  1. Eyes Open is Snow Patrols 3rd offering. They did a little known album in 1999 called "Songs For Polarbears"....which is ok, but is a bit rough around the edges. The Final Straw is a great album , which catapulted them into the lime-light, but i`m really pleased with Eyes Open & is hardly off my stereo at the moment. The new single chasing cars is excellent. I am now trying to hunt down some gig tickets for Snow Patrol, so if anyone knows where i can get some?
  2. Just ckecked out the 'sporting-heroes.net` site out, looking for the Speedie era home shirt & found it upsetting that David Speedie is mentioned for about 5 different clubs....except Blackburn! He`s even on the Leicester list...& they hate him! Speedie was only at the club for a short time, but quickly became a legend. Is there any way he can be added to the Rovers section?
  3. Twoz only having a laugh some decent stuff come out of Sconny Botland.....Big Country were an 80s fave of mine. Anybody remember The Almighty? They were swetties aswell (i think) ?
  4. Idlewild.....great band Bay City Rollers? B.A Robertson? Wet wet wet? Deacon Blue?......hmmm come to think of it, you`re right!
  5. Jeez! All these years i`ve been singing it wrong...i`ve been singing "will we play the Burnley b@st@rds, No never no more!" I`m all embarrassed now
  6. Try putting Neil Peart into the search engine on Youtube, some excellent drum solo footage on there.
  7. As Jan said about 4 pages back (i`ve been away )... All i can say is , 5000+ people already have stopped paying it & i`m quickly becoming a member of these lost souls. Some of you might say "we don`t need fans like you".....my answer is "Maybe so, but how many more fans of over 25yrs loyalty can the club afford to lose?" I love & always will love my town, club & colours ....but i won`t be held to ransom for fear of being 'disloyal'.
  8. Watched a documentary film last night on BBC4 about the infamous "free" concert by the Rolling Stones at a speedway track near San Fransisco in 1969. The security at this gig was done by the Hells Angels & the whole day was marred by violence between the Angels & the crowd. At one point the music stopped as Jefferson Airplane singer was beaten up by some Hells Angels & knocked unconscious. When the Stones took to the stage, the violence flared again during their first song with several people getting hurt. Hells Angels with clubs & sticks waded into the crowd beating up all & sundry. The band stopped playing several times, whilst Jagger appealed for calm, but the fights kept breaking out. Towards the end of the film, a fight scene was shown 'again' but in slow motion, showing a black guy in a green coloured outfit pointing a gun towards the stage area (Stones & Angels were both on stage) the black guy was seen to be violently stabbed by a nearby angel, & apparently took one hell of a beating as well as several stabbings. The film ended with a shocked looking Mick Jagger being shown the slow-motion replay of the incident. A very interesting but disturbing documentary, that i`d recommend people watch...given the chance. The 60s eh? The love generation
  9. Can a moderator start a poll, asking walk-on fans if they are prepared to pay catagory A+ prices? ...As i think it`d be interesting to see how much it might effect peoples 'decisions' on whether to go to games or not...
  10. I`ve been watching Blackburn Rovers regularly for nearly 27 years. I love going to watch 'my team' but i refuse point blank to be blackmailed into paying extortionate prices because i`m 'not loyal enough'. If others are happy to pay these prices, then good on them, but i wont pay these prices...simple as that.
  11. I refuse to pay those criminal amounts of money. ...so i won`t go.
  12. I used to have a terrible nightmare that Rovers actually lost to their oldest & bitterest rivals in a serious competition , but i`ve not had it for over 27years now
  13. It didn`t load before, but i tried again......& it did. Maybe they could sell him 2 season tickets.....one for each arse cheek?
  14. Found a load of Macc Lads gems on Youtube! ...& even the magnificent (but little known) Eddie Sh1t! (still have his album)
  15. What? no picture? We need a picture! Somebody please find a picture!
  16. A couple of seasons ago, i had 26 years on my home shirt......a reference to our local domination
  17. People tend to get confused with brilliant musicianship & great songwriting. Both are two entirely different entities. Noel Gallagher = great songwriter, catchy tune maker, poet of the people lyricist but average guitarist (even he`d admit to that) Bloke out of M.USE = amazing musicianship (guitar & keyboard) great songwriter & "on a tangent lyricist" but not your average Joe. =both quite outstanding in their own field, but very very different. *some of the best songs have only 3 or 4 chords in them*
  18. Another great intro to a song is "Where the streets have no name"....U2 Many many moons ago, i saw a video of a U2 gig in a big sports stadium in Ireland (somewhere??) The concert opened up with an elongated organ (oo-err ) intro of the above song...when the drums & bass beat came in, the whole stadium (not just the front) was bouncing to the beat, whilst Bono shouted "up! up! up!". The whole thing gave me goose-pimples. That was U2 at their best. *also the entire promo video (L.A rooftop) is worth a watch on Youtube*
