Brittain just came back from Injury may not be 100% let's get all the answers after the game. Or maybe tactical and he spotted something he believes Dolan can exploit ahead of Brittain? -
I think at the end of the day Southgate knows his team, the issue of loyalty is good and bad i think people forget he does make the tough decision when he need too, as i see Maguire situation very similar to Dier situation at the last tournament. Dier has played his way back into the team. I actually feel we look stronger as a squad than the last tournament. Personally the chat of Tomori is pre-mature everyone is raving about him but i am sure few have seen him play. I would like to see the following line up against Iran. As for AA i like but out of form and James defends better the last think we need in a leaky defence is someone who doesn't defend. -----------------Pickford---------------- James--Dier--Stones--Shaw --------Rice----Bellingham-------- Saka----------Foden-----Sterling --------------Kane------------- Edit: it is what i wish we do but i know Southgate will probably do 523 but I think Foden is better down the middle
-
Yes but you just said they were in form for their club? Based off what you just wrote here you are saying that they are not in form. So which is it are they or are they not in form? Figures and stats show the later
-
How Mount no goals or assist, Chilwell doesn't even play, Grealish done nothing this season and he openly admited he hasn't performed, Dier agreed
-
Walker and Sterling shouldn’t start at allowing though at all!
-
Problem with that are the under performing players: mount chillwell grealish dier should he is only good in a back 3
-
For me Southgate is the right man for this tournament but he needs to ditch old alliances. Currently the line up needs to be. ————————Pickford—————————- James—Tomori—Stones—Trippier ——————Rice——————Bellingham AA——————Foden—————Sancho ————————Kane————————

Would rather a Bowyer Shirt with "Right Good Go" written on the back. 😛 Mate I understand the frustration, and yes to me mid table would still represent an okay season nothing exceptional. We have lost way too many players for a squad reform and finds its balance. I personally believe next season is the chance to really have a strong go, we have the foundations to build something special. The young players will have 30+ game under their belts, Travis, Bucko, Wharton will develop further and I would far more confidence in the team. I appreciate you taking the time writing everything back and I will admit you did make me chuckle on some of the answer (I mean that in a positive way, not taking the piss way) I would argue they are serious about promotion because we did get promoted in the last 10 years and we kept the squad together to take a financial hit to get back up, so they have proved under the right environment money does flow in. Not necessarily the amount we would like but it does come in. I Personally do believe in projects and long terms visions and having a philosophy which you can build upon and bring the right players in across several windows is vital to be able to do that. I never said you can't use the word promotion, I just believe the expectation of promotion this year is totally unrealistic. Having a fan where people pull together is important and yes you are entitled to your own opinion as do I it is what makes football so entertaining hell you and I are writing chaptered answers to one another which i am enjoying! To summarise: with regards to point 1 I never said you were entitled I just believe the expectation is too high given the quality of the squad we have. Point 2) Is taking out of context 1 sentence as a summary of my whole response. Point 3) Agreed, so far the squad hasn't learned how to react to those situation but they tend to show they rebound well, but I agree with you this is something they need to develop but like anything in development it needs time. Part 4) i would argue to early to discuss quality of the signings some have barely played so i can't comment on how great of a signing Hirst until half the season once again needs time to evaluate. Part 5) answered above Part 6) Always an easy thing to throw in the 90's! -

Once again taking out of context, you say that the team hasn’t shown anything to prove we are pushing for promotion, we are 7th!!! We are in the dam mix of clubs fighting for the play off so my comment about Top or nothing proves exactly that. It proves you are willing to throw your toy out of pram. Go pick them up and calm down, you are judging our entire season on 10 games I mean Jesus Christ taking the cups into account JDT is a far higher win ratio to Mowbray if you want to compare and contrast a whole performance after 10 games. you are saying the club is happY with mediocrity, show me how you know this? Have you been on the board? Have you heard them say ahhhh guys let’s stay here for the next 15 years and chill. No you haven’t, inconsistencies happen in a dam season we are not the invincible’s. I have been to the two most horrendous away games being Luton and Reading so trust me I know first what it is to watch rubbish. Am I going to cry about it? No, I move on to the next game and expect a reaction. If we win we are back in the top six again. Give the man a chance see after half a season where are at, if you throw some toys I will order them for you To chuck out. i what point did I say I didn’t want to win? Of course but judging by your comment and dreaming if you expect us to win the EPL and roll over Man City. This is 2022 not 1990’s and I totally respect and understand the history of our club, where it should be but by no means just because of our history we deserve to be in the EPL of course i hope We get back up but we have had a good start to the season when many predicted we wouldn’t let’s see where it goes a season is not 2 months long -

