  1. Couldn’t agree more Tony.
  2. He’s not just an ex Celtic player, he’s a ‘Celtic man’. Two totally different things. I think the modern description is ‘Celtic minded’. i’ve spoken to Charlie often enough to know he would never consider joining Rangers.
  3. Was just talking about this tune with my partner last night Mark (she’s a musician) - it was the theme to Van der Valk wasn’t it? Anyway back to the game. Blur - Parklife
  4. If ever a post managed to put things into perspective it is this one. Andy and Gary would be proud to read this adopted scouser. Sorry for your loss and RIP Andy.
  5. Take a bow mate, made me laugh on an otherwise depressing Saturday evening.
  6. The “blazing argument” part of this is entirely believable - things like that happen on training grounds every day. The “wanted to go to Rangers” part of it is pure invention I’m afraid.
  7. I have a feeling this thread will be busy over the next couple of hours.....
  8. Been on Lindisfarne today as it happens! Paul Weller - Old Castles
  9. Bloody hell not another one ? RiP
  10. The Jam - Man in the Corner Shop
  11. The Jam - But I’m Different Now
  12. You’re having an extremely good day today friend - your cricket and Brexit posts have been well constructed and rational. ? Edit: Re-reading this post it might seem patronising but it isn’t meant to be - I was quick to criticise your recent negative posts about the England cricket team so I though I should also acknowledge the fact that you have put forward a sensible and balanced view this time.
  13. I thought the Aussies batted on for at least half an hour too long today. I think they are still slight favourites with the draw the second most likely result. Pretty flat pitch so a lot rests on Nathan Lyon. Excellent test match so far.
  14. First Lancs game this season I have actually watched (albeit on sky) and at 10 for 3 or whatever we were I thought I had jinxed it but what a brilliant last 15 overs that was. Patel and Hales had everything under control and it looked like it was going to be a procession. So well done Lancs and especially Vilas and our Aussies. Speaking of which I cannot wait for today’s Ashes resumption!
  15. The Beatles - Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?
  16. So was I but mine was in 1978. Little did I know then that two of that Liverpool side would go on to win things as manager of The Rovers
  17. I would agree on the Ronaldo part of it certainly Stuart, a good shout that and I was guilty of not even considering him. I never saw Matthews but my dad said Finney and Douglas were better than him and that’s good enough for me.
  18. The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses
  19. The Who - Out in the Street
  20. Australia do it on a regular basis against all comers - in fact I would say they are renowned for it.
