Not being a fan of the show and the question posted by sky? Any possibilities that the 4th player is something to do with "Dream Team"????

[Archived] How Many Have You Then?
Jammy replied to Claytons Left Boot's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
My dad took me too a couple of games in the mid eighties, and it's been Rovers ever since. As soon as I left school and got a job this enabled me to fund my saturday afternoons at ewood from around 88/89. Only missed a handful of home games since then, enjoyed a few seasons watching away games, but finances stopped that. -
[Archived] 2005/6 Season Ticket Sales

An increase of £25, plus no mention of half price programmes which is another £28.50 to me, definitely pushing it, finding it hard to find this year, but no doubt will be spending the extra. -

Apparently at 15:00 today there where only 8 tickets left, which my brother purchased 3 (change of work plan tomorrow), unfortunately all singles so we are scattered a bit.

Back to Andy Todd! After seeing the incident on sky, I must say well done Andy Todd for standing his ground, how many footballers would have fallen to the ground, rolling round with their heads in their hands?

[Archived] Rovers 2 Newcastle 2

I have mixed opinions about GS, yes he did a good job for us, but on the other hand left us in a bit of a mess. He is now a manager of another club which we play, my heart is with Rovers and I'm still there, so I will show no sympathy or respect to him on Sunday! A chant like "Thank you very much for taking Souness" to the tune of the roses advert wouldn't go amiss, surely impress the travelling geordies. As for the game they've been beaten again today and are not looking too clever, i think it will be a very close game hopefully rovers edging it 2-1. -
I believe that when he is not playing for Birmingham, he has attended Ewood and Accrington Stanley in the past.

I can't remember who's quote this is (or similar to this):- "Football clubs have been around for over a 100 years and we are only custodians of them for a short while, as long as you leave it in a better postion than you found it, then you've done ok!" and Tony did that every time!
-
I am sad to see Tony go, he has been part of the club for as long as I have supported them, the way he has been dismissed is a disgrace. Other than a few good luck message posted on here, is there any other way the fans can show there appreciation for the loyal Rovers man himself? Good luck Tony!

Went passed the "Moon Under The Water" yesterday (Thursday) it was closed and some building work was being carried out! I had heard that they where converting it from a Wetherspoons to a Lloyds No1. Not sure if it is open this weekend? -
If it was to Mark Hughes, and he made a successful job of it, how long before he moved on? (Fergie's replacement?)
-
Don't forget that souness always seemed to be on Sky as a pundit! Which would be more part time??
-
I agree with the first bit, JW also seems capable of handling the Press. But I'm pretty sure whoever we bring in, somebody will be able to find fault!

plus Worthington Moyes Megson all at clubs which have been tipped for relegation.

[Archived] Souness Goes To Newcastle
Jammy replied to Brownie's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
No I didn't think he would stay away, but he his on "Garden Leave" which my understanding is that he is still paid by Rovers unitl the weekend. Therefore I would hope Rovers have something to say about this! and I fully agree with the rest of your comments! -

Article in the Daily Mirror about a secret Meeting between Souness and Shearer discussing the Newcastle Dressing Room, thought Souness wasn't allowed to have anything to do with Newcastle till next Monday?? -
[Archived] Yorke To Celtic, No Brum.
Jammy replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
In the past when players leave without submitting a transfer request, an arrangement is usually made in regards to compensation for the rest of their contract. The stories coming out of Scotland implied that Celtic where going to take over the remainder of his contract hence no compensation. Birmingham paid a fee. The question are:- Did Yorke submit a Transfer Request? Have Rovers paid him compensation regarding the remainder of his contract? -
[Archived] Yorke To Celtic, No Brum.
Jammy replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Let's just hope he hasn't walked away from us with a big pay off! Celtic wanted to take on the rest of is contract which would have not entitled him to a pay out. But with Brum not sure?? -
Travelling down from Lancashire for the game (and a bit of work), but after today's game, we haven't a hope in hell, the refereeing comittee at the FA will have already decided!!! all I can say is "COME ON ROVERS", stuff it up em!
