  1. The way Liverpool are palying they might be lucky to hang in the top four, they do notscore goals and when they do, its never more than one. You might all laugh at this now and if somebody else said it, i would probably do the same but, Liverpool will not finish 3rd they will not finish 4th, but they'll finish 5th with Arsenal finishing third and Rovers/Spuds/Bolton finishing 4th. Either of the two that don't make it will finish 6th/7th. Liverpool are not scoring enough goals to hang on at the moment, they have the distraction the F.A cup left, their out of Europe and their season is on a downer from here. If we beat Liverpool people may think i am talking some sense with my prediction. Arsenal are coming into some form at the moment, i think they are ready to make a real run now. 3rd Arsenal 4th Rovers 5th Liverpool 6th Spuds 7th Bolton
  2. Over the summer, somebody buy Bentley a gym membership so he put on some muscle mass.
  3. I would have loved to have seen Souey's face when Keys said that. In the words of the Eastenders of soccer am, all us Rovers fans would say "we love, we love it, love it love it love it, we love it, we love it, love it love it, love it." lol. Well i thought it were funny. As for why Sky hire Souness, i don't quite know.
  4. All Rovers can d is win there games, thats our lads can do. If the lads win most of their remaining games with the exception of the Liverpool & Chelski matches we could be ok for 4th palce. Notlob will slip up and so will Spuds & the ARSEnal but all we can do us hope our lads do the business.
  5. If we make champions leage we need strengthening in nearly all positions, as if we qualified past the qualifying stages and made the group stages we would have a minimum of 6 games on top of the League Cup, F.A Cup and the Premiership. Are squad is currently not of a sufficient size for that. So if we were going to raid relegated sides for some of their quality players i would take these (These all wouldn't start) CB/LB Matthew Upson RM Jermaine Pennant LB Matthew Taylor LB/LM Julio Arca ST-Emile Heskey-only if he would come on the cheap wages and transfer fee and would be willing to warm the bench as a replacement for Kuqi. Now i know not a single one of those players is of Champions League quality but a few of them would do us a good job in the Premiership next season, players like Pennant and Taylor would do us a great job at LB & RM respectively. If we do make any form of European football for next season i think are current squad could do a average job but its the Premiership which is our main priority every year, to do well in that. So we would need some players for a rotation policy between Uefa/EPL football to avoid fatgue drawing in on our currently small squad.
  6. I think that with two big games for Boro in a week, then having to come to Ewood may be too much for them. But it all depends how they do it Rome, if Roma spank them like they can, Boro may just be easy pickings, they'll have sweet fa to play for then, there pretty much safe, IMO its 3 of 4 who are going down now. The best thing for us would be if Roma take them to extra time and penalties, it would be gutting for Boro if they were to go out that way. Anyway to the actual Boro' match; Rovers 1 Boro 0
  7. Crap performance but 3 points, got to be happy with that. I have to agree with all the people who said Savage had a good match, he was excellent last night. I kepy mt eye on him for about a 5 minute period and when we lost the ball he was sprinting from side to side closing players down and then going after the next player when Bentley was standing off them. Savage can be a good player and i never thought i'd say that either. Pongo did have his best game for us last night, he did his best to hold up the ball, but then again so did Todd in our area literaly, lol. Pongo & Bellamy seem to be putting together a fairly good partnership, and as for Bellamy that is what you pay upwards of £4 million for, a man who is always in the right place at the right time to poach a goal.
  8. This is getting stupid now, we are all Rovers fans and thats that, well with the exception of that Newcastle fan that uses this site.lol. Who cares about how many away games you go to, and who lives in Blackburn, who cares? I agree with the person who stated saying that overseas fans were real fans, they spend an absolute fortune on coming over to watch games. I remember watching that Airline programme before and they was this guy who lives in Holland, but he makes the treck to Ewood park every other week to watch matches, a top bloke in my opinion. So just forget this bullsh!t thats going on in here about whos a bigger fan than another and just enjoy the fact that we have a MB to chat on with fellow fans. asianRover just ignore some of the twallys that say your not a real fan, you are, as long as you support Rovers you are. As to the actual topic, have you even started making your own kit yet and if you do make one/or have made one now, wil you post an image for us to see or send us a copy of it incase in infringes copyrights by posting it on here. Totally off topic again, lol, Can we have him banned please, he's offended me now, lol. Onepost this is, i'm student as well at the moment, and i get to as many games as i can, for a start i am at the otherside of the country admitantly only 2/2.5 hours away on the motorway, i cannot drive yet but thats for other reasons as mentioned in another topic on here and i am skint, but i still make time to get to 14+ games a season home/away. You really are a twally man, having a go at somebody and calling them a lightweight cos' they won't spend their student loan on a season ticket. Grow up man.
