What Souness says has fig-all to do with it, it was already the case long before he showed up. Wheter you can be bothered or not when proved wrong is immaterial. I agreee the fans normally only turn out in force for the big cup matches like Liverpool at home (the famous 'Jimmy Hill vs The Ball Girl' Atkins own goal) but I consider UEFA cup matches to be big games and if Souness virtually says "I can't be arsed with it I'm going to play all the numpties out of the reserves" then people aren't going to part with their hard earned cash are they? Especially after the fans creamed themselves over finishing 6th and qualifying for europe only for Souness to put the kybosh on it. PS. I'm not anti-souness in the slightest.
