  1. And now three babys.... Secret Affair - Time For Action
  2. Good thread! In terms of what the rest of the football world must have thought of us, for me it is Shearer getting booed on his return. For what he did for us he should have received a ten minute standing ovation. That incident showed a lack of class that I have never seen anywhere else. I can’t honestly remember another club’s fans booing an ex superstar on his return. No doubt someone will provide an example (maybe Michael Owen at Anfield for United?) but this guy was a major reason why our dreams came true in 1995. Embarrassing defeats etc have happened to everyone at various points in their history, so Rovers are no different on that score. Post Venkys - well I wouldn’t know where to start!

  9. The proof of the pudding has always been, is always, and always will be what they do on the pitch. Could anyone imagine the likes of Howard Gayle or David Speedie grinning like a Cheshire Cat straight after a chastening performance and defeat like the one we suffered at Loftus Road? And anyone else in their squad doing likewise would have got a boot up the arse for their troubles, I'm sure. Edit: Great minds Tyrone!

  12. I don't think too many Scots see it like that mate to be honest. And had it been England on the receiving end of that scoreline the jocks would have been all over us (which is the real point here to be honest). They had street parties in Glasgow when England lost the football world cup semi final last year (no kidding, they really did!)
  13. As an Englishman living in Scotland it doesn't get any better than this..... Scotland threaten legal action against World Rugby for being forced to humiliate themselves against Japan https://newsthump.com/2019/10/13/scotland-threaten-legal-action-against-world-rugby-for-being-forced-to-humiliate-themselves-against-japan/?fbclid=IwAR1RCmqahu7R_OviFrAOmQkKQhDQFjtzNxfSiN_rFfNheB7QatihF8PkpME
  14. While its difficult to argue with this in theory, in practice some of the biggest profits on player trading made since Venkys pitched up have surely been on defenders? (Off the top of my head Jones, Hanley, Dann and Duffy spring to mind). Venkys must take the blame for many of the things wrong with our club, but I cannot see them sanctioning a budget 'for strikers only', which was the gist of what my response was to. I'm afraid Mowbray is the culprit (for want of a better word) for spunking our transfer and wages budget on dross strikers when he had promised us defenders. And its about time someone called him out on it.
  15. The Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows
  16. The Clash - Gates of the West
  17. Funny how we all see different things. Henderson would be one of the first names on the team sheet for me. Can understand why you don’t rate him though.
  18. I cannot for the life of me think of a reason why the owners would restrict spending on defenders. This is 100% down to Mowbray speaking with a forked tongue.
  19. A sniff at the premier league? Aye okay mate. If Duff left Celtic of his own accord to come to Ewood under Venky ownership I would bare my arse on the town hall steps
  20. Bit prickly today chaddy!? If you mention Duff as someone you would like to see coming to Rovers people are going to question why he would consider that when he currently works in a senior coaching capacity at the club he has supported his whole life. Nobody is attacking you, just pointing out a pitfall or potential stumbling block in the name you have put forward (granted you weren't the only one to name Duffer). You don't half take things personally.
  21. Sam and Dave - Hold On, I'm Coming
  22. He was/is. I don't think everyone realises just what a huge club that is - Duffer has his dream job there at the minute working with John Kennedy. I think they'll do well together at Celtic and could be the next Clough/Taylor if and when Lennon presses the self destruct button. Duff remains the best left winger I've ever seen in a Rovers shirt.
  23. Why would Damian Duff leave Celtic to come here? Never gonna happen mate.
  24. Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel - Mr Soft
  25. The Zombies - Care for Cell 44
