That table made some interesting reading. I didn't realise how long Scott Parker was out with his broken metatarsel. If anything that table proves that a physio cannot predict how long recover will take. Also didn't Sven last night say that he were taking Rooney to the WC even if he is injured.

[Archived] Should Dunny Have Come Home?

Forsell looks past it, it looks like his injuries that he has obtained throughout his career have ruined him. 2 or 3 years ago i would have taken him but he just not worth the gamble anymore. Just look at the chance he fluffed yesterday, he is too like Paul Dickov in terms that he messes up whena good chance is offered to him. We need a quality striker to go with Bellers and Forsell is not the right man. TBH should we really be looking at a relegated team to sign our perfect partner for Bellers from? Ooooh and just so no one can throw the old West Ham players situation at me, i'll mention it, yes i know Defoe left the Whammers and has gone on to make a success of himself but that is a real rareity as when a side is relegated the are normally relegated for a good reason. e.g. leaky defence matched up with very few goals. Maybe Kevin Phillips could also be an exception to that rule but he has hardly been prolific since he left Sunderland for Soton & Villa. -
I think that we will not see any of our international players at Ewood on Tuesday night as i think they will remember what we did to them last season. We as a club will get villified in the press if we go over physical on them, just imagine if the axe were to break Frank Lampard's leg or John Terry/Joe Cole were to fracture.break a metatarsel at the hands of Robbie Savage or Lucas Neill, the club would be public enemy number one. But that won't happen as i reckon Sven has had nice word with the special one and told him to rest all of his English WC players.
-
As long as we take at least 2 points from our last two games there is nothing Newcastle and notloB can do about it lol. If we somehow beat Chelski on Tuesday night, theres going to be one hell of a party in the stadium which i cannot wait for.
-
Aaron Lennon, he has no Caps does he and he is a favourite to go as one of the fringe players now, shillito15.
-
lol I didn't quite mean it like that. I was saying that if we are to lose to them, let it be by the one goal as it would sleave us with a better goal difference than the barcodes. Although saying that, Newcastle will have to win on Sunday and hope we lose otherwise 6th place is ours lol.

The England provisional squad has to be named in 8 days so apart from Defoe, Crouch, Owen, who else is Sven going to take if he cannot take Rooney. IMO it has to be Darren Bent, he is the top scoring Englishman in the Premiership. As for Rooney i cannot see him even being fit for the second round nevermind the group stage, it would be a bit unfair on the lad to throw him in against our second round opponents which could be the Germans with no match practise and short of fitness. It is a very unlucky blow for us as a nation but an even mroe unlucky blow for the lad himself especially after the way his European Championships ended as well. He would have no doubt have been one of the stars of the tournament, but hey miracles can happen, he may still make it. But probably won't happen. What a shame.

F.A CLOSE TO APPOINTING A NEW HEAD COACH
-
Emre?? I haven't seen enough of him playing at his best to really pass comment on him but his transfer fee would be huge and we cannot afford to blow our transfer kitty on a player like him who from what little i have seen of him this season can blow hot and cold.
-
I cannot see us winning it as Chelski will probably fluke a late winner like usual at Ewood Park but as 1864roverite said 'who cares' because if Notlob lose to the mighty potatoes we will all but have 6th place. We should maybe try to avoid conceding a few goals though, that would be a good idea just in case the Barcodes put a few past Chelski a week today.

Mendes may be up for grabs if Harry Redknapp moves on in the summer as he hasn't confirmed he wants to stay with Pompey. Although i think that if Pompey can keep that D'Allesandro and Mendes and Redknapp, they could be the suprise package of next season like we were this season and as such Mendes wouldn't want to leave. IMO Petrov is still the one to replace Tugay and will be availible for purchase from Celtic as soon as the transfer window opens.
-
He will have his work cut out to get them back in the Prem next season, as there will be a mass exodus in the summer. Can you really see someone like J.Pennant/E.Heskey/C.Sutton/M.Upson wanting to play at a cold stadium down in Plymouth on a Thursday night? I can't, they'll all be off by August to other clubs, leaving Brucey with not much in way of money for players and a mountain to climb. Isn't it a shame for it to happen to such a MASSIVE club...Not!!

