  1. Agree with you there Waggy. I'd like to see Hughes at least give himself the option of being able to bring Gally in off the bench late in the match. He did great in that role last season. Poodle tip: NEVER under any circumstances get that stupid, ugly, stereotypical hair cut with the balls on the feet and such for your poodle!!
  2. Fulham is still only a few points ahead of us (and I know at least 3 of those points came with him out suspended). If he were here, we'd probably have lost those 2 matches 4-1 instead of 4-0. The problem wasn't as much the loss of Cole as the failure to bring in an adequate replacement who wasn't going to kill our wallet like Cole was.
  3. But Greggy, as super-Blackburn-based-RoversFan, you should have been there!! (While we're on the topic of sarcastic stick.)
  4. Wow, a necropheliac.
  5. Probably will be hard for Morten, erm, I mean Cuidado, to post reports during the match anyhow!!
  6. I'm sure Cuidado's sources will be giving him minute by minute reports he'll be posting on here...
  7. Call me picky, but it might have had to do with a little injury he sustained. He did give him his break, after all, and in a match where he was starting a newly loaned left back out of position to be able to play Jay.
  8. Emerton, throw a hundred on Norwich, please!! (For yourself, not on my behalf.)
  9. I was with you until the last couple votes, Dave. I don't think LeSaux or Brad should be in the side, but things seem to be improving, with more impassioned comments on the older people and more people voting overall. It looks from the last couple results that people are finally listening to what the oldtimers have to say.
  10. I'll blame 'em both equally, as the big gripe (before he left and people starting grasping for straws about why GS was terrible - very few people were complaining about the talent while he was still here) was his poor man-management style. Any club with Ferguson and Emerton running the midfield should be easily able to stay up with a good manager. That being said, I think we'll stay up, so the point is moot.
  11. Didn't watch the match, but how legit were the 2 City penalty appeals towards the end?
  12. 0-5 for me this week. My attack and midfield seem to be doing the job. Also upgrading my arena while I've got 2 matches on the road. Was able to sell one of my strikers to finance it. Bought him when I first started for about $43,000 and right now, with over an hour to go he's going for $100,000. That should finance the rest of my season, as I'm about $3,000 in the black going into this week. Pretty happy with my squad, and might even be able to sell a passable or solid defender a little later.
  13. Did anyone watch Ferguson's Tugay like display of passing in the first half? He was exceptional in the second, but uncharacteristically misplaced about 4 or 5 passes in the first. Still, for the most part, he and Emerton are a class above the rest of our midfielders right now.
  14. Got the goal scorers right!!
  15. Good game, shame we didn't get all 3 points. Have to say, though, that Baros was MOTM, Emerton for us. Thought Ferguson and Tugay played great in the second half, but in the first, Ferguson mis-hit more passes in 45 minutes than I've seen him mishit in all of his time here. Tugay's challenges were awful, but his passing was finally good. I didn't feel the confidence in Nissa that most on here seem to have. He played ok, but could have been more confident in his approach. Bothroyd proved me right, McEveley played confident, except the one boneheaded play. Dickov needs to learn how to finish from 6 yards out (that's a few times this season he's hit it straight at the keeper). Neil was terrible, Brad made some great saves, but should have done better with the first. Short was solid, as usual, but his lack of pace was exposed, as usual. Reid had a really good match, but with him being on the opposite side of Emerton, didn't have the ball going through him much. I'd be interested to see him in the middle, next to Emerton (like someone mentioned after last week's match). GREAT shot by Stead, the end of the schneid is near for him. Outside of the first 10-20 minutes, I was very happy with the performance put in. If not for good keeping on both ends, though, the score could easily have been 4-4. What I liked most was that for the first time in a few weeks, the team DID NOT GIVE UP!!!
  16. My one response on the Bush out issue: They both suck. It royally ticks me off that I pay double the federal income tax, percentage wise, than the millionaire Kerry/Heinze family. (Though I do like a shaved woman.)
  17. New music for them to come out to? For those about to rock..... We salute you.
  18. No, they put that in the manual just to confuse you.... (thank god this site doesn't have a sarcasm filter.)
  19. If being a loser gets me a Premiership winners medal, I should have a ton by now!
  20. If we can get a shutout, we will win. However, as soon as a goal is conceded, the flood gates will open and the players will give up. 2-0 Rovers, Emerton and Bothroyd with Todd as MOTM.
  21. I'm starting to move to the "the rest of the team is crap, he can't hurt" school of thought. Wouldn't hurt to give him a full match against Liverpool. Look at our other options on the left. I'd rather see Emerton back on the right, where he should be. Then again, for those who say he's lighting up our practices, he is going against a first division defense!!
  22. Our reaction when Nuclearsox comes to visit the US:
  23. Disagree, I think if we had a GOOD defensive central midfielder to partner with Ferguson, that would help our offense and defense. It would provide more cover for the back, and allow Barry to make more runs forward. Yeah true mate, but Barry scoring 5+ a season isn't going to solve our scoring problems is it. Surely Reid or Thompson could do a half decent job in there, thus allowing us to bring in a striker who could teach the rest a thing or two. I think him scoring 5-10 goals and creating space for Gallagher/Stead/Bothroyd would help us solve our scoring problems.