What excuses?! I just said the squad needs protecting and you are saying that is an excuse. There could be an eclipse tomorrow and if the moon didn’t cover whole sun I am sure you would spend the day arguing it should have done better 🤣. You picked one sentence from my whole text? Do I need to go through the squad age as to each player who has played? You are acting like we have a mature team filled of mid 20’s players. Not excuse but mentally You are dealing with humans they are going to make errors and they are going to develop, are we going to be the finished product after 3 months with a new manager no. Not excuse just basic logical thinking that I imagine most people with common sense would relatively agree with -

I truly think it is a sad time when you read some of the comments on this board around expectation and demands based off our history and where we perceive ourselves deserving to be in the premier league. perosnally I do not give a dam about the EPL because I actually enjoy the championship and the competitiveness it present compare fo other leagues in the world. Do I want us to go up of course I but comparing JDT comment and attitude to Mowbray is absolutely ridiculous. First of all these are two completely different projects. Yes I used the word project something we shouldn’t be afraid of using. Mowbray job was to rebuild and stabilise and like or not he did exactly that. JDT job develop young players and aim for the top end of the championship. From an average age perspective we have the youngest squad in the league. Not a rocket scientist but what has traditionally transpired with young squads is inconsistency. Furthermore to say he wasn’t backed is also rubbish as we are one of the few clubs thst have a positive net spend. Is JDT expected to be first and win every single game this season no. I myself totally understand the frustration I was at the Reading game and the Luton it is a horror, but it isn’t something that cannot be fixed. The team to me looks strong, the issue is the space between midfield and defence and lack of protection the midfield offer to the defence and control to slow it down. give the lad some time to say they are worrying signs there Is normal in any dam season, i would actually be worried if I was Boro! But hey ho we are 7th I would take that right now given the games we have a played. Last comment I read was about JDT not setting expectation, this is of course to protect the young team and remove pressure off them. Of course the club has targets imagine telling a 17 year old Philips bro it is first or nothing now go have a good game. We need to protect these young players and give them time. Diaz is an example, Arma another Buckley another we are on to something with these academy players let’s give them a shot and see where it takes us -

We purchased an RB being Brittain and fast wingers we have Mackanday and Dolan, not sure why we would want to flood an area we already have bodies in. LB agreed though! -

I actually Rate Dykes but I don't see the point if we have Gallagher who i rate higher. Would rather we stick Gallagher in that position and sign a Left back and Midfielder. -

Would be a sad day to see Diaz go especially after the journey we have been on with him the last couple of years. Delighted for him and his story is a wonderful one. Fair play to Rovers to say we have accumulated 30m in transfer sales across 2 players in 2 windows shows we are a good that knows how to develop individual talent and give them the platform to express their talent. The money generated from this is vital. To me the defense at least at CB hasn't been my fear I think one addition will do. I do feel with Diaz gone it is now the chance to Dolan/Makanday to step up and fill the whole that will be very evident on the left hand side. To me, we need to add in a striker, creative midfielder, a LB, and Left wing before the end of the window. Lots of work to do but if we can grab in a Styles, Heilik, Birmancevik, Healy I would consider that a good day at the office 🙂 -

What a tough and exciting transfer window this will be. Not necessarily for the signings but the drama that is accumulating around the club due to the lack of signing. The Club has a huge 8 days left. To be honest, I think i feel like the midfield and attack is crying out for help. To me with SVDB coming in i wouldn't want another CB with Carter, Philips ,Ayala, Wharton there. It would start to look quite crowded and i actually rate all those CB. I would love to see us add some creative flair to the midfield someone to take the pressure off Buckley. We do need a winger so that we can play Gallagher up front. Would love Styles in and have Edun moved to midfield. -

Lyon support myself Denayer mentioned he wanted to go to a serie a team to experience it Italy rule him out, as fans we are not playing football manager. Denayer is more likely to more to qatar or Saudi for the dollars than come to us -

I 100% agree with you Glen. I remain optimistic and very ouch agree with the term journey. I really don’t expect us to push on this season and push with promotion as we are so far away from that at this current moment in time. In truth our only creative player is Buckley but we need someone else in the squad who can unlock teams with that vital pass. Moment of creativity. I feel we are lacking 4 bodies in the team it is fine to bring through academy players and add value but it needs to be done progressively and not just in one. Am I worried as to where we are at? No simply because to me a good season is finishing mid table this year and building towards a challenge on the top side of the league in a year or two once we have a more stable and settled squad which currently we don’t have. -

That’s how I interpreted it seems like anything is mentioned about Dack and this forum goes into meltdown. I would add when we won 4 games in a row the same people who are saying he should be getting games are the same one who said his career is over with us when we were winning. Changing directions quicker than a boomerang
