  1. I always heard it as If ifs and buts were candies and nuts... I never remember the ending either!
  2. Bolton is reminding me of Citeh last year. Started so well, then barely survived at the end.
  3. From listening to it, we were the better team in the first half, and our defense held firm in the second. (I'm guessing that Flopsy was the one who changed the subtitle of this thread.)
  4. If we don't get another one soon we're DOOOMED
  5. Rovers + Ferguson + Savage to take the defensive pressure off of Ferguson and allow him to move forward = Safety
  6. Brum back in front, good for us. If all stays as is, we move above Andy Cole, er I mean Fulham. Elsewhere, in the CCC, looks like Pardew's days are numbered at West Ham, down 2-0.
  7. Stead about to come on for an injured Bothroyd
  8. I tried it a while back and it was pretty hard to get on. Didn't find it worth the hassle.
  9. See, even this site has an anti-MGP bias!! Stead replaces MGP on the bench. Paul - are you Mark Hughes in disguise? Do you have to pay a bigger fee for the server if his name gets mentioned a certain amount of times?
  10. Grabs me as one who would get relegated this season.
  11. Pot....Kettle.....
  12. I'll be very disappointed if in his first match for Rovers, you guys don't sing Makoena's name to the Macarena song.
  13. In 2002, Brad had one of the great years by a keeper. First he helped Rovers to a Worthington Cup. He followed this up in June by leading the US to a quarterfinal berth, and if not for a missed call, semifinal berth. In the World Cup in Japan/Korea. During the group stages he saved 2 penalties (I believe a record). Back at Rovers, he kept up his spectacular play. In one match against Arsenal he almost singlehandedly won the match, making over 20 saves.
  14. OK, Jim, show me how he is? One more goal and only 3 points higher in the standings despite having a better supporting cast. Add to that Dickov scoring a goal AT Fulham when we shut them out (might I add against our defence, which is pretty sad). Did Cole have more than one good chance in that match?
  15. And our leading scorer (who has one less than Cole) also created the 2 penalties he scored. How many penalties did Cole create his last season for us? Yes, we miss having a 15-20 goal a season scorer. Sadly, Cole is no longer a 15 goal a season scorer even if we still had him, barely a 10 goal a season scorer. At this point in his career, Cole would not be our answer. He is no better than Dickov right now. Souness made a mistake, yes. He made a mistake in not going out and getting a good striker during the summer.
  16. I'll bet you 20 pounds, with the loser having to give the money to the site.
  17. No, if Andy Reid had been bought and played as poorly as MGP did when he was given a chance, we'd be saying the same thing. You've been on here long enough to know how fickle we are.
  18. Even worse, my wife supports Everton.
  19. I'd have more respect had Cuidado not pretended to be a Rovers fan until he was found out, and hasn't even addressed that yet. As for the "if he were English" debate: Danns and Donnelly anyone? The only one screaming for these talented young English players to get more of a chance is also a MGP supporter.
  20. 2+2=£600K? South Afrian link Mokoena is a bit of a worry as he has been through a lot of leagues in a short period- whereas Nelsen looks like he has the leadership desire and fight we need but it is an open question as to how he will handle the transitionto the EPL Bocanegra moved over pretty well at a similar time last season, and Nelsen has a game more suited for the Prem.
  21. Cahill has been a BIG difference for them going forward this year. I also don't remember them playing with one striker last year, which has helped shore up the defense.
  22. It's all moot. Since he's from MLS, and we know all MLS players are crap, he must be crap. As for the serious part, he had one of the greatest 12-month stretches you'll ever see from a keeper. I think all of our expectations became a bit high. Is he a bad keeper, no. Is he one of the top 2 or 3 in the Prem right now, no. Are we in good shape in that position now with him as the starter and Encks as his backup/understudy, I think so.
  23. Will he be alongside Anderson and Pederson? Maybe he'll push McEverley to the reserves? Will his solid defensive play help Freidal?
  24. Been looking worse and worse the last couple games I've seen him play. And I'm one who's a big fan of his. He's been pulling his Flitty disappearing act, which shouldn't happen when you were purchased for that much.
