Good performance away from home with that lineup. Wharton showing glimpses of what he can do, two great crosses from Leonard to start an attack, very good save from Pears and some good defending as well. I also think Travis is doing ok, but Dolan needs to come off. I’ll stick to my earlier comment that subs will determine the outcome of this match.

Saudi league will still fail. Sooner or later ManUre etc will come knocking for our academy graduates. Hope clubs in Championship and lower are prepared to play hardball when it comes to transfers unlike now where they go for pittance. Another good thing with all the so called superstars moved to saudi is that it opens up room for younger and hopefully local players to shine. Still….I believe this just a phase that will come to a brutal end in a couple of years.

I’ve got the feeling that most teams in this division are looking for striker. Are they really that hard to come by? Or are expectations from fans and club (20 goals a season) a bit high when you look at the money on offer?

I was really worried at half time that our young players would get a dip in confidence if we were to lose. Thankfully we managed to avoid that scenario and a draw away from home, on a bad day in a bogey ground is more than acceptable. We have a very good coach/manager in JDT that is overperfoming with this quad if. For some context: saw a lot of fans bigging up Boro before the season….now look at how they started this season. We would be fuming! Same goes for Sunderland and Leeds. I will enjoy this as long as this lasts. JDTs blue and white army!

Keeping an eye on Leonard as this will be a real test for him….again. Hope he keeps up the good form and scores again today. On Adam Wharton I’m worried this start might be a bit soon. He has that special thing about him but has been poor in defense. Prove me wrong today Adam! Otherwise pleased with the lineup. Was worried Gally might start and had hoped to see Gilsenan (sp?). COYB!!!

Great start to the season and despite wanting another win I’d be ok with a draw away from home even if it’s Rotherham.

Really impressed with Leonard and Hyam has been immense. All in all I felt we were closer to 3-0 than them scoring. Roll on 2nd half and let Adam come on and finish them off!

Even after weeks of chaos I still get a buzz for opening day of the season. Hoping for a good performance, 3 points and Leonard to score. COYB!!

He confirms what some of us has said for some time: Never forget that our players have personal lives that could serioysly impact their performance. In addition - like Ramsdale points out - you need a good manager. I often think when players are underperforming it’s related to something off the field on a personal level. Not an excuse but a possible explanation for some lacklustre performances from some of our players. But good find and a very good read. After all this nonsense with Saudi-Arabia buying everything at insane prices it’s good to see someone put a human face on football. Oh - loved the bit about his connection with the fans!

Think I got a bit confused there. So…never mind my ramblings.

No matter what happens today I really hope we keep hold of JDT. I think this has been a season of progression despite some of the most horrible displays I’ve seen in a while. We have been really good when on top of our game and often the youngsters have performed well in those matches. Here’s hoping we end the season with a win! Too bad some of our hated/loved/important players are injured. Looking at you Gally! Still…ready in my chair, day off tomorrow, sixpack, ipad and ready for kickoff. Envy those of you that are going. COYB!! Edit: hadn’t read the news Gally was ready. Really hope this is his last game with us and that he scores. My love\hate with that player will never be forgotten.

Difference between Adam Wharton and Morton, is that Adam uses his time off the ball to orient himself. Always seems to know where his teammates are. Morton on the other hand....
