  1. Both teams were poor but Luton had 18 shots to our 4. Granted we played most of the second half with 10 men, but even when 11 v 11 it was basically the same.
  2. Pressure's off. See almost every season for the last 5 years or so.
  3. Same old, same old. Start picking up the points again when it's too late. The predictability of this sequence of events every season we're anywhere near the playoffs is absolutely pathetic. I would say laughable but there's nothing funny about it. I long for the day when we have owners that can give a decent manager a team that has the depth, and the courage, to last an entire season and thrive under pressure rather than collapsing under it. One day. In fairness to the bottlers it's not like they were good today. Luton are just shit. Couldn't even beat us with the refs help. It's hard to congratulate the lads on a battling win after they threw away countless points over the past couple of months and totally tanked our playoff hopes. That aside, delighted to get the three points. Allez les annual futile post-collapse rally.
  4. Considering we are, imo, currently the worst team in the division, 0-0 away at half time against anyone is reasonable. The joys of getting Venked in January.
  5. Just another variation of Mowbray's "it isn't 1995 anymore". A way to make the club look like they are sensibly fighting against unchecked fan entitlement. The idea that anyone is expecting Venky's to invest at JW levels is of course absolute nonsense, but spin that narrative long enough and eventually the sizable uneducated portion of the media and the majority of the non-Rovers footballing community will accept it as a truth.
  6. You can imagine that being said to placate the unrest a little - 'well he'll be gone in the summer, then we'll start again'. The bigger issue, as was mentioned above, was that if Suhail and Gestede want to keep him then he's staying regardless of a break clause existing. I guess we'll see. Yep I said this a while back. We'll suddenly get some form going at the end, when playoffs are practically gone, finish a few points off 6th and it won't look so bad. The pressure to remove Ismael will be lessened and it'll be 'let's see what the club does in the summer before judging'. If we fail to win a game by the end of the season then it would be extremely difficult for upper management to hide from the fact they made a colossal mistake, and we'd be going into the summer with negative momentum.
  7. I don't think there's any chance of us going down this season. Assuming Cardiff lose tonight I believe it would take: Cardiff winning 4 of their last 5 games, minimum. or Luton winning 4 of their last 5 games and drawing the other, minimum (GD factored in) or Plymouth winning every one of their remaining games. Also the other teams above them getting enough points to go above us. Realistically it isn't happening - but next season we have to be favourites to go down if Ismael stays.
  8. Ultimately the season has been over for some time, and every defeat makes upper management look worse (especially after their interviews bigging up VI), so at this point bring on the short term pain for (hopefully) longer term gain.
  9. Injuries seem to have affected his ability now as well, sadly. Even when he has played this season he's been really poor. With that said, JRC is wayyyyy down our list of problems.
  10. Just don't come back out for the second half lads. You don't want to be there, the fans won't want to be there, so let's just call it.
  11. Ismael has to already be in the conversation for worst manager of all time from an on pitch perspective? Even Kean wasn't this bad in terms of results.
  12. Unleaded posted that Park left because of JE. Now we've got this fella suggesting JP got on with JE and actually had issues with Gestede...
  13. Me too, I just doubt it will happen.
  14. The season is over now. Ideas of planning for the summer with a new manager asap are nice in theory, but forget the reality of what our club is now and who is driving the ship. We'll be a circus whether Ismael is sacked now or in two months, and at this point we're only getting chancers and desperados in. We had a chance of attracting a top name this time around due to our league position - next season we'll rightly be favourites to go down unless the budget massively increases along with boardroom competency. Nobody who cares about their reputation is going to want to touch us. There will still be tons of applicants as it's a championship club position, but it'll be another gamble at best, and the same people will still be running the show above the manager regardless. Until Venky's leave this is just rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. They have to go before we have any hope of recovery.
  15. If they get rid now they'll look like absolute clowns (well, even more than usual) after literally just doing those sit downs talking about how Ismael ticked all the boxes, top bloke, etc. Rudy's position in particular would become instantly untenable (if not here then anywhere else - not that he'd be tenable in this position at many other places to begin with). If there's any hope of giving him the boot I feel it's more likely be further towards the end of the season when more time has passed.
  16. Crazy to think that we won six games in a row between Nov 9 and Dec 14. Since then we've lost 12 out of 19 games. Our lads bloody love a good death spiral. Granted 5 of those 12 defeats have come under this joke of a manager.
  17. Sad times when a letter, which was probably AI generated, looks set to be the highlight of this bloke's time here.
  18. Not even sure what Ismael says at half time. "Win this one and I'll resign" might be the only thing that would do the trick, as these players are not interested in playing for him at all.
  19. It's almost like the players are doing it on purpose at this point.
  20. Insulting to genuine supporters, frankly. The brass neck on this guy. You were here for a cup of tea and left as soon as you could mate. Your goals won us nothing other than more mid-table mediocrity. You aren't a club legend nor do you have any reason to "be a fan" of the club, considering how quick you were to leave the first time around. The only reason you're here now is because no other club at this level is shambolic enough to give a total no-mark like you such a lofty position. As far as I'm concerned you care about career advancement, nothing else, and for the record that's fine. I don't expect employees to have the same loyalty fans have - but nor do I want or need employees claiming equal passion as genuine fans when it's obviously not true.
  21. It's fine for you to have that stance, but it also means logically you'd have to accept a player being written off in the same time frame. You can't say it's ok to make a positive judgement in such a short time, but not a negative one.
  22. I found the response to question about Venky's potentially selling quite interesting. It was not the usual defiant 'no'.
  23. What a weird, strangely creepy video. Is it necessary for the Venky's logo to be in the top corner? Why are the three of them sat across from the camera like the viewer is attending a virtual job interview or interrogation? Waggott giving the old "I'm not angry, just disappointed" parent routine is ridiculously dumb. Almost everything he said was vapid nonsense and ironically destroyed his repeated claim that open dialogue with him is worthwhile. Suhail and Rudy, another two who appear to be masters of talking a lot whilst saying nothing. They had plenty of time to prepare for this. It's either contempt or incompetence that leads to these pointless answers to mostly softball questions.
  24. WATR/The Trust already called for Venky's to leave in their previous statement, so they seem to be broadly aligned with the general sentiment of the recent coalition of groups. It would be helpful for them to explain why they opted against being a part of the latest call to action, as otherwise it just allows speculation to grow. This could be harmful to WATR long-term if people begin withdrawing donations under assumptions that may not be true. I'd urge them to get their view of current events out there sooner rather than later. Transparency is always important, but even more so in the current climate.
