  1. I’m going to stick my neck out and predict that Liverpool will win the final by at least 3 goals.
  2. Is this old news? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61317194
  3. Chase and Status - Mixed Emotions
  4. I was in the posh seats (as they were known then!) with my then-brother-in-law. He ran the Celtic youth team at the time.
  5. 100% not true. If you remember, his leaving Liverpool came as a bolt out of the blue - Kenny didn't even speak to Peter Robinson (LFC Chairman) to tell him he was resigning until just a few hours before it was announced. I would be astonished (and in some ways disappointed in him) if he had spoken to Rovers before then. It wouldn't make sense anyway, Liverpool were top dogs in England at that point. Kenny didn't leave them for football reasons, which has been well documented. I think Liverpool were surprised (and a little aggrieved) that he returned to another job relatively quickly - they offered him a break or a sabbatical when he tendered his resignation.
  6. 100% not. He resigned in February 1991 and Souness took over as manager there in April of the same year.
  7. I think you may have missed the irony in my post mate. I married into a Sellick family.
  8. Super Ally did quite well at Rangers, I always thought. Albeit in extremely strange circumstances.
  9. That was my first ever visit to Celtic Park Mark!
  10. Is it too early to say I saw Wayne and Colleen looking at houses in Wilpshire the other day?
  11. They are medics though, not football people as such, to be fair. All depends what job they are moving from/to I suppose.
  12. Thankfully we've pretty much ensured first innings parity. Be a good game to win now!
  13. With some players, you just know they are going to be good managers. Kompany is one of them, I think he'd be a terrific appointment for you lot.
  14. High - Full Member's Cup Final. It was the first time I'd seen the Rovers at Wembley and I must admit I was very emotional when Killer lifted the trophy wearing our famous blue and white shirt. The play-off final of 1992 ran it very close to be fair. Low - "Glad All Over" (if you know, you know). Sublime - I never thought I would witness Rovers as champions of England, but there was a 4 year build up towards that so my sublime moment is actually when King Kenneth Matheson Dalglish was unveiled as Blackburn Rovers manager to an incredulous crowd at Ewood just before a game against Plymouth. Witnessing the quite different talents of Messrs Shearer and Kerimoglu in a Rovers shirt were also moments that I will cherish forever.
  15. The Belle Stars - Sign of the Times
  16. I didn't know where to post this but if anyone is interested in what should be a good night, while raising money for Tony Parkes, there is an 'Evening With David Speedie' event on in Blues Bar at 7pm on Friday 6th May. It so happens that I'm on a rare visit home that weekend so I'll be there.
  17. The Good, The Bad and the Queen - Kingdom of Doom Could be about Blackburn actually....
  18. The lad who played the 'Paul Weller' part in The Jamm was called John Southern. He sadly passed away of cancer at a young age. They were always regarded as the best of the Jam tribute bands, although there is a young group 'Band Called Malice' who pretty much nail it these days.
  19. Utter nonsense that thankfully, I have no idea where you have pulled that false memory from. As for his latest work being dull, music is obviously subjective but I can't think of another artist in their 60s who is still releasing credible new material on a regular basis and I include Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello in that. Weller did go through a period in the late 90s/early noughties where it all got a bit 'samey', and I don't like everything he's ever done (I didn't like everything The Jam did either to be fair) but I'm assuming you haven't heard his latest offerings? If you liked his early solo stuff you should check out the albums On Sunset and Fat Pop Volume 1.
  20. Good call mate
  21. The clue is in my username and the ASS clue is in yours šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  22. Hedges is a decent player played in the correct position.
  23. Joe Tex - You're Right Ray Charles
