the taking, can't believe we're still playing Buckley upfront after watching the last couple of (ineffective) games with the same setup. Put Sam in the middle and Khadra on for Buckley, or drop JRC and let Bucko play RWB. Need to make changes before we have to chase the game, Tony.
  2. Hedges for Zeefuik was an all or nothing move almost at the death. Other than that it was like for like in terms of formation. Sam was subbed on just when Lenihan was sent off, so naturally there will be a little bit of confusion at that moment. Still, we were the better team in the second half. Buckley's missed two sitters now, that's the difference between us losing and still sitting in second. It's also the difference that would take his game to the next level.
  3. Didn't look unsettled tonight, ran his socks off.
  4. We started poorly and Forest deserved to take the lead. Thought our match against Swansea was proof enough that Buckley shouldn't start upfront. We fought well tonight, makes it especially disappointing that our captain gets himself sent off like that. We can moan as much as we'd like about the ref, but I've seen worse.
  5. Mindboggling. If Gallagher doesn't grab goals from this service level I don't know who will in this team...
  6. Giles with a solid debut though.
  7. I don't understand why were we crossing so often with no striker in the team? Buckley upfront isn't the solution but Tony's hands were tied today I guess.
  8. Shortest player in the Championship scores a header against us. Chances fell to the wrong players. We don't have the key to unlocking defenses so trailing early it was always going to be an uphill struggle - even more so against ten men as Swansea were so deep. Poor, too many (forced) changes from what has been our recipe for success. What was the JRC sub about? No composure whatsoever.
  9. It was from a 'pure fan' perspective only. I understand there's a bigger picture here, and what it would mean for us financially to win promotion.
  10. As long as we keep playing like we do, bleed youngsters into the team, and there's some excitement around the place I'm not too fuzzed where we are. All the money in the Premier League has killed a lot of the joy from it for me, the Championship is more classic English football without VAR and games coming thick and fast. Of course I'd take a place in the Premier League but I'm a happy Rover anyhow.
  11. We've got to protect the downside here as well. I think Fulham are out of reach, and Bournemouth have just outspent almost the rest of the division combined, so how could we possibly compete with that? QPR look a dangerous side now, but I think we can beat any team in this division. Mowbray has more options now, he can play the same system with more defensively sound players or he can choose to go gung-ho. What worries me about that is when he's had a larger squad to deal with prior, he's had a tendency to overthink things and make some odd choices like always letting Bennett play. Let's see where we are in a month's time when we've faced Swansea (good match for us), Forest (improved since our first encounter), WBA (good match for us), Millwall, Sheffield United and QPR. Hopefully come April 30 we can celebrate automatic promotion at Ewood Park after beating Bournemouth!
  12. Sam can and should absolutely reach double figures. Rothwell easily should have score more, Buckley too. Looking at the season so far, of course we rely on BBD’s goals, but it’s up to the rest of the team to split the goals between them whenever he’s missing. I believe the quality is there.
  13. I see no reason why we shouldn't continue to stay solid defensively. As long as the defensive relations stay intact, we won't concede many goals in my view. Chances are they'll improve further going forward than suddenly start to ship more goals. Ayala can fill in when called upon too and the quality will be the same, Zeefuik for Nyambe is probably like for like, while we have missed Pickering while out with injury. Kaminski has to stay fit though, him and Travis are vital to our team atm. Can't expect BBD to score the same amount of goals, no, but I don't think he'll stop scoring either. Khadra will chip in with a few, Rothwell and Sam can reach double figures, while Buckley should get a few as well.
  14. After Pickering and now Edun out with injury, Mowbray has done well to bring in three left-footed players in Markanday, Hedges and Giles. It will create more angles going forward. Our back three look rock solid with a natural left-footed player playing on the left side there as well, with the least ball playing centre half in van Hecke in the middle. Giles will provide assists on the break, and can also beat a man and cross from the byline. Hedges has a bit of experience and will be a sub for Khadra to begin with I think. Zeefuik is also high-intensity and will fit in well with our style of play. If Gallagher can improve his link-up play and pass instead of running into jams we have a lot of options going forward. Weak spot after the window is depth in centre midfield but perhaps Giles can fill in for Rothwell if needed? Dack should be under no pressure to return anytime soon, and I think they'll gel him back into the team slowly with a few minutes here and there at least until March.
  15. Butterworth joins Cod army and we’re left with nothing but Gills?
  16. Brighton signing the to scorer in the Belgias league for peanuts (£6m). Is that your guy @Revidge Blue?
  17. 10% finders fee for Arma then...
  18. Davenport must be on good wages since he's staying, or we can't get a midfielder over the line. Little money for fees and wages, but at least we'll get to see some more academy players given a chance by the looks of things.
  19. Waggott taking the photos and doing the media himself
  20. Same as last year, Sharpe and Crooke called it early and were right. Some versatile players been brought in, but would have liked a CM.
  21. If there ever was a worst case scenario then this is it.
