They went even further 2 years ago when we took 6,000 for Lambert's first game. Police went into the Black Bull on Friargate to round up Rovers fans and they were marched to Deepdale.

They probably recommend it as away friendly. I've been in there for a drink on a Saturday when Wolves were in town. There was no trouble in the pub. The strong arm tactics came later when half cut fans tried to make their way into town and were encouraged to use the bus.

There is a large police presence on Preston station every Saturday during the football season, even when Preston are away, many other fans change there. Those who appear to be travelling to Deepdale are routinely stopped and pointed in the direction of the Vic and Station. Take a look for yourself if you don't believe me.

Its bloody obvious. They're not after 70 year old ladies. Have you ever travelled by train on a Saturday? Visiting footie fans have been marched to grounds with police escorts for over 40 years.

It's a tactic used for large numbers of visitors arriving by train. Before this they used to be marched to and from Deepdale via Fishergate and Deepdale Road. Must think the buses are an easier option.

This has been done many times at Preston for different clubs fans travelling by train. I've seen it for Wolves. They get kept in the Vic and Station until after 2.00 and then herded on to double deckers parked outside with loads of police and dogs preventing anyone trying to break away and walk it.
