  1. Incidentally, we had no choice.
  2. Kids had dyslexia back in the day, but no one knew what it was. They were just the "dumb kid." (Maybe that explains you Gord? )
  3. My nomination for post of the year.
  4. Finished a respectable 2nd, and the person who dropped to my league is a new owner, so has a crap team. Should have a good shot at promotion and should train my 6 cms up to formidable by seasons end. Right now I have some cash and am thinking about buying a formidable winger or defender.
  5. To quote the announcer on the Spanish speaking station covering the match: "Sprechen ze Deutsch Estados Unidos?" (Andy, feel free to correct the German half of that if I spelled it wrong.)
  6. Nice to see the compassion you had for the Tsunami victims has moved over to the victims of this hurricane you jackass. Where's your cry for the world to be giving more money for relief now?
  7. Just to be pedantic, it should be: "As are the last 4 words."
  8. Maybe that explains Waggy?
  9. I think Kuqi is not fit for the lone striker role, but he does seem to create chances for others. Maybe we'll be singing a different tune when he and Bellamy have had time to create a working partnership?
  10. I'm roughly 420,000 out of slightly over 500,000
  11. Funny line from the letters section of F365 regarding our discipline "problem": "I'm surprised Blackburn Rovers don't run out of the tunnel in hoodies pulled low over their faces and waving sticks with nails in them"
  12. Cost, actually: when the battle began, Apples cost a lot more than IBMs. That led people to start with MS. By the time prices went down on Macs, it was too late. Microsoft had already taken over the world. Had Apple been only a software company, like Microsoft, and not sold their own hardware, you'd be saying "Bill Who?"
  13. You are a geek, aren't you, Glenn?
  14. Owen had a year left on his contract at the time, now he has 3 or so. Considering the Owen is the best English striker since Shearer, it wouldn't be a bad deal to get his replacement in, assuming they could convince him to be a long-term replacement. If Liverpool buys him back, they'll be paying around the same fee. Not bad for a world class striker, considering what Chelsea paid for Drogba.
  15. Now you know how the rest of us feel about watching Celtic play like crap this season!
  16. I guess I'm one of the few ex-pats who agree with him. He's paying minimum 250 per season to watch Rovers (ticket alone), I can at least pay 20. Really, what do Rovers make off of me? My subscription and my shirt or 2 each year. It's the least I can pay. And considering the free swag Rovers sent to season ticket holders this year, highlights wouldn't kill them.
  17. Saw "highlights" of Nissa on Saturday. Glad he's gone.
  18. I've joined, as has someone else from here, I would guess, as there is a B.R.F.C. in my league. I'm American Rovers. Sign me up for the cup, but I can only guess if I'll have enough time to keep this up as well at HT.
  19. You are a God! Finally got to watch MOTD!!
  20. Not sure if this is the spot, or the 4-5-1 thread, but it looked like MGP is a lot better and more of a threat in the 4-5-1. Also, after watching United this morning, I could see Bellamy playing a Rooney like role in that formation with Kuqi as the lone striker. (Oh, and was Sorenson amazing, or what?)
  21. That would explain why I haven't seen Lewis playing for Preston yet this season!! Was following Reading's match commentary while listening to Rovers. Convey has been having a great season so far.
  22. You might want to try logging on - when I registered it said that renewals were automatic. Someone has to pay for the coverage. Locally, the commercials are how they pay, but I don't care about comfy balls (except when my boxers are too tight). Again, 25 quid a year is the least we should be contributing to Rovers. You should never complain about our lack of Funds for transfers again with that attitude. Free coverage won't get us enough fans to be worth it, especially since it will likely give more overseas fans who they don't make money from, as they will be following for free. And to get local fans who will come to matches? Well, they already listen for free.
  23. Why should it be free? Rovers are a business, not a right. With the amounts that those locals lucky enough to have a season ticket pay each year, 25 quid is the least we can contribute for the honor of being able to listen to every match live.
  24. To be fair, I'd rather have Parker as my extra than Kuqi.
  25. Sadly, Gordo, that's what a lot of the hard core Muslims feel. Oh, and it's Jerry Springer.
