[Archived] Walkersteel Blackburn End?
stuwilky replied to Ben-2000's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Now THAT annoys me. Tantamount to theft. -
Ive done that. But only where establishments have those stupid cash machines that charge £2.50 for a cash withdrawal. There are very few "free" cash machines where I generally drink and I flatly refuse to be charged for my own money. But anyway. Anyone want to join the lovely first direct? Got some vouchers offering free money if you fancy a change of bank!

[Archived] Walkersteel Blackburn End?

Its not fatally flawed, it may be wrong, but it offers an explanation. Of course what Im disappointed Rovers havnt started doing is following the "Charlton" model. Effectively made the Blackburn and Darwen Ends price bands of their own (in the same way the Jimmy Seed and Covered Ends are at The Valley), thus making them "comparable seating". In practice it works better the higher the concentration of Season Ticket Holders there are. As matchday prices done affect them. Make the "End" price higher, but keep the side pricing lower. Ive not explained it very well at all. But it makes sense to me -

Its a slightly different one in the kids pack as it is in the adults. Kids have a different sticker (it says "junior rovers" not "proud to be a rover"), they have the face mask and clap banner and not the postcards. Junior Stuwilky is now very excited about using his season ticket on Saturday, I dont have the heart to tell him that he cant!! -
I dont think it upsets anyone Glenn. However, banks make such huge profits because they levy charges which are not reflective of the charges they themselves incur. It is their fault that they chose to ignore the Unfair Contracts Act when drafting their conditions, and as with any contract you cannot simply opt out of a legal right (apart from the WTD - but thats a different story!) Of course, when banks write to you expecting a reply the funniest thing is charging them the same fee they charge to write me a letter. They dont like that, but end up paying!!

I sit in the back corner of the Blackburn End, Row 25. The Nuttall Street stand side. -

Id be interested to see what the child matchday tickets are like. Im with you, although I dont agree with free tickets for kids. I think a token charge, be it a quid, or a fiver (ie taking the kids out of the categorised system), or whatever, is reasonable. -

The public of Blackburn have shown that lower prices make little, if any, difference to the attendance time after time. The problem being we have to increase revenue to try and battle on the pitch, otherwise we lose our better players because other teams will pay them more, thus leading to lower attendances? I challenge anyone to find a workable solution!!!! -
I blame SteB, they sat in the home end.

Perhaps because it is the truth. We do not operate in a vacuum or in isolation. And dipsute the flawed maths of several people the club make more money (and thus have a better ability to compete at the highest level) from 18000 paying £30+ than from 22000 paying £20 plus or 25000 paying £10 plus. -
What Gav is saying is almost, but not quite, true. You cannot necessarily claim ALL bank charges back, but where the charge is excessive they may refund it all, or they may refund part of it between the "old" exceissve charge and the "new" reasonable charge. Most banks I deal with seem to have reduced charges to £12 from £25 for things like missed payments, going over credit agreements etc. There is no need to register with any site though. Just a swift letter citing the case and mentioning unreasonable charges should resolve it. Unfortunately Im not entitled to anything, as I do what Paul does, anytime I get charged a quick phone call always resolves it.

I had a phone call from Orvil about 20 mins in. Agathe started, which surprised given comments on here... The first goal was a corker.

I would be, if it wasnt slashing the amount of cash the FA are prepareed to invest in local football. They are cutting the 06/07 funding for lower leagues by an astronomical amount. We've already lost Great Harwood, who next? -

I dont think one person is enough to make any difference. Unfortunately as with anything, doing nothing is tacit acceptance of the status quo. They dont know something is wrong unless people tell them. -
No mate, beauty therapist / masseuse!
