  1. Unlikely but it would be the best feeling in the history of football.
  2. Well done Hughes. He is showing hes not afraid to throw his weight around, dropping matteo and gray, sacking parkes. The club needs freshening up, tony had to go. Thanks for everything Tony!!
  3. Hughsey, your mentality of 'home fans stand so we stand' is stupid. Thats not the problem,i dont mind standing if everyonme behind is standing and i dont mind standing when something exciting happens but when idiot kids stand up and refuse to sit down when a respectable middle aged rovers fan who has been going to away games about 25 years before they were born asks them to, then hurl abuse at him and try and get him ejected is a disgrace. Then when a policeman comes down to sort it out they have the cheek to try and get the man ejected by telling the police 'hes not a real rovers fan' just because hes in plain clothes. Its unbelievable. Then the mindless middle aged guy who might aswell be associated with a 16 year old kid who then shouts at the man aswell accusing him of being a 'spy' from rovers, then says 'do you know who i am' and asks him for a fight outside. I couldnt believe my ears. If you post on here, grow up.
  4. Souness quote from nufc.co.uk.... "Sometimes you get the rub of the green, and Lady Luck shines on you. That wasnt the case for us today." lol. Unbelievebale. What an idiot.
  5. Agree 100% It was an absolute disgrace. Every away game now we have to listen to to**ers just argue about standing up, obviously trying to cause trouble, you are boring little 15 year olds who drink half a can of cider and think you are clever. We dont want you watching our club. There was a young lad and his little mate who were sat infront of me, prob about 15, who stood up constantly then got told to sit down by that lad and refused, he grabbed one by the neck and dragged him down (the lad nearly **** himself, soft *******) then people on the row behind them started having a go at the lad who grabbed him (more burberry idiots trying to impress their girlfriends). Then it nearly kicked off with people infront. Its a disgrace, some of us want to watch the game, rovers need to send someone to awa games in plain clothes and take pictures of these people, then ban them from all rovers games, they arent wanted.
  6. Not gonna make a prediction but my team is... Friedel Neill Short Nissa Mcevely Reid Ferguson Tugay Emerton Dickov Bothroyd subs..encks, pedersen, stead, djorkaef, todd Cant say im looking forward to the 7 1/2 hour train journey
  7. I can never be bothered posting when i get home after the games cause by the time i get back its time for match of the day, then on sundays everyone has said what i wanna say. However, id just like to say... NISSA...i wanna shake your hand. I couldnt believe my eyes. Ive been slating him on here for a few weeks now because he doesnt look confident and seems nervous. But yesterday, if he can perform like that he can have that starting spot all season. I expected short to run the defensive team and carry nissa, but nissa was totally in control and seemed to want to be the boss. Brilliant! Im so pleased. Special mention also to bothroyd who took his chance and how good can he hold up the ball!? Emerton has been excellent since hughes came in and was class yesterday. Reid was good. The whole team played well although Tugay is worrying me. Didnt like the way lucas got caught for the first goal, i saw that happen 20 seconds before it did. And of course jays free kick but that happens. Excellent ROVERS!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep it up.
  8. Not sure about Hartlepool but all the Blackpool fans i spoke to said he was quality and much better than Douglas.
  9. Have a great feeling about this game....honest. Friedel Neil Short Todd Gray Emerton Ferguson Reid Djorkaef Jansen Stead Subs...Enckleman, Matteo, Pedersen, Tugay, Dickov Blackburn Rovers 1 (Pedersen Pen) Liverpool 4 (Cisse x3, Alonso)
  10. Well, i see everyone had a fun weekend. Thank god i didnt go to chelsea and spent the weekend in glasgow, listened to the game, had to endure lots of stick. The highlight of the weekend was taking my ewood park jinx to Ibrox and watching dundee utd equalise in 89th min against rangers! haha Still havent seen the highlights. Just think back to all the pre-season optimism
  11. Maybe so but Steven Reid is not the answer to the left-side of midfield. Morten-Gamst really does deserve an extended, consistent run in the side. He has done nothing for rovers to 'really deserve an extended, consistent run in the side'. Reid played on the RIGHT and did ok. Morten hasent done anything in the games he has started. I am 100% confident that he will be a huge player for us sooner rather than later but at the moment we need points, we cant afford to just give him starting spots in games unless he deserves it, hopefully he will come on as a sub, do really well, then start the game after and go on from there, but for now he needs a good run in the reserves. De Pedro is infront of morten in the pecking order IMO, he is working hard on trying to get fully fit and has done well for the reserves.