I just read on Ceefax that the F.A want to appoint a new manager by the end of the week. Who could in really be? Well Curbs did just resign and deny any knowledge of the England job, could he have thrown the media a curveball?

That is an interesting fact ozziejones. I thought Bentley looked good when he came on yesterday, he seemed to want to get forward and supply the ball to the strikers and wasn't afraid to let Reid bomb past him and take up a moire central position to draw defenders away from Bellamy which i thought worked very well. Bring on the Chelski. -

Heskey, no way the man has scored 5 goals all season and we cannot say he hasn't been getting any service because he's had Pennant swinging in crosses left, right & centre for him. As for Pennant, i would love to see him playing for us, but where would this leave somebody like Bentley and Emerton. How would our midfield look next season as we have MGP down as our left winger, then we have Savage/Reid/Tugay(who IMO was superb yesterday)/Bentley. So which player out of the current midfield would you drop to play him, as it seems to me that when Tugay is fit and well, he will start and Reid will be pushed out wide right. -
Lets just face it, Rooney will NOT play any part in the WC. Didn't he get the same injury at Euro 2004 versus Portugal and he didn't play again until October/November in the Champions League when he scored that hat-trick. Without Rooney who i feel is the only player we have who other nations truly fear, we have got no chance of even making the semi's nevermind winning it. add no Owen to that mix, going to the WC with starting line-up strikers of Defoe & Crouch does not fill me with confidence. Although saying that, the same thing happened in 1966 with Jimmy Greaves being out of the tournament and he was a first choice striker and look what happened. Maybe it could be the tournament for somebody to really make a name for themselves.
-
Fourth place got out of our grasp a week or so guys, why even talk about it, its a very slim chance now and i think we should be more concerned with keeping sixth place nevermind any higher.
-
Ooooh could it get any better in one afternoon of football, a Rovers win with a great team performance away from home and the not just big club but the worldwide super club Birmingham City getting relegated. Pinch me, am i dreaming.

Got to agree with everyone on here, Tugay was instrumental in our excellent performance tonight. He ran the show. Bellamy is just a different class, he ran the channels well and if he had timed some of his runs slightly better may have had a fair few sniffs at goal. I must say i were impressed with Bentle as well, he looked quite sharp tonight. Looks like we'll have a make shift defence versus the champs but if we play like that we can beat them. -
That is correct! The Whammers will probably just rest their players now until the cup final which will take them out of the race for 6th place. Today is a big day of football for us, we need the big club to do us a favour, we need the Spuds to beat the notlobbers and we must beat Charlton.

After the Charlton match i have had a change of heart, if we play like that against a Man City side with sweet fa to play for we should win comfortably. A change in prediction to Rovers 2 Man City 1 -
[Archived] Nintendo Ds Advice...
ihtd replied to Shevchenko's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
My mum has a DS and she is never off it, she says the games are very addictive. I've had a go on hers and i must say i was very impressed with the games and the console itself. IMO the games for it are slightly childish, not all but some such as the new Pokemon game but there are some real gems for it such as Mario Kart, Mario and Nintendogs of which i lauhged when i first heard my mum had bought it, but its actually quite fun. I'd keep my PSP though anytime above a DS but the Wi-Fi functions of the Ds are amazing. -
I hope he's ok because without him and a match-fit Owen we have no chance of winning the WC. I wouldn't like to see us playing Crouch and Defoe upfront, that would be bad.

They are more than welcome to take Dickov off us IMO. As for the game, i can see an anti-climax coming here and a rare home defeat for the season to Man City with Andy Cole bagging a brace. Rovers 0 Man City 2 -

I'm quite good at 9-ball pool but put me on snooker table and i am shocking. Its a lot harder than it looks snooker. At least with American pool, the pockets are massive.
