  1. The Elgins - Heaven Must Have Sent You
  2. Brook Benton - Rainy Night in Georgia
  3. The Big Time. The guy was called Lol Cottrell, a decent amateur but well out of his depth. Tommy Smith took him under his wing for that programme as i recall.
  4. The Clash - Train In Vain
  5. He was always struggling after that. Johnson will be a worthy champion. Edit - even a first round 66 from Rory rather than a 75 would have only had him level with DJ so quite a dominant performance from the big man all round I would say.
  6. Me and my sons met Ray in Alcudia in 2003 and it was like chatting to an old pal talking to him about football. Lovely man and we also shared flights with John Robertson of Forest and Scotland on the same holiday and when we told Ray this he said “Please pass on my regards to him and his family if you’re on the same flight back”, which we were and we did. Sad day ?
  7. Paul Weller - 7 & 3 Is The Striker’s Name
  8. Getting interesting in Augusta now.....
  9. Speedie would grab a game by the scruff of its neck on many an occasion. Scottie was superb on his day but a bit inconsistent. I know which of them I would pick first.
  10. Oops, simultaneous posts there windy Toyah - It’s a Mystery
  11. Neil Young - After the Goldrush
  12. Let's not forget that this is a team that grew up in a warzone in the 1990s. But they were still able to draw with Serbia.
  13. The Beautiful South - Everybody’s Talkin’
  14. Neil Young - On the Beach
  15. Bettye Swann - Make Me Yours
  16. Well last night’s result makes next year’s Euros a bit more interesting, particularly for the likes of me that lives in Scotland!
  17. Covid-19 has at least removed Peter Sutcliffe (aka The Yorkshire Ripper) from this life. If there is a Hell, he will surely be in there now.
  18. David Bowie - John, I’m Only Dancing
  19. Elvis and Weller easily the best two British artists to emerge from the ‘punk’ era. Some might add Sting as a third one but he’s not in the same league as them for consistently churning out quality records and gigs.
  20. Blur - Pressure On Julian
  21. As Peter Allis would say, he made a right Horlicks of it
  22. I'm looking forward to seeing what DeChambeau does on the 13th!
  23. And funnily enough I jumped on stage with the band at my wedding to sing Free Nelson Mandela. A few months later my phone at home rang. It was my mate Paddy (God rest his soul). He said "Quick, turn BBC2 on!". I did as asked to see Mandela start his long walk to freedom. Paddy said "They are only letting him out so you won't sing that fucking song again!" The Beatles - Free as a Bird
  24. Ricky Nelson - Travelin' Man
