I have to agree, that statement is either a smoke screen or more likely a surrender for the rest of the season. If you stand still you fall away. I don't suggest we go blowing millions again but there have definitely been deals done that we should have been looking at. I'll reserve my full judgement until tonight.

Last year's lack of transfer activity in the January window cost us massively, to let that happen again would be criminal. That said, if there's no money, there's no money. I find it strange a loan signing was imminent over a week ago but still nothing has happened.

If you were Venkys, would you give TM more money? I mean the last 2 cash signings have been massive failures up to this point. We can slag the Venkys all we want but if it was your money would you be happy?

Gallagher isn’t missing chances on purpose, He’s still relatively young and moved a long way from home. I do see glimpses of a decent player in there somewhere. He just doesn’t seem confident and it shows in front of goal. I’d love to think that he could go on a scoring run but it needs to happen soon because the team are relying on him to finish moves off, if not he will have to be dropped and we’re back to square one. The major issue is we’ve bought 2 strikers who have been poor since they arrived. Unfortunately with Brereton I just can’t see what he offers, first touch is awful, he gets knocked off the ball too easy and Mowbray looks more like scoring.

The thing is TM changes his team to far too often, we can't afford to do that. We aren't City, Liverpool or Chelsea. You look outside our main 11 and whoever comes in it often weakens our team. When Burnley and Sheff It's got promoted they had the same team 90% of the games. It's no wonder we look disfunctional, we play a different system week after week. Bennett gives his all but that can only get you so far. We need to invest in January or like previous seasons it will just die out to mid table garbage.

Im impressed with his first interview, seems to be a decent lad and genuinely looks excited. Lets see how he settles, hopefully him and Dack can form a decent midfield partnership. Johnson and Travis to add the steel also. just hope our strikers can find their scoring boots.

I honestly believe our poor pre-season has affected our start. For some reason we played league 2 opposition apart from Rangers. We seem to still be a yard behind in certain spells of the game. We are nowhere near top 6 at the moment. Our defensive unit is far too weak to be challenging for the play off positions.

Not signing a CB is madness, not buying a CB and selling one (if Mulgrew actually goes) is absolutely astonishing. Williams isn't a CB and never will be. TM is showing early signs of losing the plot.

Not adding to our defence is criminal.....selling Dack at this late stage is nothing short of suicidal. We are notoriously slow with transfers so if anything happens tomorrow I'm pretty sure the ball will already be rolling. Can't see us getting £12m in then having the capability to spend it wisely.

I don't know if he's been looked at or not but he fits the bill of what we need. We need a no nonsense defender, we are soft touch at the back and nothing has changed over the summer. I hope we aren't pinning all our hopes on Tosin who is still early ok in his development.

I thought Cooper at Millwall would have been a target for us this summer. He may have been an option and proved to be too expensive? If we do see an incoming at this stage I can only imagine it being a panic loan. Something similar to the Walton deal.

I agree, it's not even like it's a discussion regarding defenders. I am yet to talk to a fellow Rover who is happy with our defensive options. Either A - TM and MV have totally lost the plot. Or, B- we are playing down or defensive requirements to stop clubs hiking the prices for their defenders.
