  1. Good wages and a big signing on fee for 6 months of failure in Spain and now, at least for a while, playing in the PL and scoring. Not too shabby work if you can get it
  2. I do not expect us to win many aerial battles in this game and our defence will be aerially challenged throughout. Let's hope that our set piece coach is paying attention because if I know how they play he should.
  3. We are much better footballers and play prettier football outside of both penalty areas. They are bigger, more physical and more direct but not adverse to cocking up trying to play out. We could do a Cambridge on them quite easily, they could win by a goal or 2. It depends on who's up for it on the day. It will be a draw, a televised replay at a packed full of scousers stale Coffee Cup Stadium beckons.
  4. Passing out from the back we played ourselves into trouble twice, and fortunately got away with it, before we then scored thanks to Huddersfield. We scored after about just 8 minutes! They scored from a corner due to atrocious defending and we continued to gift gilt edge chances. On another day we could have been hammered.
  5. Looks a lot like Will Boyle the Hollywood CB who got a red card today v Newport after just 18 minutes. His crime - he tackles like he dances. No appeal necessary unless Hollywood want to waste their time and money, it was let's say a bit agricultural Newport 1 v Hollywood 0, as always the EFL have extended highlights of Hollywood on YouTube.
  6. Goal keeper coach, set pieces coach, positional and tactical coach to oncoming subs and never a player having joined Carlisle as tea boy straight from school. It's obvious. He's being "coached" to be our next manager. He's been around Ewood longer than the furniture, knows where the skeleton cupboard is and has the key and most importantly he's bloody cheap. I just don't know if his agent supports Middlesbrough.
  7. Hyam was much better and Pears saved us plus Hudds should have scored 2 more but for their pathetic finishing. Oh! Semir did show a bit of pace, once.
  8. Penalty. Shirt pull and hold and the defender arranged a trip
  9. Those set pieces are often from situations caused by our loss of possession in our final 3rd, I include free kicks, corners and long throw ins. You are quite correct about the individual battles. This is very obvious with virtually any ball launched into our box where confusion reigns.
  10. We are also losing possession in our defending 3rd of the pitch too much this season, it happens every single game.
  11. I see Henderson has bailed out after making a quick financial killing in Saudi. No doubt having signed a NDA. He's so full of crap but in the Dutch league, at best Championship level overall, he might cope. I hope Southgate has chucked his phone number in the bin.
  12. Our defensive issues stem from the way we try to play out from the back and it's adverse effect on overall confidence. That plus the keeper issues which are incurable with the current players. The tippy tappy can be cured simply stop trying something you're not very good at.
  13. It is essential that we get max points possible in our next 3 league games which are all at home. They are followed by 3 difficult away games against decent opposition. We are at a watershed moment. I am more than worried @Herbie6590 thanks for posting the radio link. Insightful from all.
  14. We should actually win this cup game but will struggle by the time we play them in the league, within the next couple of years.
  15. CIty Football Group have interests in 12 clubs, spread around the world. They could set up their own world league. I can only try to imagine the "trading" opportunities and it's good that they are so open and honest.............
  16. This is getting irritating. I have an aversion to plastic.
  17. Sheep Shearer
  18. Insightfully spot on. Pep's career has always been about Pep.
  19. That makes his signing more likely, especially if it's recurring
  20. Our defenders play with keepers they do not trust and try a style of football to which they are not really suited. And then we call them out for being shite. It's just as well pay is good in a job that's a hiding to nothing.
  21. If we stay above Sheff W we will survive. They have out performed us, as in more points, over the past 15 games and over the past 4. The longest and shortest form guide I could find. 5 more points than us over the past 4 games. They are also one of the most physical teams of those just above and below us.
  22. Some good goals with loads of defensive errors. I'm working my way through it. I doubt it includes any of last night's replays but they are separately available on YouTube.
