Typical match which has had 3 points written on it for us, as many many other matches over the past two seasons. But I hope, it doesnt turn out to be like most of those games, where we end up with 0 points or even 1. I dont like this fixture at all. I think of them as somewhat of a bogey team for us. They have a win in them somewhere. If we have Bellamy back and raring to go, and our midfield playing to its potential I can see us winning it though. -

Havent seen it, but I think Im happy with the effort from the boys. Disappointed to lose by a late goal, if only we hung on a bit more, and didnt give away needless free-kicks. Hopefully, we will carry some confidence through to next week. -
I doubt he is feigning injury. No way.
-
Thats my point. If his injury was a very small niggle, I think he might have been a little more positive. Hopefully the diagnosis today will not be that bad, and he can be back for the Liverpool game. But at this rate, he is injured every other day.

Poor poor match in the first half. We went up two gears in the second half and really put them under pressure. We owe a thanks to Hughes' half time talk. Im delighted with the performance. Defensively I think we looked sound and never really under pressure except for the 1 crucial time Friedel was asked to make a save. Very very gutted that Bellamy got injured without anyone even near him. Looked serious to me. He didnt have a smile on his face on the sidelines near the end of the game when we were up and not even at the final whistle. Hopefully the two week break is what he needs.

Very impressed with the ambition in choosing Reid and not Mokoena or Flits. Thats another very attacking line-up. Lets hope it pays dividends. Lets go Rovers! Come on Bellamy, show them what you are made of.

Yes we got knocked out on penalties I believe. But, we have won every single league game in which MGP has scored in.
-
Then again if it rains, theres a chance they might score a freak goal and win it. Heres hoping Bellamy gets off the mark in the league and MGP continues to score. If memory serves me right, we have won every single league match that MGP has scored in and possibly all other cup games too.
-
Well it was a combination of both. United did lose the game but we had some good clearcut chances and could have scored more earlier in the game. Our passing was good and we showed ambition at Old Trafford and we posed a threat on counter-attacks all throughout. Too many times in the past, after a performance like that against United, we either drew or lost. Last seasons 94th minute equalizer comes to mind. This was payback.
-
Amazing result and I was shocked to see both Tugay and Dickov starting in what looked like an offensive 4-4-2. I hope we play with two strikers every week as Bellamy's best came out in that formation. He laid off some good balls into the middle for Dickov or the incoming midfielder. Overall, everyone has said it all, so I dont need to say it again. Just delighted with the result. I just hope we can bring some consistency in now. Too many times over the past 2 seasons, we have followed up a brilliant performance and result with a mediocre one against a less able team.

Put a tenner on it, Lee.
-
2-0 to United. Only cause we will play so tightly and virtually close down all spaces.
-
Didnt she get it on with Glenn Hoddle too?

I hope he plays a full strength team with a 4-4-2 lineup or a proper 4-3-3 not 4-5-1. -

I still doubt we will be relegation material as I think we will beat the bottom sides just as we did Fulham once we get going. But its disappointing to be involved around 15-16th, when with certain changes we could possibly be around 6-8. -

I thought 1-2 hours would let me cool down but its the same old story of the last couple of seasons. Too many disappointments but this one was hard to take. And we wonder why fans dont turn up???? -

Dear oh dear, I am an absolutely dejected Rovers fan now.... Cant believe we lost it that way. Im sure if we played this game 100 more times, we would have at least got a 0-0 99 other times. No finishing today from us. As usual. But to just throw in the towel like that and gift the poorest side I have seen in ages is suicidal. Newcastle were utter rubbish and couldnt even make 2 passes. What does that say about us? Roll on Man Utd... Utter rubbish. -

Dont forget Newcastle lost in the semi-finals of the Intertoto Cup this season. Lets add that to their list of honors! -

I have a dirty feeling that Newcastle with all that is going against them may steal this one. I hope to God that I am wrong. -

This match has titan clash written all over it. But, I think its going to turn into a scrap. Come on Bellamy. This can be your day to shove onto Newcastle's face. -

Shocking that we wont come close to selling out on Shearers last visit. Possibly Souness' last visit, and Bellamys return. No one cares? -
He hasnt impressed me in terms of a creative spark. He is a good defensive midfielder but him and Mokoena together virtually showed our ambitions. His set-pieces are really disappointing and I cant see why he takes so many when MGP is on the pitch. Still has a long way to go to justify his fee.
-
Poor poor match until the subs. I thought in the first half we virtually posed no threat, no build up and Boltons defenders were having a laugh. Bentley looks very promising. He has a touch of class about him and stood out between all our players in terms of quality. I think with the trident of him, MGP and Bellamy, things will improve on the scoring front. I felt sorry for Jansen playing up there alone. This was the first time I had seen Kuqi live and his work-rate and speed impressed me. But, like people have said his finishing is abysmal. Next match, I am hopeful that Bellamy will be back and we will play with two up front. 1 point away from home isnt all that bad.
-
Unlikely Bellamy will start and I wouldnt feel good about it if he did as he isnt anywhere close to fitness. I would rather he got 15-30 minutes at the end and start next week! Come on Rovers.
