v Sheffield Utd (a) - 23/2/22 - Match Preview

I doubt anyone will take a risk on Dack this summer. Of greater concern is that the close season looks like being chaos as Waggott would follow Mowbray out of the door so that by the end of June there will be no manager and no CEO to appoint one although in reality that probably falls to the Global Adviser Suhail Pasha. Looks like a shambolic close season and a trolley dash for the leftovers in August. -

I agree that for this toothless team to get into the playoffs would simply prolong the inevitable. -

Gallagher is a so-called striker who doesn't have the bottle to take a penalty. Amateurish to give the responsibility to a kid. Mowbray is a born loser who can't help himself. -
Gallagher was overpriced and a total waste of £5m. His contribution against WBA was utterly dismal as he continually lost possession. No aerial presence no awareness no bottle.

I would expect 77 points to be enough for a playoff place this season. So 6 or 7 wins and a few draws. It's more difficult than it sounds particularly if the goals dry up as they have done since Xmas. I suspect that of the current top 9, Rovers, Hudds and WBA will be the ones to miss out.

Arma used to be repeatedly offside in his first couple of seasons but eventually learnt to time his runs.
-
Er, didn't quite pan out that way with Nyambe did it? He was far better than Lenihan would have been with all his reckless challenges and needless yellow cards.
-
Looks like Wharton had been watching Derek Williams heading technique.
-
Gallagher has conceded possession every single time. Its like playing with 10. Also JRC is way out of depth at this level. Utterly clueless. Get Dolan on.
-
He didn't want to come here. Can't do anything about that. Maja might have been a different story....

v Nottingham Forest (h) - 9/2/22

Rovers are a mid-table team which had a purple patch - against some of the weakest teams such as Pboro/Brum- and is now "reverting to the mean". Time is up for Mowbray. -

No end product from Rothwell - again. -

He's a headless chicken. Poor ball control and lacks composure. Probably even worse than JRC at wing back - and that's not saying much. On his showings so far - and I doubt he'll improve - there's no way he should be signed to replace Nyambe. -

Really? A very low bar as Wharton looked League 1 standard this evening -

Ayala has to be better then Lenihan on recent form. Just needs to avoid injury (again). -

No way that there will be any interest in Lenihan from the PL this summer. -

Buckley looks like he's in Dreamland at times. Lacks awareness and is always back on his heels when a chance presents itself. No chance of PL clubs being interested in him until he shows more conviction. -

Forests performance levels against Cardiff and Leicester were poles apart. Depends which team turns up. Cardiff pressed really hard and just managed to stifle the Brennan/Spencer combination that wrecked Leicester. -

The match is tomorrow so he'll have a long wait. -

Gallagher is the only player in the entire squad who has a proper shot in his boots. -

Dack will take at least 2 months to get to full speed from the time he makes his first appearance. Gallagher gets better with every game he doesn't play. Where does Giles fit into this 3-5- 2 formation when Pickering's back? -

You're an optimist! Lose to Forest on Wednesday and its nailed on that a playoff place is gone. -

Wharton is the new Derek Williams when it comes to heading the ball like a 50p piece in the oppostion box. -

We'll be looking up at the play-ff places by the time we've played Fulham at the beginning of March. There is a lack of goalscorers in the team apart from Brereton - and even that has dried up. The "false 9" Buckley couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. I've seen more powerful shots at my walking football. He never makes a run to gamble on a cross into the six yard box. Rothwell plays far too deep and frankly looks nothing like a Premier League player. The failure to bring in an established goalpoacher like Maja will see us failing to even make the playoffs. -

Buckley can be brainless at times. Should have been booked for needlessly kicking the ball away, appealing for a pen after diving and then a ridiculously casual attempt in front of an open goal.
