Very brave of you to publicly admit to addiction issues, and whatever else might go on in BRFCS land, I think when it comes to something like this you will receive much empathy and support. In fact, a few posters shared stories of alcoholism and the problems it has brought to them and their families in a recent thread (apologies, I can't quite remember which one it was). This included me, who lost my older brother at the age of 41 to alcohol related illness. I wouldn't describe myself as an alcoholic but I do have a love/hate relationship with booze and I do drink too much of the hard stuff at times. Happy to listen to anything you want to talk about mate, just send a DM. I can't promise to have any answers but I can promise to be a sounding board. Good luck and well done.

I want Mowbray out as much as anyone and I understand the point you are making but fair’s fair, you can’t just discount or disregard every victory to suit the narrative. We also won a couple of dead rubbers at the end of last season which presumably you don’t count either? -

If we sign this Bryan lad he should be made to change his first name by deed poll. -

For no discernible reason I really fancy us to turn Forest over. 3-1 to Rovers with big Diaz coming back to haunt the Forest faithful and have them scratching their heads at where they might have seen this Chilean lad before, and Clarkson to mark his first game for his boyhood club with a late clincher after coming on as sub. -

No football club should be able to secure a 6 year old. Full stop. Rovers not culpable here for a change. -

Of course they didn’t - but that wasn’t my point was it? Maybe I should have prefixed it with “If things don’t work out for him at Rovers”…… -

Good post. Can't agree with the bit I've highlighted though. The fact that he is a Rovers fan might not be the most important factor but it cannot possibly be irrelevant. If nothing else, it ought to mitigate any accusations of him being a 'Billy Big Boots' or 'just using Rovers as a stepping stone' or 'what does it matter to him how we get on, he'll be back to Liverpool at the end of the season'. Call me old fashioned but I would be delighted to see 11 Rovers fans in our match day side. -

Sutton was a top class centre half, a very clever and brave centre forward and if I remember correctly he won the game at Ewood for Celtic by playing a deeper midfield role and nullifying Tugay. He certainly played all over the pitch at Celtic, who were a good team and played in the champions league back then. In all of those positions he was as good as anyone else at the club (with the possible exception of Shearer up front) and wasn't put there in a crisis as such. Very very rarely is anyone that versatile. Its not like chucking big Samba up top for the last ten minutes when we were getting beat, for example. Sutton also scored a century with the bat in a charity cricket game while at Rovers. 😲 I bet the other lads hated him at school. -

At least we'd have a stable back four. -
It looked a good finish but in reality he did what he always does, he just put his laces through it. By the way I'm not knocking the lad but he's not a composed finisher in the way that -say -Ian Rush or Thierry Henry were. If all he ever does is smash it in those situations he'll miss more than he'll score at that level.

Donna started at Blackburn Council at the same time as me and she’s the same age too. Sad to hear she’s passed away at such a relatively young age. RIP
