Swag will just up and leave out of the blue into retirement bliss. Be it this summer or possibly next. His job is to keep doing what he is doing and try and avoid getting a hard time from the fans doing it. There’s no-one pushing for a long term plan at Ewood as the person who should be doing that knows he isn’t going to be around to implement it.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

What worries me about the 3 year contract is that if things do go seriously pear-shaped it makes it even less likely we will get rid. My guess is that as far as managers pay goes, we were offering a very low amount but trying to attract with a longer contract. -

Get over it and stop the crying like several others on here. He instilled a togetherness, but that wasn’t being reciprocated by the club who refused to discuss contracts with the players, with Eustace or stick to their word with regards to investment and bringing players in. Key back room staff are coming in then leaving within months. In that scenario, why should Eustace see out the remaining 16 months of his contract in an environment where relationships with those above are straining (like JDT) and his reputation is probably only going to decline due to lack of support (see Forshaw for Baker). He’s not. He’s going to take the sensible option for himself, for both for his mental well-being (not having to work with and clash with liars), his financial well-being (better wage and longer contract) and his future career (under these owners it’s only one way for him and his reputation at Ewood). But you, and several others, think he should ignore that and continue putting up with Suhail, Waggot and co because you feel let down. You’re problem Chaddy is you believe everything anyone says who you regard as ‘official’, whether it’s Eustace, Waggot, Nixon or whoever. If you lived in the real world you would know that for all the talk of togetherness Eustace was unhappy behind the scenes. It was hinted at on here for months by posters. And you would know that no manager is going to come on live tv and say “yeah I’ve spoken speaking to Derby and if everything is agreed I should be off tomorrow”. The problem now is you have to find an angle to slate the ex-employee and not the club, so you are more mad at Eustace for his interview before the wolves game rather than Suhail and Waggot for letting another over-achieving manager walk out the door because of the rotten state of the club off the pitch. -

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Hasta replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
For me he looked a bad appointment on paper. Him and Karanka were my two definite no’s from when they were linked. Therefore I’m not surprised questions are being asked so early after no wins. Remember we were told that being in the top 6 and a chance for instant glory was a big selling point of the job. Therefore when we finish 10th or similar I don’t want it dressed up as “yeah but what did you expect”. Ultimately Eustace was let down by no quality being brought in, and ending January weaker in midfield than we started it. Ismael now has to play the same hand (albeit he has Travis and Tronstadt fit). It’s Waggot, Suhails and the owners fault Eustace isn’t here and ultimately their fault if we go backwards from here. VI would be just an effect of those three. -

Albeit without Travis, Ohashi and Tronstadt available. Like with JDT his worst run came during the worst spell of injuries and a non-event of a transfer window to help out. I was always hoping that once we got the proper midfield back we would go back to more like the pre-Christmas form. -

Dogshit. What’s Karanka up to? -
Gally again. 2-2

Reread the post you quoted please. Just saves me typing it out again in reply.

Reading, Crawley, Walsall and Grimsby fans who are no longer going to bother going to the match as it's been moved. 🤷♂️

Yeah, yeah ,deflective self-centred waffle. But it was Sky that wanted more games and the only way the clubs would get more money was accepting their proposal. Therefore both Sky TV and the clubs are to blame for inconveniencing fans this much.
-
The clubs accepted the shit show but they didn't create it. It was the clubs who wanted more money. It was Sky Sports that wanted EFL fixtures on Thursday and Friday nights and don't care with their picks which fans are inconvenienced. So they are both to blame. What don't you get?
-
That doesn’t make it right. What am I meant to do, plan my calendar for Friday nights only 4 weeks in advance at this stage of the season. It means I’ve bought a season ticket and it’s another game I’ve been fucked over for. Still, at least rovers have used the extra money to pay fat cat Waggots increased salary and bonus.

I can’t easily. It’s a group thing. We will have a meal booked after and then a minibus coming back.

Oh fuck off. Announced about 4 hours after I bought Aintree tickets for the 4th.

I was going to quote but you beat me to it, we ultimately competed well but couldn't break down what is an exceptional resolute defence. And they managed to take the one chance that came along. It's hardly bottling it. Similar story last time we played them at Ewood. JDT bottled the Turf game. -
Plymouth have the biggest problem. 25 of their 30 points have come at home. However they've still got Sheff United, Leeds and an in-form Coventry to come to Home Park. Most of the games left against bottom half sides are away. Their home game with Derby next weekend will be huge

Derby don't concede a lot for a team at the bottom of the league, and we don't score a lot. They don't score a lot either. Eustace will be negative and try and grind points out. 0-0 -

So you think literally the minute Tronstadt come on, it coincided with Norwich deciding if to change their gameplan and settle for a point. Ok. I believe playing Forshaw instead of getting a replacement of a similar quality to Baker has cost us what could be significant points in January. Yesterday quite starkly enforced that view for me. -

They were dominating literally to the point the substitutions were made. Then it switched. If they had ultimately settled for the draw before the red card, it was because the momentum of the game had changed following the substitutions. I'm fairly sure they werent dominating up until the hour point and then thought "yeah that's enough lads, we're getting at their back 4 at will but lets start sitting back and defending a bit deeper now. Let Blackburn have the ball a bit more" -

He’s fine keeping it simple on the ball, but without it he’s just not good enough. He’s slow and gets bypassed too easily. Situations he’s in where you expect a holding midfielder to come out with the ball or break up play they seem to just come through us. It happened today. I pointed it out within 6 minutes at Swansea last week. Hedges didn’t come on until the 76th minute, and by that point rovers were back in the ascendancy. That wasn’t entirely down to Tronstadt as we also replaced the ineffective Dolan and Cantwell, but he did play a big part of it. Forshaw works hard but simply hasn’t got what it takes anymore in a two man midfield against the better sides in this league. -

First half we had more of the attacking positions but they had the best two chances. Second half we were getting overrun until Tronstadt come on for Forshaw, who once again looked out of his depth. The big positive is that once Tronstadt was on, the balance of the game shifted back in Rovers favour until the sending off. Him and Trav are going to be absolutely key from here on in.
