Very uninspiring yet unsurprising from Mowbray regarding the youngsters. Let’s play the tried and tested wasters then when nothing to play for.

Bennett is a good squad man - jack of all trades master of none - but he should absolutely not be a regular starter next season if we’re looking to progress.

I think those attributes you mention have got somewhat better since he left as he’s pretty much their talisman, Wilson aside. He’s got 11 this season already (40 odd in PL since he joined them!).

He’s had one heck of a mediocre season but let’s shower him with praise, Tony - he’s been quality.

I’d look to offload Leutwiler, Mulgrew, Williams, Smallwood and Evans. Out of those, if Williams is here come August I’ll be fuming - will prove TM is all talk. I’d obviously be happy to be shut of Samuel too but nobody will take him after a year out. I’d release all of those out of contract - special thanks to Conway and Downing but one needs the knackered yard, the other deserves a top League one club. Bennett, Bell and Raya could consider themselves very fortunate but we need squad players. We need half a new squad effectively. I don’t have faith that TM will have the budget or nous to fill the spots well.
