  1. Win against Spurs and for the first time since I cant even recall, we could look up the table rather than down the table.
  2. Long live the King. Long live Tugay.
  3. Im so happy and relieved, I wanna cry. Toogs you beauty!!!!
  4. Im pretty sure he will be playing the free midfielder role! Lets hope he performs like he did against Fulham in that 4-3 win!
  5. Nelson in for Mokoena who is injured and Tugay for Bellamy. 4-5-1 it is. Johnson, Gresko, Flits, Encks and Gallagher on the bench. Come on TOOGS, show us you still got it! For a crazy reason, I just got a good feeling about this.
  6. I dont know about that. I doubt the board would be willing to fork out another 5-6 million on a striker so soon after signing Bellamy for about 4.
  7. Jansen not even in the squad. Already feel deflated about this coming season. I really dont see anything to make me feel optimism. Its been a while since I felt any real long-lasting optimism that didnt die off quickly after the next match. I change my prediction to 1-2 Fulham.
  8. Sky Sports now reporting the same. "At least 6 weeks".
  9. Teamtalk reporting that he may miss up to 6 weeks. Wont be known until the results of the scan are back.
  10. Is Dingle a nondescript ornament you hang on your xmas tree?
  11. Well it did say double injury worry so maybe the thigh happened after the ankle...
  12. My gut says its true cause Lee hasnt really rubbished the reports despite being on this board today already... Then again maybe he is busy or doesnt want to comment.
  13. Well its a loan so you arent paying much other than wages, which are usually shared with his old club. Getting a player of Nakata's reputation on loan at Bolton is a good bit of business. Dont argue just for arguments sake!
  14. thenodrog, Didnt say that. I think Bellamy will turn out to be a good signing but Im just highlighting something. Anyways, although we got Bellamy at a good price, just look at some of the prices some players have moved for this summer to get a bigger picture and some of the great loan deals like Nakata.
  15. Oh f........ I hope its not true. But so typical of our luck and us putting all our eggs in one basket, a basket that however good has always been fragile.
  16. Looks like it wasnt much of a penalty for Arsenal either. Damn, I guess lady luck's ran out again.
  17. HT at Highbury its 0-0 with Newcastle. Jenas sent off in the 32nd minute, for serious foul play. Thats the way to impress your future employers Can Newcastle hang on for a point with 10 men...
  18. I am going to go for my first prediction of the season and say we will win 2-1. But I can see the total opposite happening too. Here is the hoping for a victory against a team who will most likely be battling relegation by the end of the season and we might be doing the same if we repeat yesterdays appaling showing. 2-1 with Bellamy to score his first and MGP to score the second.
  19. I would think after yesterday that IF Hughes and the board had any doubts about not signing any more players, and they have a cash, they will act now rather than wait till January. I would think we need an injection of some new blood. Ahh, the disappointment hasnt waned since yesterday. Its disgraceful to lose to a promoted team on the first day. A big downer.
  20. Amoruso is not as bad as people say but he tends to make one or two huge howlers every game and if the opposition is good enough they will capitalize on it. Mokoena is a rubbish center back though. Todd is alright. Nelson is the best of the lot by far. Come on Hughes, sort it out! I hope he gave them a good rollicking.
  21. I think this might be the first time or the second at most that we have lost under Hughes after scoring the first. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
  22. Interesting fact: West Ham the only home team to win today.
  23. How the hell did we sign Mokoena as a central defender I dont know! Unless he played in a back three, I cant see him ever playing well at the back.
  24. 3 signings then, and none in attack. I would think we dont need a left back and can do with Gresko as the other two positions are larger priorities. I doubt that Hughes will sign an attacking midfielder though as he is banking on Reid alot. That leaves a damn centre back and the possibility of another striker. I have never been convinced by Todd as quality. I know he played out of his skin last season, but he was efficient, solid and consistent, and probably played to his maximum potential to reach those levels last season. I would have been happy if we signed another centre back as Nissa and Short both left. Oh wait, Amoruso will be back soon. Goodie goodie...
  25. West Hams squad is as good as the best in the league according to Pardew. On a serious note, I think they have a decent team, probably not the worst team in the league for sure.