  9. He is a complete w*****, can't that man give the side any credit. One of our players of yester-year must have hurt him or the club annoyed him at some point in the past, as i cannot see i anyother reason for him having what i can only describe as a vendetta against the Rovers. it has not only been the last few seasons that he's given us stick. Last season in a way i could maybe understand his grumbles but the way we played last year kept us up, but this season he has no excuse. We have played flowing, expansive football in many games this season. I think the fact that we've doubled the Manure, beat the ARSEnal, reached a cup semi-final again and we've been as a high as 5th place doesn't say anything about the league, it says a lot about the calibre of our players and management. I cannot wait for the L'Pool match, because if we win and win without many problems, i'd love to hear what he's got to say about it.
  10. Lua Lua at Rovers, do we really want him. A Pompey supporting mate of mine said he has been shocking this season when he has played but then again he is playing a crap Pompey side. Benni yes i would take instead but he's playing at Porto. As for Mario, if he is being lined up like i said earlier, i think it would be because a bigger club is going to come after Lucas, who could blame them for coming after him. I'd rather we kept Lucas but Mario is not a bad larker, has a good first touch and doesn't shirk a challenge. But he has nothing on Lucas IMO.
  11. Whens the tourney going to start anyway cause i got my stuff on order now for the ps2 broadband thingy.
  12. I think that with some clubs there are obviously some very crap players but there are also some really good ones and the Whammers point, points this out. Just cause a team gets relegated doesn't mean the its players are crap. Sometimes it is a lot to do with the manager, the players he's picking, in what position, tactics etc.
  13. What do you need to hook the ps2 upto the internet because i got broadband/ps2/pes5 and i am the dogs ###### at pes5 and will wipe the floor with all of you. Can somebody get back on this asap so i could go get what is needed by this afternoon please.
  14. I would take Pennant any day of the week. Yes his off the field life is a bit messed up to say the least but if he can stay out of prison, he could be immense for us. He has potential and lots of natural pace/ability. I think Sparky could be the man to turn his life around. Put it this way if Sparky can handle Bellamy, who has been notorious for causing trouble at other clubs to the point they have off-loaded him, i think he can handle Pennant. I believe that all of todays footballers that have seen Sparky's way of playing the game and his spirit and have now heard about his managerial skills have a great respect for him and as a result they stay in line. Maybe it could be the same with Pennant. I know Pennant is a bit wilder than the person i am gonig to mention now but while Bentley was at Norwich and Arsenal, he also had a wildboy reputation, he used to be out partying a lot and it was affecting his game. he was making the press nearly every month, now since his loan/transfer to Ewood, that doesn't seem to be happening anymore. If people are talking about signing Heskey, i would say hell no, he was good at Liverpool, average for England and damm right shocking for the Big Club. I know he better than what we currently have in terms of a big man, but i bet he wants nearly 2x/3x what Shefki is on and Emile hardly produces the end result. Julio Arca!!! I think he could be superb for us, we could get him for 1.5m at the most and he would be a better alternative to Gray. Come summer we will be probably losing a lot of the wage account with the hopeful departures of Gresko/Amoruso/Matteo/Douglas(permantely to Leeds)/Jemal Johnson(Sparky doesn't rate him and i can see why)possibly. Theres a good 80 000+ a week saved there that can be better used. When was the last time one of those played for us with the exception fo Matteo who was starting until he was injured. Liam Lawerence-Good young player-bags of potential but is he really a player that we need to be signing in the summer. We do need a replacement for Tugay should he not sign his deal or retire next season, but i feel Bentley can evolve as a player and fill that role. He showed on Sunday at Spuds that for parts of a match he can be instrumental in our success but at the moment he isn't at the same level, technically with Tugay. I fell Liam Lawerence could be a potential star but he wouldn't get a game very often from the start and in the summer i am hoping Sparky signs players who will be starting and who will make a great impact on the performance of the squad for the better.