  12. well thats almost 24 hours of calming down time and after a hard day at work ive just browsed the posts and im bringing myself to say...reid was good and IMO any criticism is unfair, must of been very hard for him playing his first competitive match for months in a team with 10 men. Made some bad passes at times but he was nervous and this should stop when he gets more confident.
  13. sweet mother of god ive had enough
  14. Friedel Neill Amoruso Matteo Gray Emerton Ferguson Tugay De Pedro Dickov Djorkaeff Subs... encks, pedersen, jansen, stead, todd
  15. Im pleased with today, entertaining game and for the first time in a long long while we look like a premiership team and look a good threat to goal. Unfortunately the defence is getting worse. Dickov, ferguson and emerton were EXCELLENT! Youri had a good debut, jansen was ok, tugay wasnt bad. The defence, im not gonna bother talking about it but everyone knew the equaliser was mins away. And a special mention for jon stead....oh god. Now i remember being a bit worried last season when we signed him and he scored and everyones raving and talking about england. I was cautious although i kinda jumped on the stead bandwagon after the fulham game and i will always be thankful to him for keeping us up, because there is no doubt about it, he kept us up. Watching him though i just think he was a lower league player who was getting the lucky breaks. I remember the newcastle game thinking he did nothing, then he scored. This season he has been trying hard and having shots, aslong as he does that im happy, however we cant carry him for long because we need the points. Mark Hughes obviously thought the same and dropped hm today. I saw him warming up and thought, bring him on for youri and he will do ok and hopefully get his first goal. He came on and i dont think i could have looked too much further out of my depth than he did. He was terrible, and the dissapointment i could hear from all angles was painful. I kept hearing people whispering 'hes lost it' and today he looked knackered after 3 mins and couldnt do anything! I really am praying that he comes good and proves everyone wrong, part of me thinks after he gets a goal he will be fine and back on track, another part of me thinks we have a league 1 striker out of his depth.
  16. The rest of Nuclearsox's excellent post can be read further up the page I missed the game because of work, thanks for that! Great post!
  17. Great Day!!! Not got much else to add to whats been said already. Dickov is a revelation! The attacking options now are interesting for the cup game. Id give dickov a rest. Pedersen definately needs a run in the reserves, de pedro also needs a few games.
  18. Just read claire tomlinsons preview of the game, and i quote.... 'These two teams will have very different mentalities for the season: for Blackburn fourth from bottom will be good enough, but Portsmouth are expecting a little higher' behave yourself claire
  19. I still want dowie and not hughes! Come on JW, see sense and appoint Dowie, and if we have to get hughes i wont be happy with this joint club/country rubbish, that wont work. as for megson...god no i remember going to a blackpool match about 7 years ago against Hednesford town in the fa cup and they lost, it was that bad 4 fans ran to the dugout and started assaulting megson and ripping his jacket.
  20. Dowie is 26-1 on bet365. The more i think about it this is becoming a very good bet. Id be happy with dowie aswell and the palace fans seem to think hes in talks.
  21. Curbishley does seem a bit unrealistic but they havent had the best start to the season, although better than us but he may think he has taken charlton as far as he can. Rovers will offer more money, we have a good squad, probably better than charlton and good finances. He may see it as a step in the right direction, charlton were seen by many as possible bottom half of table candidates this season and he will want to go out on a high, they cant hold on to good players, just lost parker and jensen and the singings havent exactly been world class i,e murphy and jeffers!
  22. sky bet just slashed odds on hughes to 3-1, houllier from 9 to 8-1. advocat 7-1 curbs still 12's
  23. That is always the killer line that means 'i will leave if offered the job'. They always say that, trust me.
  24. If we win on saturday i can see parkes being named as manager until the end of the season at least.
