Found some pubs in the Cherry Tree area like White bull and The station, how are they for a pint before game? Im coming from Preston by train and was planning to get off at Cherry Tree for a little walkabout down to Ewood. -
The thing about him that puzzles me is how Hughes could let such a talent leave but hangs onto the likes of Gally year after year.

Havent seen anything of the "old" Rovers so its like christmas over here, Ewood looks a bit different to say the least. Thanks alot!

[Archived] Benni Mccarthy - Gone
mattjansen replied to adam lodge's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
From Setanta: Hughes admits he has been disappointed by McCarthy’s recent form and believes the former Porto star will benefit from extra work on the training ground. "I made the decision to leave Benni back at the training ground just to do extra work,” said Hughes. "I just feel his form at the moment is not quite at the level it was, so he is doing a lot of one-to-one stuff and that will continue next week. "He will be better for that and be ready to make the impact he made last year." Whole article -
Great news for David, is he the first Rovers player since Jansen to get an England call??

If its a bad injury to Reid then we really need Dunn right now, seeing Mokoena play yesterday brought tears to my eyes. And they were not happy tears. -

Since the likes of Jansen,Duff,Dunn and even Tiny left the club the attendence has dropped, so maybe with Dunn back and the likes of Derbyshire,Nolan and other youths getting first team action is good for bigger crowds. -
[Archived] Match review: Rovers 4 Man City 2
mattjansen replied to rover6's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
The first half was pretty awful and Gamst saved us with his goals, Ooijer must be the unluckiest man in the premiership right now. Second half was a complete new match to watch, the introduction of Mokoena really made our midfield today. The man hardly put a foot wrong. -
[Archived] Rovers 1 Everton 1
mattjansen replied to joey_big_nose's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
The first hour was great and then the whole team backed home and just defended, remember one incident when Benni had the ball and the whole flank out right was empty. Not a single run from any Rovers player the last half hour, dont know if told by Hughes to hold it or own judgement. First half Emerton ran that wing up and down and after the goal he just sat back. -

Isnt this a good time to drag Emo back to rightback with Bentley or Gally playing right mid?? Better of with Savage and Reid in the middle then the lightweight of Bentley against Everton. -

A complete stinker from every player on the pitch, good thing to have a game so soon as wednesday so they can get this game out of their heads. Hardly relegation candidates after one loss, get real -

Spot on! Its quite stupid to include players like Jenas,Downing and Richardson instead of Beckham, those players will never challenge for a place for England. Bringing back Phil Neville really points they way for McClaren. -
