2021/22 Pre-Season
oldjamfan1 replied to Admiral Nelsen's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I understand the point you are making but that’s a stretch to be honest. Kaminski, Nyambe, Lenihan, Ayala, Pickering and Davenport are all better than League 2. If we could guarantee that 11 started every game in the championship we would probably be mid table. -

But I thought Scotland had won the euros? Wonder what their open top bus parade was all about then? 😂

The sad story of Keith Treacy
oldjamfan1 replied to Paul Mellelieu's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Reading some of these relationship/custody situations is quite upsetting to be honest. There doesn’t need to have been alcohol or addiction involved either. In my situation being a ‘bad husband’ was confluted with being a bad father by my ex wife, which is unforgivable and unfair. My lads are 32 and 27 now and there are still difficulties. Thank God for the Rovers 😂😱💙🤍 -

I don't think those are genuine to be honest. I have no facts or evidence to back this up, but it just looks like something someone has done on their computer to me. -

Sorry to hear this mate. My older brother was an alcoholic from being a teenager to his death at just 41. The effect on the rest of the family, not least my parents, was devastating. As you say, its a dreadful illness and may I also say a thin line that many of us tread.- 47 replies

Fan-Led Review of Football Ownership
oldjamfan1 replied to We Are The Rovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I managed to get an early sight of the interim report from this review and I think it is fair to say that Tracey Crouch and the panel have listened to the evidence put forward very carefully and some of the draft recommendations do address some of the specific points made in the Rovers Trust submission. I understand the interim report will be available today, and when it is I will post details here. Edit: here it is https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fan-led-review-of-football-governance-interim-findings-and-recommendations -

Its a good idea on the face of it.....however would this mean that Brereton er I mean Diaz is guaranteed selection under these circumstances? -

Stumbled across this just now - it sounds more like John Lennon than John Lennon himself! -

I work in a sector that could be described in these terms. Many years ago I was running a conference where one of the speakers had given backword at the 11th hour and we had an hour-long plenary session to fill. So we quickly came up with a fun event that we called 'Mock the Geek', which was loosely based on housing knowledge (it was a social housing conference) with two hastily press-ganged teams of housing professionals and me being the quiz master and MC. One of the panelists was an ex boss of mine, a woman in her 50s and a right pain in the arse tbh. She hadn't changed much and was not really getting into the spirit of the session and as I wandered over to another one of my ex colleagues on the front row who had also endured her as a boss and said to him "I see she hasn't discovered HRT yet then" I realised within a nanosecond that I hadn't muted my lapel mic and the whole audience heard it. Cue the tumbleweed with about 300 stern - nay vicious - middle aged female faces staring up at me (including my then wife lol) and for years afterwards whenever anyone had any sort of embarrassing moment at that organisation it was described as their 'HRT moment'....... -
I hope the move goes better for Al Davies than it did for the last local sports star that decided he'd be better off joining Birmingham rather than remaining with his home club.

Yes. At Kilmarnock with the lying lip-licking Scottish crook at the helm, despite us winning the game either 4-1 or 5-1. -

RIP Ironman George Curtis, also 81, who captained Coventry and was joint manager for their historic 1987 FA Cup Final win.

RIP Tom O’Connor who has died at the age of 81. He was a mainstay of TV in the 80s. By the standards of the day a very gentle comedian.
