  1. After the recent incoming players being all short term, I fear the club would struggle to offer more than an 18 month contract to a new manager There will be very little security in it for whoever comes in, who will also surely realise the impending squad problems. I think even then likes of Edwards could just pass on this ‘opportunity’.
  2. I'd taken your 'not washing with me' line to mean you don't believe him. Now I agree on the family reasons line. That's bullshit. But its blindingly obvious that he doesn't feel the club have done what they said they would do regarding investment and transfer, and that he feels that Derby would be a better place to work despite their league position than continue working with Waggot/Suhail and these owners. That's the truth. Jackson, who never rocks the boat at Ewood, is reporting it as blunt as can be. It's the same reasons we heard from JDT. It's the same reasons Lambert was leaving us 9 years ago. You may well believe that actually he got enough support (Sanderson!), but he obviously feels he hasn't otherwise he wouldn't be off. 14 players out of contract in the summer. No contracts renewed since 2023. No guarantees that we will spend anything to replace those players. 1 year deals for journeymen. Free transfers in on 6 months deals. Loans. No proven quality brought in. No guarantees the financial situation will change. It's practically an impossible job for a coach to keep moving this club forward. That's why he's left.
  3. Which part of JE's departure exactly is 'not washing with you' ?
  4. It's incredibly hard on the club by the LT standards. It's like he's getting the nod from someone within the club to run these articles.
  5. I’d be trying to extend Batth for another year. He’s been outstanding so far, and there’s no guarantee Wharton and Carter will be fit for long periods. We’re hardly likely to go out and bring anyone better in.
  6. Stick it out till the summer and then what? What if no other club meets the release clause fee?
  7. “John is interested in the position but you would have to meet the £750k release clause” ”No thank you”
  8. Let’s remember @jim mk2 opening post on this thread which I’ve quoted above. Read it again. Exceedingly accurate, with the communication part tying in with JE calling for speaking to the owners yesterday. At the time no Derby position vacant. No release clause matched. Nothing to do with money. He’d had enough.
  9. Don’t forget at the end of the season he can’t just quit. JDT tried that and was told he had to buy out his contract. Therefore he would be reliant on a team coming in and meeting the release clause.
  10. Someone jokingly said Aitor Karanka on the Eustace thread over the weekend, but the fact he’s unemployed and signed Gestede for Boro previously probably makes it plausible.
  11. Agree to be fair. And I doubt those points Eustace went in to make weren’t raised for the first time today. He will have been making them all January. And they've fell on deaf ears.
  12. He sits in a job interview. They tell him the parameters of the job. That gets broken in the summer. Then gets broken in January despite an exceptional first half of the season. Therefore that’s literally not “what he signed up for”
  13. The club have lied and lied over the financial situation. They are down to 14 first team players in the summer. Only one of their January ‘significant investments’ is here past the summer, and he’s only for another year. Eustace currently has a club willing to meet the ‘release clause’ of his contract. West Brom wouldn’t, and there’s no guarantee another club in the summer will. And yet Eustace apparently has gone in and said he would still stop here providing they extend his contract and guarantee investment in his players and new players. And they’ve said no. They won’t offer him a new contract. They won’t commit and extend the contract of existing players. They won’t guarantee that any new signings won’t be cheap short term deals. Basics that any championship club should be doing. Hes trying his best to guarantee his future, the players futures and, for the fans, the well being of the entire club. However some people like you are so short sighted they just see a fading chance of top 6 this season, and lash out like a jilted ex. You don’t see that he was actually trying his best not to let any of us down.
  14. Looks like saying the word “Suhail” in an interview has worked its magic again.
  15. The players will know that Eustace was trying to get some movement on their future contracts for Waggot & Co. , and that he’s been snubbed. I bet Waggot and Gestede don’t wheel any of them out infront of fan groups for a bizarre meeting again this week.
  16. JE intentionally kept saying the owners yesterday rather than Waggot / the board. Waggot has absolutely no idea if Venues will release funds for contracts or signings. His job is just to cover up the bullshit and save coin.
  17. When is it due to snow again? That one snowball had more impact on the owners than any financial loss, protest or media campaign ever seemed to have had.
  18. Cos he gets a bonus on reducing losses / savings?
  19. Last year I think internally JDT was going for a while before it actually happened. That’s why JE was in within days. I think this situation would be a little different.
  20. And we won't score enough goals under Rob Edwards cos we've not brought in any proper strikers. And then half the squad leaves in the summer. We then replace with cheap signings and loans. Edwards gets frustatrated and wants out. Fuck him. Off you jog. Lee Johnson comes in. Players out of contract. Replaced with cheapies. Relegation. Fuck him. Off you jog......
  21. If your Waggot, and you know you are retiring this summer or possibly next, why do you care who is contracted for 26/27 ? Especially as increasing wages on new contracts now might affect this years financial performance and therefore make you look 'not as good' in the eyes of the owners. Where's the motivation to give a shit?
  22. Because in the squad he is a direct replacement for Baker, and he is inferior as everything implied he would be. Due to availability, he's currently 3rd choice CM (as he was when he was brought in), and for spells here has been 2nd choice. Therefore from the start of the window to the end of the window we downgraded. Why would that not be a reason to complain??
  23. Too early for me. I support all our players.
