  1. Saw one Thurs morning on Bolton Road paws up - is the tide turning?
  2. That would be the one when you lost your specs on the Blackburn End. After 5 minutes of mad celebrating I found 'em - intact!
  3. Don't despair. In my 28 years experience, suuccessful Rovers sides generate increased crowds after Christmas. Half-season tickets will play a part in this.
  4. Why would anyone want to take a holiday in Reading?
  5. The toothless wonder. Hope his record stands forever. I passed the link on to my mate who sent it to Saxton snr.
  6. Under 16 tickets £1 every game. Coach travel to Ewood £1 flat rate from all parts of Lancashire.
  7. THEY MAKE US LOOK LIKE A CRAPPY CONFERENCE OUTFIT. ABBEY'S STOPPED SINGING. STU WILKY'S STOPPED SINGING. HOW MANY MORE?
  8. Along with Abbey, I've started many songs on the crush barriers of the old BBE. There was always the right side and the left side singing - there still is - and you had to keep the song going until both sides caught on - some got the whole end singing, some didn't. A drummer in the middle makes this near impossible. If the drummer gets a free ticket he is always going to be wearing rose tinted glasses. Thankfully the end is nigh. It will take a long time for the singing to recover.
  9. I first heard it outside the pub across the road from The Dell. Can't remember which season though.
  10. In the Dalglish years, a family of five Burnley fans had season tickets behind us in the BBE lower. They vanished when Shearer left. Doubt that they'll be back. Wonder how many others like that there were?
  11. I don't need to read it. Give it a go and see the result.
  12. Furnell, Saxton & Randell ring a few bells.
  13. Like I said, read The Soccer Tribe, you might just see the light and change your mind.
  14. Billy (although he doesn't realise it) is slowly destroying the BBE choir (with the backing of the club!). The timing issue is only part of it (try sitting 2 or 3 blocks from Billy and his kindergarten and judge for yourselves). Anyone with any doubt should read The Soccer Tribe by Desmond Morris. There are chapters on synchro clapping and chanting all over the world. The club ground in England that has retained most atmosphere is Anfield (no drums). When fans are driving the tempo (at Ewood or anywhere else) they can lift the tempo as they or the game dictate(s), just as they did in the 80's and 90's. This is impossible with a drum which invariably beats too slowly, losing the urgency of the crowd and killing the song early.
