  1. My mistake, I thought he managed Haifa for some reason.
  2. As far as I can see he managed them in 22-23 season - where they won the league.
  3. Someone who hasn't been mentioned (probably because we'd have very little chance of getting him), is Danny Rohl. He's done a great job at Sheffield Wednesday and we'd get to sing the "Danny, Danny Rohl" song.
  4. Is Ryan Lowe on there? I don't recognise one of them.
  5. Whilst part of me says Duffer would be mad to take it, it's almost a free hit. He certainly doesn't need the money, I think he is pretty loaded. If he takes us up, he's a genius. If he doesn't, he can blame the circus and walk away.
  6. I can hear the Blackburn End now.... "Karanka you wanker" It's a good job there are no words that rhyme with Waggott.
  7. He's been first team coach at Celtic and ROI assistant manager before becoming Shelbourne manager. He's had a good schooling for managerial positions I think.
  8. Derby will have paid whatever 12 months of Eustace salary was - I've heard figures between 500k and 750k. Steve Kean could buy out of his contract if he paid (or got someone else to pay) 12 months salary (That's the contract that is out there for all to view). I suspect the same clause is built into all our managers contracts (or similar)
  9. Duff, who played 100 times for Ireland, cited Blackburn as the most exciting club at the time, having won the Premier League in 1995. However, Duff recalls as a young apprentice, receiving first-hand digs at the hands of Chris Sutton and Tim Sherwood. “When I got into the first-team squad, they were horrible to me but in a nice way. I was on team dressing room duty and Sutton would be giving me abuse all the time. Instead of going to shit in the toilet, he’d just leave a bag of shit in the middle of the floor. So, I’d be picking it up. “I use to clean Tim Sherwood’s boots even though I’d be lining out with him on a Saturday, but during the week, I’d be cleaning his boots, and every morning he’d just come in and say in his Cockney accent, ‘Duffer you c**t,’ because I didn’t do a good job. “I was well-drilled not to answer people back especially in my first year. If a first-year even answered a second-year back, you would be sent to court and found guilty and you could end up being thrown into a bath with cups of piss thrown on you.” Character building. Maybe he can put up with the shit show that is the club now.
  10. I don't think anyone knows anything about who we are going for. I occasionally speak to one of the people involved in the selection process. He won't say a thing about it (he's usually very open).
  11. 2022: Was JDT one of the favourites for the job? No. Did I think he was the right appointment: No. Turned out pretty well. 2024: (Appointed quickly so no real betting market) Did I think he was the right appointment? No. Turned out pretty well. I'm not paying too much attention to the favourites with the bookies at this stage.
  12. Can you imagine beating Burnley in the play off final with Dyche in charge? Then all off to see them smash up the Royal Dyche pub in Burnley.
  13. I was just looking at Lowe's record. He was caretaker at Derby for one game - won it. Took the Stoke game when Eustace joined - won it. Took our last two games - won them. I still wouldn't want him permanent.
  14. Absolutely works. Go for the likes of Cooper on a four month contract. If we don't get promoted we are looking for a new manager in summer. If we do, we pay him from the Premier League money. It's a no brainer for me when we aren't prepared to give out contracts beyond this season seemingly.
  15. This is starting to look more and more like an "Allardyce until the end of the season" kind of job.
  16. He's only appointed JDT and Eustace at Rovers. That's not a bad success rate.
  17. What are you basing this on? On the occasions I've met him, he's come across as very knowledgeable about the game and players. He's been in the selection process for two managers whilst he's been at Rovers. Both have been good appointments which have turned sour due to a lack of backing from above his head.
  18. Well his first game resulted in Derby's heaviest defeat in almost 3 years. Long may it continue.
  19. Whoever it is, I just hope we are giving them a contract until the end of January 2026. Gives them an excuse to go when we fuck up another transfer window.
