  1. Jesus Christ, no to Whelan, please no. Johnson, Downing, Whelan - they'll all gas after about 60-70!
  2. If Williams is the answer at LB then we can forget about any promotion push. We may get away with Bell if the other 10 are bloody good and the LW gives him some serious protection!
  3. JC, for a second I thought we'd agreed to a Sunderland esque documentary.
  4. Still convinced it'll be Carson and this Rangers lad. Reckon Rangers GK and Citeh youngster today, then Carson over the weekend. Still very much hoping we bring in a big, experienced nasty bugger the back too.
  5. Is Butterfield still hanging around? Seems to have gone quiet.
  6. Rangers GK is plan A? Slightly disappointing for me if so.
  7. Made of glass though. He and Davenport would have made quite a partnership.
  8. Mixed reviews on Baggies forums but they all agree he’s been shuffled round too much and needs to settle on a position. As Neale said we really can’t stop here defence wise - we need an experienced head at the back too alongside Lenihan.
  9. Yep he’s my least favourite out of all the names linked. Would much prefer Hart as I still think he has time to turn it around. Preference would be Ruddy ultimately but we don’t seem to have been strongly linked to him at all.
  10. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17777347.rovers-transfer-news-keeper-search-nearing-end/ “The defensive area of the team could do with some competition and some bodies added and we’ll try and do that.” Bit different to the whole better players are coming in as the current players haven’t been good enough quote a couple of months back.
  11. Got to be - read he’s played a bit at FB too. Not exactly getting the pulses racing. Would prefer any Rovers delegation to concentrate on bloody GK’s and CB’s right now.
  12. New GK, Benno, Lenihan, Mulgrew/Williams, Bell, Evans, Johnson, Armstrong, Dack, Downing, Graham If they’re all fit I’d be amazed if that isn’t our team against Charlton.
  13. Brereton won’t start and I fear for Travis with Johnson now here too!
  14. Team starting is pretty much our 2nds though, no?
  15. Rothwell is definitely going to start this season on the bench isn’t he. Sigh.
  16. This is what surprises me most about their feedback; I always had Hart down as a bit mouthy if anything. He was always far too pumped up coming out of the tunnel that’s for sure. Anyway, I reckon it’s Carson who is coming in.
  17. Christ, I’m far from Hart’s biggest fan but some of the criticism of him on here is ridiculous.
  18. He does know that he'll be dropped in a dead rubber on the final day of the season?
  19. Quietly optimistic - just hope he’s not shunted out wide for the whole time. In a 2 up top formation I think he’d be very decent. Welcome back, Sam.
  20. Someone on Twitter responded to Sharpe’s comment about TM hinting defence is now not a priority with TM’s BBC Radio lancashire towards the end of the season. Here are his words in all their glory. Either he’s now playing a great poker face or he’s done the biggest 180 in human history: ‘Defenders, listen to me, I’ve got no defence, we’ve lost 65/67 goals, it’s ridiculous. New defenders are coming and the players who have done the job in the team this year, they know they’re coming. Why? Because they’ve shown they can’t do the job in this league.’
  21. Tuanzebe he ain’t (didn’t think we stood a chance in a million years anyhow).
  22. Rich Sharpe in response to someone asking about incoming defensive players: ‘Only had brief contact with anyone at Rovers since touching down. Though the last time I spoke to TM (three days before flying out) he seemed to hint it wasn’t as big a priority as previously suggested.’ *Shakes head*
  23. Neither are the big, no nonsense, tough son of a gun that we need at the back either and never will be IMO. Magloire particularly isn't that good in the air for a start!
  24. Very short sighted in today's market though; you only have to look at the profit the Bees have made on Konsa in one season. Full back prices are also astronomical these days too. It's like the V's are still stuck in the 90s.
