  1. Lost his marbles now sven has. amusing.
  2. we had kappa for a good three years... and i personally thought those were the best kits since asics...
  3. "THE BIG DEAL" = jason roberts? *shoot me*
  4. where does today's transfer dealings leave gally, derbyshire and kuqi? assuming jeffers is dickov's replacement, then roberts surely is going to play as one of the two starting strikers. so now we'll have to wait and see if hughes pulls another striker, hopefully of a better calibre, out of his hat. quite frankly, a 5 striker force comprising the above spells coca-cola. however, if kuqi is going to be traded, then roberts would be his replacement, leaving one of gally and derbyshire to fill in when required, and meaning we'll probably have another striker in. but i fear that the signing of roberts signifies that our original 'big-man' target, ie: mido, has already rejected us and that's all we're going to get.
  5. anyone knows why we are playing arsenal twice in three weeks?
  6. i dont know why, but why hasnt anyone mentioned robbie fowler? he's bang in form at the moment, looks really revitalised, and is at the very least experienced in big games. i'd have taken him given the situation england's currently in; well at least sven didnt take defoe, who besides being selfish is really quite useless.
  7. i guess i've grown accustomed to seeing red bits, especially on the outline of our home jerseys over the past few years, so i personally find this shirt a little 'odd' when i first saw them during the wrap up show earlier. having stared at the link above though, i think it'll grow on me (and others). Does look pretty good afterall
  8. is it just me... or does that picture look kinda odd?
  9. bennett owed us one for the penalty he gave for diouf's dive last season, so he's probably repayed us now. i thought both lampard and SWP (what a diver that little one is; convinced now that he screwed elliot over as well) went down way too easily, but mokoena's was almost a rugby tackle. how that wasnt given i wouldnt know, but hell i'm not complaining! but in sum, PROUD PROUD PROUD! tears in the eyes stuff even here in singapore. hopefully we'll not capitulate in europe as we tend to... but with sparky at the helm, i'm confident we wouldnt. now lets get some small club in the first round, and we can all look forward to 5 games in the group stages. anyone knows if we're gonna be seeded (ie: easier draw)?
  10. nah. he can afford a yellow per game. the cumulative yellow card system expired in the match against pompy, if i remember correctly. that said, the yellows for bellers and savage were appallingly harsh.
  11. pennant, but on today's showing, reidy did very well on the right as well. still, we'd need 2 players per position and pennant would be a very viable option. he, however had already stated that he's staying in brum despite relegation, but we've all heard that before from a certain brum player havent we? and dunny back on a pay as you play deal and a miniscule transfer fee too.
  12. what odds alan shearer to hone his craft at ewood first?
  13. absolutely vital that we get something out of the match against brum now. newcastle well in it. i'm depressed.
  14. on the showings of the last few matches, i'd go with bellers and bentley up top, with mpg, savage, reid and emo in midfield. bring tugs on when needed in the 2nd half.
  15. just FYI, we're on for the next 2 weeks as well. portsmouth and liverpool games both on espn. that'd be 4 consecutive games that we're on tv here. rarity isnt it? times are good.
  16. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=362366&cc=4716 this really puts things in perspective...
  17. Nobody likes us but we don't care! What character by the players, by sparky. To go 3-4-2 after going a man down, when we could have sat back to try seeing out a 2-2 draw, speaks volumes about the team and our manager. To pull it off and come away with the points, is just the stuff of dreams. And beller's first goal was top top class, how many times have we seen henry do that! Fantastic performance, what bottle. Keep the faith lads, times are good. ps: only downer was savage's sending off, but i'm in euphoria now so i shan't comment on that.
  18. he can start scoring after next week... dont want them to be in any kind of form against us
  19. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/tm_objectid=...-name_page.html very complimentary about us. thought you guys might like a read.
  20. i'm not absolving howard webb of any blame.. but wasn't he the very same ref who gave pederson's handball goal st james earlier this season? so i guess the axiom that luck evens itself out over the season has struck... or the conspiracy theorists might say that webb deliberately allowed keane's goal to make up for his error? then again, two wrongs don't make a right.
  21. Football can be such a cruel game. We certainly didnt deserve to lose that game, but we did. Nonetheless, I am so so proud to be a Rover. Yes, they fell asleep for the winner, but I don't think we can justly fault them for this performance. We've come on leaps and bounds in the last season, and to the board, give sparky whatever he asks for; this could be something really really special. And may i add, Bellers was simply fantastic today (i hope none of the so-called big, rich clubs are watching.) PROUD to be a rover.
  22. hey mate, does your nick indicate your blind devotion to thommo? sure alot of us like that man... but by and large, it was pretty obvious in his displays last season and this that he's lost it... the move to wigan was good for both of us. perhaps he might rediscover his form in a new environment. as for bert, we know what he's capable of... we just have to find a way of getting him to produce it consistently.
  23. Paul gets them over in great condition and efficiently mate. I'm sure he'll be able to help you if you give him a message. I got last season's and this season's shirts all from him through this website. Cheers.
  24. i was grinning from ear to ear when i saw that. it certainly looked painful as i was watching the match but it couldn't have happened to a more appropriate person. except perhaps, gary neville. sad, evil person i am.
  25. Dont think it'd happen. My guess would be SGE with shearer as assistant for next season, with roeder/shearer handling the rest of this season.
