  1. I think we should give it at least the next two matches before anybody gets over excited over the prospect of Champions League football. If we win the next two games, i might believe the hype but if we lose or draw any of the next two games we can probably say bye bye to the Champions League. Just say we did get into fourth place and finish there, we would have only made the qualifying round and not automatic qualification and there are always some tough sides in those matches e.g. Villareal, possibly Real Madrid and AC Milan this season, the way La Liga and Serie A are going this season. We wouldn't make the group stages. Anyway that was totally off topic and is irrelevant, lol. Lets just see what happens on Sunday before any of us get too optomistic about 4th place. We could get brought back down to earth with a bang like we did at WBA after beating Manure at Ewood Park.
  2. I do not fancy our chances away at the Spuds, we are once again going into a match as the under-dogs, which imo suites us better. Against sides we are expected to beat comfortably we seem to under-perform, we kind of become arrogant. When we play a better side that "Arrogance" seems to go away. That all sounds a bit contradictory but i still do not fancy our chances come Sunday. Away from home we have really been shocking this season, losing to sides like Villa and WBA, teams if we are gunning for the top 4 we should have won without any problems. If and its a big IF, If we win on Sunday, i might start to believe some of the hype of us finishing fourth, but IMO we are the least likely team in the top 8 to finish in 4th place. Spuds 3 Rovers 1
  3. IMO we cannot make the Champions League, we are too inconsistent to make that, we have to go to places liek Sunderland and Pompey and we are never at our best against weaker opposition. Any slip up between now and the end of the season will mean that we will be struggling to keep in a Uefa Cup spot nevermind a Champions League spot. I believe that our hopes/dreams of Champions League football went away with the fairies after the Everton & WBA games. Had we peformed to our potential we would be sitting fourth with 49points.
  4. Spuds are a good side, but they are not that good, and they are not worth fearing. Yes they have some truely world-class players in Robinson and Davids but we can still beat them. We do have a good side and i hope MGP is fit and can show Spuds on what they are missing out on, a 20+ yard screamer from MGP. Arsenal are a better side than Spuds, Manure are a better side than Spuds, Liverpool are a better side than Spuds and we have outplayed all of those sides for periods if not whole games this season. If we keep there strikers quiet and Defoe can blow hot or cold, we could sneak a win.
  5. How likely is i that MGP could be missing for the Spuds game? We are a better side when MGP plays and he is a threat to other teams. We played well yesterday and hopefully we can keep it up for the last 10+ games of the season.
  6. In a sad and twisted way i hope Neill has a crap world cup if it means we can keep hold of him. He is one of the best fullbacks in the country and possibly in Europe in my opinion. As for Bert, if he leaves i will be a bit sad as he has potential and if he lived up to it like he did on his debut versus Wolves, he would be a good player.
  7. He's worth getting excited over, but he's not even close to the standard Duff was at when we had him at the same age as Peter. As for comapring to MGP, MGP is a better all round player than Sergio at the moment, it may be a different matter in 24/36 months time.
  8. He played versus Holland when the Under 21's played at the K.C. Stadium in Hull. I was there with me living there, he scored a screamer from about 30+ yards out.
  9. Abbey do not tarnish us all with the same brush, not all of us are unsympathetic for the guy. I am truly sympotetic the man and wish him all the best for the future. There's one level of hate that stems into football terms but there is a line and many people in my opinion have crossed it by laughing at him and saying how happy they are it has happened. It is the mans career ffs, thats somebodies son, thats somebodies father and they are laughing at him. F'in disgrace in my opinion. Actually on topic though, lets all just hope it doesn't go as far as amputation. It is going to be a long-time before he steps on a football pitch again if he ever does. Hope he gets well soon.
  10. How anybody can say that they are happy with what has happened to him, you are a disgrace. He is a human being ffs. I hate him as a player but at the end of the day he is human and for that he has my sympathy. I do not like to see even the people i hate in that much pain. I know the guy is a complete w****r on the pitch but he doesn't deserve that. Any of you taking the childish mannor of, "it couldn't have happened to a better person" should really take a good look at themselves and grow up.
  11. I need some advice guys how much would you sell a motorola razr noir for on ebay? how good is the Sony Ericcson P-900? i'd rather have one than the Razr iv got now, but would still like to hear some opinion on one.
  12. It was a great day!!! We looked at our very best that day and could have scored even more than the seven without. I remember the Forest manager saying after the match, he thought his side were "Unlucky". I was about 7/8 and i was p*****g myself laughing then as well.
  13. Ft Rovers 2 Sunderland 0 A good win tonight, a game we had to win to keep our dreams of Europe alive.
  14. Tugay off Zurab On Tugay brought off to a standing ovation, fans screaming "Tugay" I love Tugs.
  15. I gave up on Kuqi a long time ago. Great workrate, great effort-poor player. Stead should have just scored for Sunderland at the back post, if he connects to the cross its 2-1. Thankfully for us, he missed the ball by a mile.
  16. It should have been played against either us or Southampton. Soton would have been a nice touch, the club he started his career at and the club he ended it at.
  17. I think Reid just decapitated some poor Rovers fan's head with his free-kick. lol
  18. Stead on Kuqi on Pongo off
  19. How good is the goal, i missed it due to the buffering on my winamp.
  20. Friedel just pulled off a very good save to deny Sunderland. Not sure if it were offside as i have got French Commentary on it,lol. Plus the coverage has just cut out. lol.
  21. I am a Peter fan but i'd rather have MGP on anyday. But he has hardly trained and will not be up to match speed just yet.
  22. I have been very impressed with Arca, i wouldn't mind seeing him play for us next season. Looks like a solid player with lots of flair but a man who can also tackle. How long till Steady comes on guys? I hope he doesn't.
  23. Peter on for MGP
  24. I am not impressed with Sinama one bit, So far he hasn't been a threat. Sunderland are not doing much but Julio Arca is having a good game for them.
  25. Kelvin Davies just pulled off a great save from a Bellamy header.
