SS9. I play for Gymea United in the Sutherland Comp. It is, I might, add my last season. Giving it away in four weeks time (if we don't make the finals).
-
Had that happened, Rev, the game might have been over in normal (or extra) time, and it wouldn't have gone to penalties.
-
How's it looking now, Guys? A few of my English supporting mates are not too impressed with the competition to date. Got to agree, there is something lacking, maybe it's the diving etc, but it's very ordinary.

Just emailing your cousin and nephew as we type, wags

I'd tend to agree with DUR. Football in my neck of the woods has always been popular at junior playing level. In my club we have 88 teams I think ranging from under 6's to over 45's 12/1300 players, and we are not the biggest club in our area. Some 14000 people in local government area play football, that's about 7% of the total population. Where the code fails is holding on to the good 14- 17 year olds, they drift away to League or other things that take their fancy. That might be because there's nothing for them to aspire to. What we need now is a good state structure under the A league. The Aussies getting to the WC has been a roaring success, and raised the profile of the code, it has just got to be capitalised on. As an afterthought, it's interesting to note that the bloke in charge, John O'Neill was in charge of the Australian Rugby Union, and transformed that code from one wallowing in debt to one that took on League in the professional era. The other thing that football has got rid of is the "ethnic" names of the football clubs, that has helped.

There are a couple of people that have posted in another thread that it suits. They're both "d*cks". edit: Just realised I got this wrong. Dildos are useful tools, the other two aren't.

Almost agree with you Rev. Firstly, I thought it was a dead set dive, and not a good one at that. Secondly, I agree entirely about Neill going to ground. You automatically lose 90% of your options by doing so. Still, the results on the board, can't be changed now. The Aussies have to prepare for their game against Kuwait on 16/8 in the Asian Championship.

True enough Le C, but the Italian made a meal of falling over. he could quite easily have hopped over Neill, but the ball had got away from him.

Absolute rubbish
-
Kamy, that was never ever a penalty
-
What a way to lose!
-
Spanish ref, don't like the physical side of the game. I'll go the other way philipl. A win for the eyties. Either way, expect a lot of diving.
-
You can't say Lucas doesn't have a positive attitude. He and the rest of the team will give it all tonight. They have a chance to knock over one of the heavyweights of football. Can they do it? I'm not certain, but hopefully they'll give a good show. One thing that is for sure, they'll be full of running at the end.

Didn't say that Abs. What I did say was, in the NRL, if you behave like a jerk, then there's a good chance that your contract will be torn up and you won't be able to play at that level again. It's called contrary conduct, bringing the game into disrepute, if found guilty, the minimum is a steep fine Best to put it this way. There are better role models for the kids of Britain than Rooney. Have a look back through some of the threads on here, they are not very respectful of the Roon.
-
Abs, a lot are, a lot aren't. A lot of Rugby League players are made out to be role models, but some, just some, of their comrades stuff it up by doing stupid things. It's got to the stage where if a player gets drunk, hits someone and they'll end up having their contract torn up and being unemployable, no team will touch them. If Bellamy were playing League in Australia at the mo, there's a real good chance he'd be out on his ear, with all of his "problems".
-
And, AS, he's a role model for the youth of the UK. It's not that long ago that people on here were talking about him being the "new Gazza". Great footballer, but "lacking" in other areas. Tell me, who, or what, has given him the "image" that he's got?

It's starting to turn, The Argies are looking promising. The German goals looked good. I must admit to going to bed after the 2nd German goal,( well it was close to 2am, and we'd had a heap of people over). Agree, Tcj, Germany v Argentina should be a good one. Hope it's not a game of get one up and then defend like hell.

Yes, jim mk2

Flops, you'd be better asking the person who posted before you.
-
greggyk, that's taking things too far
-
The fact that he doesn't live "there" is irrelevent, his comment is just as valid as any you may wish to make. We are talking about a footballer, 20 years old or so, who shags 45 year old "ladies". "ludicrously tagged" seems like you're getting rattled, but weren't you not going to watch anymore games, AS. I thought you were taking the kids to the Zoo or something. Gee, you might even see a Koala, or even a Kangaroo.
-
On TV here, they talked about how the English and German fans clashed, put the blame on the English supporters whilst showing tape of the (very obvious) German fans heaving chairs tables etc at what I presume were English fans.
-
You fat #5$*&@) Been on the German ale, I'll bet Why didn't you say, I'm the guy holding the hand of the girl wearing the yellow "T". I'd have said nothing

When times up, it's up. A ref will be looking at his timepiece when he's blowing his whistle.
-
Have a look at the end of the first half, he did exactly the same then. Throw in, ball in air, whistle for 1/2 time.
