Rovers v West Brom 1 Jan 2019
G Somerset Rover replied to AllRoverAsia's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That’s got to be a huge positive then. Absolutely zero reason not to go at them tomorrow if their two best players are out. Still think we’ll lose mind, but it’s got to be a boost to a deflated team. Edit: looks like the outcome of Rodriguez’ red will be tomorrow AM. As they’re a big club in the division I’m sure they’ll go easy on him! -

Lightening quick Gayle vs. Williams, Lenihan and chums. Gulp. -
Re: the V’s not getting rid. Agree he would appear to be running the joint with Waggot but it only ever takes one advisor to get in the ear of Blingy/Madam for a manager to be potted. Also, don’t forget that TM had to extinguish their lofty ambitions during the summer. As long as she isn’t holding regular FaceTime coffee mornings with Mrs Mowbray then we should be okay.

Another festive sickener forthcoming here. Reckon the Baggies will run out 4-1 winners with TM bemoaning officials and our ability to defend once again. -
JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW

We’re calling out for 2 x true wingers rather than this striker come winger/inside forward rollocks. -
If that’s the case you’d be dismissing a fair few footballers nowadays and certainly the ones with a bit of an edge, which we could do with.
-
Mowbray’s handling of him has been poor IMO. I’m not defending his lackadaisical attitude at times but other managers have clearly got a big tune out of him at this level. Every time he’s put in half a decent performance he’s then been dropped. As you say, he’ll move to another club in the Championship and I’ll bet he’ll do a decent job. It leaves us with another gap to fill of a player who can make an impact at this level.

JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW

CF was my #1 priority but this has slid to number #3 in the pecking order following one disastrous defensive display after another. Number 1 on the list has to be a double hard, no nonsense, big bugger at CB. Closely followed by a LB who actually resembles a LB rather than the shower of sh!te we’ve seen there all season in two different guises. Next up has to be a CF who can challenge Graham - note to Tony - not to be shunted out wide. We could also do with at least one winger and a central midfielder to finally knock the King off his perch. Just how the heck are we in this recruitment position after shelling out the best part of £10 million in the summer? -
Yep completely agree. Mentioned it a few times - absolutely nobody is showing leadership on that pitch so the buck must stop with Mowbray and Mulgrew. Mowbray for not bringing any of the correct types in - just head nodders - and Mulgrew for not showing anything resembling captain material other than to bang a few free kicks in. Get some hard bastard in January and give him the armband. That will ruffle a few feathers.

Next 6 Games (January 2019)

We haven’t had a reaction - Sheff Weds aside - for 9 games. Can’t see it happening against the Baggies. Gayle will be licking his lips after watching Lenihan and Williams in recent weeks. -
I’d have still put my bottom dollar on us going another 20 mins, which would have taken us to FT, without scoring had it stayed 11 vs 10.

I’m being kind, DE given it’s the festive season! Certainly needs to win at least one - you can bet your bottom dollar though that the sane chain of thought is the opposite to what Blingy will be thinking. -

Same as I said in another thread, Stuart in that he needs to win either the Millwall or Ipswich game otherwise he should be removed from his post or walk. That would be one win in 12 and simply inexcusable given the outlay he made in the summer. -
To think some were marvelling over our summer recruitment!!! Barmy.
-
1 win in 9 is diabolical form. Will be ten after NYD. He needs a win from Millwall or Ipswich to keep his job for me.
-
‘We can’t keep conceding and then conceding again straight after’ said TM after the game. Be easier for the media team to just programme the same guff to come out automatically.
-
Jesus wept. Yeah, we never concede late goals Tony. And never lose.
-
1 win in 9. For the first time I’m getting twitchy. Just keeps making the same mistakes and cannot for the life of himself sort us out defensively. We’ll lose to West Brom which will make the Millwall game absolutely massive. Getting sick and fecking tired of it all to be honest.