  15. We have one of the easiest run ins, but just because they look easy on paper doesn't mean that in reality they are going to be. We have to beat the Villa on Saturday otherwise the teams around us can steal a lead on us which would leave nine matches left with a deficit for us.
  16. Providing Chelski beat Spuds and Liverpool beat the ARSEnal, and we do the business over the other big club from the midlands, we are still in the hunt for a Champions League place. But then again anyone from 11th upwards e.g newcastle to spuds can get that. There is something like 4 points seperating us from the barcodes. Villa can be an ok side on there day and Phillips/Moore/Angel seem to have an habit fo scoring against us. I predict Rovers 1 Villa 0 Bellamy 89th minute after a tense but crap match.
  17. Yep i know that pub, you were a bit brave going in there with a Rovers top on mate.
  18. What pub was you in in Hull Exiled Rover? If we play crap versus Villa and win that will do for me next weekend. I am just grateful that our future as a club is looking bright for once and we can enjoy the end of the season instead of always looking over our shoulders at the drop zone. Also to be fair to the lads, that Spurs team was made up of god knows how many millions worth of talent. Just think they had a striker what they paid upwards of 7million of the bench today, we had Kuqi, no comparison. Well Done Lads
  19. It doesn't give me much joy either but i would rather look at the positives and not get angry as it is not gongn to change anything now is it. I do not really want to criticise any individuals really as we played well. If anything as i said to my dad before the game, we will only lose if we get screwed and we got screwed.
  20. We lost to a bunch of southern softies, big deal, all that matters to me is that we showed what we have the potneital to do and imo we coudl be a force next season for 4th place from the off.
  21. I am soooo proud to be a Rovers fan today, not only did we outplay a team in the top four for the vast majority of the game, Andy Gray and Martin Tyler (i tink) were giving us so much praise. We played superb for the vast majority of the game, causing problems with our slick passing. We were just soooo unlucky that, that fat porky linesman in the 1st ahlf gave them the throw in instea dof us, and be fair guys, Robbie Keane took the chance so well. As for the second, to quote a friend of mine at the time , "we got raped". The referee screwed us there and Keane got away with it. But in retrospect we wouldn't have won at Newcastle if MGP didn't handball it into the back of the net would have we? I would have really enjoyed the game had i been a neutral, instead i am absolutely gutted but there are a few postives to come out the game. Champions League football was and still is a possiblity but its not a bad season should we even finish tenth. We must also remember that we played with only half our first chance midfield four and still matched them man for man. Yes, Gray had a shocker but he isn't a good player anyway. He has played well this season, but i put that down to some extra confidence and not down to him being an improved player. Put it this way, its him or Matteo and i know who i would have everytime and its not Matteo. All i gotta say is unlucky boys and bring on the Villa.
  22. If the article is true, and they do want to sell, its not a bad thing really. When people say that there would be nobody interested, that is not exactly true. Premiership football clubs do not come on the market every week and we have a good squad, the team has potential and unlike many clubs the new potential owners would not be inheriting tons of debt. An example of that would be if somebody was to buy Manchester City, they are reportadly 70m in debt. Their debt isn't actually as bad as that figure sounds and is no threat to the side as the debt is well structured. I'd love it to be a fan who bought the club but if it where to be some mega-rich Russian or some Sheikh i would not be complaining. As fr those people who are having a go at that Russian who has bought Pompey, saying that he has only bought mercenries, that is not true, Harry Redknapp has bought those players not the Russian. He chose to buy them. Can you just imagine what Mark Hughes could do with a large transfer kitty, the man has an eye for talent and knows a good player when he see's one. I for one will always be grateful for what Mr Jack Walker did for us fans and for the club he loved so much but there comes a point when we have to move on.
  23. I said that we will probably drop out of the top ten all together. I only say this because if we lose to Spurs, it will put the players on a downer and with us having a small squad we could end up like Charlton normally do around this time of the year and lose to everyteam in the league. We also have to play a lot of sides that will be fighting for survival and they will be no push over. If we beat Spurs, top 6 is definately a possibility, just have to remember Whammers and Notlob have games in hand and Arsenal are no mugs.
  24. Get Mr Russian on the phone!!!!!! Sell Sell Sell Sugar daddy V2.0 here we come.
  25. Big Big Big Game, this match has implications on the rest fo our season. Lose and bye bye Champions League. Win and maybe our next home game will be a sell out due to the possibility of the lads chasing Champions League football.
