[Archived] Chelsea 4 Blackburn Rovers 2

I feel Tugay had no choice as Chelsea were on a dangerous counter. Lose lose situation, as if didnt go for it and Chelsea scored, we would be staying why didnt he foul him. Im happy with the commitment we showed. Hope we keep it up. Btw, Bellamy is a real WINNER. At the final whistle he was visibly angry that we had lost. He wants to win every match and he expects nothing less from his team-mates. In the first half, MGP sent him a poor pass and Bellamy was absolutely scathing. -
Gotta love the excuses. I guess Peter Crouch will never score at St. James Park then... Defeat today, and its over. Sounds like Deja Vu but he has clung on match by match. It cant last forever, thats for sure.

Nope. He is still our best option and still one of the best in the league, although he does make a few slight errors. Dont forget, the free kick is a very difficult one to pick out and has caught out many good keepers out. Although, he should have done better, it happens. Also, Joe Cole's goal was a fluke. Against United, I would say he kept us in it with many saves other than the goal he let in. Overall, I would keep him in and his form doesnt warrant him being dropped.

Proud of the fighting spirit. The commentator said that stats show that Blackburn does the most running between all the Premier League teams, whilst Joe Cole leads the player department in that field. I thought we deserved a point just for coming back, but they have too many individual quality players and even if they arent at their best they can win. I thought it was Grays best game for us. I was happy with Zurab once again, he looked class. Todd was worse but was decent enough. Neill played OK too. In midfield Tugay ran the show, I was disappointed he was subbed out, but maybe he was tired, although he didnt look it. Reid was rubbish when he came on. Overall, if we take this level of performance and play against other teams, more often than not, we should get something out of the games. Bring on Charlton. P.S: Bellamy scoring regurarly can take us places for sure! -
Worst draw? Am I hearing people right? So United or Arsenal away wouldnt have been worse?

To be honest he is right about us conceding. I cant recall the last time we came from behind to win. Everytime we concede the first, I absolutely lose hope of any win. Mind you, we have Bellamy now, and there is some scoring potential with him to make something out of nothing, and last season it was just Dickov. Nonetheless, I would be surprised if we got something from this game. To me it will all depend on how Hughes surprises Chelsea. If he does, that is. -
Phillipl I agree. But thats an important over past seasons where we either drew or lost to those rubbish teams and struggled. To be honest, there are at least 10 or so of these rubbish teams in the division! Another group of 6 more beatable teams (on our day) and another 4 which if we get anything on them based on their reputation its a good result.

I would think Emerton has got his starting lineup position back for against Chelski. Also Can Tugay make it 3 games in 7 days, especially after two 90 minute run outs? -

Bellamy will rip apart smaller opposition like Brum and Leeds, and so on! Id think that at least 10 teams in the Premier League will get headaches from him and wont be able to cope with him. IF, touch wood, we keep him fit, I dont see a reason why we cant finish 6th, although, it must be said 6th doesnt give you a european place. Hopefully we get a good draw next round of the cup, and avoid the damn big guns. -

YES. Delighted that Bert has scored. I think being dropped might have finally knocked some urgency into him. Even better that Bellamy gave the assist. He can be really really influential for us this season with his pace and bringing people into the game. Now only if Jansen can come on to score. -

Just two changes. Brett in for Bentley and Todd for Nelsen. Jansen is back on the bench though next to Bellamy, Axe, Encks, and Bentley. We are really going for it I guess. Its good to see. Hopefully Jansen and Bellers get a good run out of around 30 minutes too. No Thommo is a surprise and no Reid in the 16. -
Henry is back and Arsenal could start to get some results going at least against "lesser" teams.

Hmm... I would give a run-out to Thompson for sure. It would ease him back in. Id give Reid a chance as well. I think he has been a little hard done by being dropped as he has been consistent for us if not spectacular. -
To be honest 6 points would be brilliant but Id take 4.

To be fair, although Dickov had too much to think about it, you never really got confidence in him to put those chances away... -
If Newcastle lose at home, then its bye bye Graeme. Though I can see them sneaking a victory, 2-0 I reckon.

Sorry meant Tuesday not Wednesday, and ya I was talking about Leeds. Hopefully a run out for Reid, Emerton, maybe Jansen and another Bellamy goal! -

Delighted. I thought we played really well in the second half, and good value for the win. Brum might have had some pressure, but no real chances other than the one save Friedel made low to his right from Butt. Dickov missed an absolute sitter for me, he should have scored, and a top quality striker would have. He worked hard though and I commend him for that. Kuqi knocked the ball down so many times and so many flick ons which someone like Bellamy can make use of, but that miss from Kuqi in the second half was poor just like against West Brom. Khizanishvili is brilliant at the back. Todd didnt fill me with much confidence. Though Neill was very good again and Micky too. Savage was brilliant running around. Tugay possibly a bit below par and Bentley didnt cause them any trouble really. Hopefully another win on Wednesday cause Saturday we might be put back to the ground. -

To be honest, Bentley has been barely in the game. Id bring on Brett soon. But first Id bring on Bellamy for Dicky. -

Birmingham have a massive injury list, doesnt usually bode well, cause we are usually the team that breaks ducks for opposition teams or players. Im gonna watch it live on TV here too. -

I cant see it being true. 15 minutes of fame possibly... Dont know. -
No Sky will have to bid for up to 4 of them if they want 138 matches. Who knows maybe they will outbid others in only 1 category or 2. No one can win all 5 categories, 4 is the max.
