  1. I'd rather play a relegated team first than a promoted one. I think the Wycombe home game is trickier than the Bournemouth away one tbh. It will take them some time to adjust to the championship, whereas Wycombe will be well organised and up for it. Not aimed at you Admiral but there's a lot of doom and gloom around this morning.

  3. Smokie - Living Next Door to Alice
  4. The Style Council - Boy Who Cried Wolf
  5. I don't want to be argumentative either but he didn't really play 'up front' in the sense that he was a wider player. Granted he should still be scoring far post headers when the play is on the other wing. I'm not really a big lover of stats; I'd rather use the evidence of my own eyes and while he only ever scored a handful of headed goals his heading stats generally are miles better than most wingers. He was strong in the air if not a prolific scorer of headed goals.
  6. The Bay City Rollers - Bye Bye Baby
  7. He was no Shearer but as wingers go he was one of the better headers of the ball. And you would have expected him to score that one in the semi final. I would have backed myself to score it perhaps 7 or 8 times out of 10 and I was only a decent amateur player.
  8. Aye I'm sure he does have the odd nightmare about it. Sometimes these things are inexplicable. I remember Steve Davis missing that black in the world snooker final, the one that he would have potted 99 times out of 100, to allow Dennis Taylor back to the table. It was a similar moment.
  9. The Jam - In the City Where it all started for an 18 year old Paul Weller
  10. Aye it was a real sliding door moment that alright. I don't hold it against the lad though, he did some great things for us as well, not least on that very ground against the red rags!
  11. I was right behind that goal and to this day I have no idea how he managed to miss it. The irony was Morten was generally a pretty good header of a ball, especially for a winger.
  12. Exactly my first thought when i saw that report. It also explains why there are some pretty average keepers in the championship.
  13. Great post. Your dad was a very lucky man to have seen so many great players pull on our famous jersey. Keep the faith mate.
  14. This one in particular sent a shiver down my spine Stuart
  15. My mate up here in Scotland is a massive Beatles fan. He comes from Dumfries and is always banging on about how jealous he is that "your home town is in a Beatles song". As I keep telling him, they may have played a gig in Darwen but to my knowledge it doesn't actually feature in any of their lyrics...... Michael Jackson - One Day In Your Life
  16. Cliff Richard - We Don’t Talk Anymore
  17. I think this is why I was getting confused as I knew I'd watched both of those games from the Riverside. Getting old is a privilege but frustrating at times
  18. Blimey, I didn't realise that. I was at every home game that season as well as I had done my ACI and couldn't play. I was always on the Blackburn End.
  19. Would we have been in the Darwen End for that one though?
  20. Elvis Costello - My Funny Valentine
  21. Paul Weller - Above the Clouds
  22. Johnny Nash - Tears On My Pillow
  23. Crowded House - Fall at Your Feet
  24. Tex Ritter - Deck of Cards (sorry ?)
