  1. Rovers to reject Ferguson request It would be classic if this is the way it actually ends. Nope, if you're playing in anything blue, it's gonna have a white half attached to it. Now shut up and get stuck in.
  2. Oh, come now chocks, it was one of the first things articulated, both here on this board as well as in the silly tabloids, when Mark & Mark were brought in. One of those "it's just a matter of time" things. It made all the whiney crap coming out of St Andrews about tapping up, money grubbing, the "we're bigger so why?!?" stuff all the more entertaining. Gold & Sullivan were just incredulous about Sav wanting to come little Blackburn. You know, that club with 10 times the major trophies they have.
  3. It never was about the £ - he wants to play for Mark & Mark, period. And we all knew (those of us who didn't should have) this was going to come to be back in September when we hired them.
  4. A couple of goal judges (1 behind each net) would solve this problem nicely.
  5. I love this stuff: Karren Brady said: "We are all surprised and disappointed by the news of Robbie's transfer request, especially as it seems like he wants to swap Birmingham City for Blackburn Rovers, which I cannot understand. Birmingham's total trophy take: 1 (League Cup) Do I need to list our take? Translation: Who the hell is Birmingham City? (Sorry mods, but the "hell" just has to be in there for the proper emphasis.)
  6. his market value is three sheep and a haircut if he wants to play for Rovers, let him ask for a transfer
  7. You're right, we should put out 11 players in the squad every week, subsitutes really are a stupid idea. In fact, I'll get onto the contracters to have the bench removed from the dugout. The way we're playing right now, we cut put the whole damn squad out there (with 3 keepers) and we'd still get our rear ends handed to us.
  8. John Brown? Club secretary Tom Finn You guys may be thinking of Paul Egerton-Vernon, chairman of the Jersey Board or David Brown , who acts as a liaison between the 2 groups. But if my memory is correct, Finn is the only one who is a member of both boards.

  10. Well said philipl. It really is sad, isn't it.
  11. Souey was on Sky last night in a piece on yesterday's press gathering for the FNGs & the new kit. He said what he always says when this type of nonsense is reported. We've received no bids or contact from anyone for Andy or anybody else. Translation: Until somebody comes in with a bid for a player that is worth considering, the player is on my club.
  12. Sky showed 2 games more or less most Saturdays last season. Personally I enjoyed the away games when we could get to the pub for 12 watch a match, then watch the Rovers and then back in to watch another match. It's all personal choice but the facts are that Rovers make more money from being on Sky than they lose from the fans that stay away. I don't think Sky showed 2 Prem games on a saturday hardly at all last season. There were a few Midday kick offs and that was about it. I think there may have been a couple of 5.00 pm kick offs toward the end of the season. They didn't show 2 Prem games on a Saturday often though. There were quite a lot of midday kickoffs. I like those, since I'm an early riser and the wife isn't. A nice 7:30 match without her bothering me is heaven! I have to admit that although I prefer the 3 PM kickoffs(10 AM our time) from a standpoint of routine as well as tradition, this additional amount of elbow room that Sky has been given is brilliant for US supporters. 6 of the 7 Sky matches should be available for free in the US, with only the Birmingham match being a PPV here, and that's only for the first half of the season. We should see at least 1 Saturday 3 PM match on PPV in that time(yes, we get them - the blackout rule doesn't apply over here of course) and there's always the second half of the season and some cup ties if we advance a bit. Add in the usual 3 to 4 tape-delayed matches and it's definitely an improvement. 10 of the first 20 matches are still at 3 PM on Saturday. While this is not ideal, I wouldn't declare Saturday-3 PM matches dead either.
  13. Boy, I really hope I'm wrong about Beasley, or at least that others are right in that he needs a couple more years of work first. Considering the length of De Pedro's contract, that would work out perfectly, provided that no one big goes for him in the meantime. And the fact that this is a bosman doesn't hurt things either. GO JAVIER!
  14. Good. Now we can get to the business of Matteo & the midfield.
