On one hand fair play to hughes for still not giving up hope of persuading him to stay...but on the other swallow that pride Hughesey and give the captaincy to a more suitable candidate. -

I think we should all reserve judgement on crouch's England career until he's scoring consistently against worthy opposition. He's done very well for us, but he's not going to be playing against Jamaica et al every week. Tonight will be a big test for him. -

Ive just seen the Bentley debate on another thread, and I really think that there's no way he would have been dropped-especially given that he was their motm scoring two goals only a couple of games ago? I could also have sworn that he was in the original squad when the news of their sqaud first broke, so unless he is injured it certainly is strange! -

Apologies if it's been asked, but why wasn't Bentley in the under 21's last week? He also has been taken off the squad list on the FA site. -

You appear to be right Dave. Neeskins also said that "Rijkaard is watching him very closely". Straight swap for Puyol or Marquez maybe? -

I think only a few are saying 'drop him'. I say take the armband off him NOW before it does more harm than good. Lucas has proved he gives his all in a Rovers shirt and until weve got anybody better to play left back he has to stay there. Wait til January and get rid! -

I may be re-stating my comments from earlier-but after actually reading what he said Lucas definitely needs that armband taken off him. I know Hughes will look a bit of a fool, but perhaps taking the armband off Lucas is best for the club now. For youngsters coming through our club, and for the younger players in our team-it hardly shows ambition that our Club Captain desperately wants out. It's become obvious that he was given the armband in an attempt to change his mind...and it is not working. Don't get me wrong, as i said earlier he's giving 110%, but captain? No way. -

How dare you Cocker... Or plucking a Belarusian Hotshot (rigged player) from a league of obscurity to go on and bang in 40 league goals per season! On a final note I wish they would take Savage off 48k a week. He's a good player on the game-but I always have to get rid of him because of his ludacris wage. -

Whilst Ive been very impressed with our wantaway skipper in the last few games...he really does shoot hiself in the foot sometimes. Its blatant that he wants out so why does he have to broadcast it in a press conference AGAIN?! I would like Neil to stay because he's a very good prem defender and it would take a lot of cash to replace him-but we need a worthy captain in my eyes, with the Admiral (obviously our club captain when fit), Friedel and Sav leading the way. -

I was quite dissapointed with some of the Rovers' players ratings. I thought the Admiral should've had tackling and marking 18+ for a start, and of course Gamst is a little overrated again...which we shouldnt complain about I suppose! Im looking forward to slecting a larger database to play from as well, because on the basic demo that I downloaded you couldn't attract or afford anybody to realistically improve the squad. Matty Taylor was about the only decent, worthwile signing that I made whilst with rovers. -

What are you guys making of the new demo? I think the games alot better, but I really hope that some of the bugs are ironed out before the game hits the shop son the 20th. For example Kelvin Davies is worth £8 million, and Arteta is reffered to as a winger?! -
Radio 1 newsbeat is harping on about how we and Newcastle have the hardest draw...Spuds is much harder than ours and we'd have to be dissapointed to not be in the top three in the group. Comon Boys-do us proud!

Remember on Thursday he was on the touchline holding his knee after another bad challenge from a salzburg player. Great win lads! -

Nonda's failed a fitness test , so it's Jeffers in, otherwise it's the same team that beat Salzburg. -

Great result-and Im glad that we have the chance to make our name in Europe. The team played very well last night without really moving into top gear-which is good news. I'm still however looking forward to getting Nelsen back-once his leadership and quality is back we could have a real chance of another top 6 finish. We're still looking a little suspect at the back...all of that despite Ooijer and Zura having cracking games, which is quite strange. Anyway, onwards and upwards!! -

To be fair although he has a history of wheeling and dealing, and he may yet be guilty-I don't think Harry did alot wrong to be honest. If an agent mentions a player that you like of course you're going to say the things that harry said. It's hardly like he said "Yeah when can you get him to slap in a transfer request?". To be fair Rovers should only be concerned with that n***head Harrison who Lucas and Toddy need to kick into touch asap. -

Pleased with the win-don't get me wrong. We needed the 3 points so badly, so therefore the performance should really be irrelevant....BUT as others have said, it doesn't take a genious to work out that our defence is an absoloute shambles at the moment. What is it with ooijer and Zura? They're obviously not bad players: Ooijer is deemed good enough to play in the Champions League and the Dutch first eleven week in week out, and Zura proved last season that despite the odd handball/penalty he is a good enough defender. Is it language problems? Is it that their just not vocal enough to help each other out? Are the full backs not giving them enough support? Should the midfield have tracked Bartons numerous runs? I really don't know what it is but one thing is ceertain and that is communication is a huge issue between our centre halves at present. After their shwoing yesterday I honestly don't know if we can just keep playing the pair of them in the hope that they sort it out eventually. I really think that Todd is the only answer at the moment as I really don't think that Henchoz will prove to be good enough...then again anything is better than these clowns at the back right now. From the highlights on Footie First it looks as if it was a little harsh to take Jeffers off as the team were all over the shop, and he even had 1 good effort that sailed just wide. Nonda did look good though, so a strikeforce of Nonda/McCarthy with Jeffers keeping them on their toes will hopefuly be good enough to get the goals at boro-to make up for the one's we'll let in at the back!! Oh and finally as good as he looked and is, Bentley is our very own Robben and Diouf-that dive before Nonda's header was a classic. -

Tugs has to be nackered-they'd surely be no other reason to take off our genuinely only creative player?
