v Rotherham Utd (h) - 1/1/24
alcd replied to wilsdenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If we can't beat Rotherham at home the next season will be in L1. Having Brittain as a wide forward never works. -
We are going down (the pessimism thread)
alcd replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Report says Rotherham outplayed Sunderland and unlucky not to win. As in the Prem, the teams at the bottom of the Championship have improved performances and results in recent weeks. I suspect many on here think that 3 points against Rotherham is a gimme. Think again. I don't see this patched up, inexperienced and often shambolic back four/keeperkeeping a clean sheet against this very direct Rotherham attack. -

John Eustace turned Birmingham from a shambles into a more than solid team. -

Just delusional to think that Cooper would take this job. -

If QPR maintain their improvement under new manager they could be coming to Ewood in early February within a few points. Mostof the other teams currently below us are already within 3 points. -

Not in 16/17 when we went down with 51! -

Only 10 points above revitalised QPR (taking a point at Ipswich tonight) , 6 above Hudds who've just thrashed us, and only 3 points above Brum in 20th place. Fail to beat Rotherham (who are much improved recently) and we'll be well and truly in the relegation mix. Talk of playoffs is completely delusional. The defence is utter rubbish with Hyam looking like a L2 defender. -
That *was* the January Window

Might be called back if Bournemouth sell Lloyd Kelly who's in the final year of his contract and mucj sought-after. -

Walstedt actually makes some decent saves that Hilton wouldn't make. But he also fumbles and spills routine situations on a regular basis. He's worth at least a goal start for the opposition. -

They let us have the ball playing in front of them. Then when possession id lost, break quickly and leave the cart horses (Brittain, Carter and Pickering) trailing behind. It's simple but effective and Tomasson is evidently too stubborn or dim to do anything about it. Keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.... -

More relevantly we probably need another 6 wins to be sure of staying up. Hoping the playoffs with this squad is delusional. -

Siggy contributes nothing except an occasional goal and is as soft as shit (ditto Brittain). Moran is worse than both. Ennis couldn't trap a bag of cement and continually loses possession. Pickering is so slow and clearly targeted for that reason. There is no discipline as yellow cards are incurred for utterly pointless infringements with "shit for brains" Brittain a repeat offender. And as for Walstedt..... Apart from that it's not too bad. -

Defeats at home to Rotherham and Cambridge in the New Year will really set the alarm bells ringing. Wouldn’t bet against it. -

Might be better if he did. Seems to have given up which is understandable given the lack of support from the owners. -

Brittain is as feeble as any I can recall in a Rovers shirt. -

This is as bad as Boxing Day at Barnsley. Relegation awaits. -

Utterly shocking goalkeeping. Sunday morning league from Walstedt yet again. -

Does Walstedt have mittens for gloves or is he missing a few fingers? Completely incapable og holding onto anything. A goalkeeper who can't catch is a chocolate teapot. -

Hyam played against Watford so that's not sn addition. Gallagher won't last 20 minutes before he's sitting down rubbing his leg. Who said Pickering will be back. With this squad any absence seems to be 3 weeks minimum. -

Need 6 wins to be sure of avoiding relegation. Looking a tall order with this threadbare squad and calamity keeper. -

Wahlstedt can't hold on to anything. Happens time and again. -
Buckley was substituted late in the win over QPR with what is believed to be a long term injury. Doesn't look like he'll be coming back in January.

Apart from Rotherham at home in New Year I don't see much coming from a resurgent Watford at home followed by two away at Hudds and Hull.
