  1. David Bowie - Let's Dance
  2. William Bell - Born Under a Bad Sign
  3. I may be wrong here but I don't recall Ian Rush being a particularly good header of a ball?
  4. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Free Fallin'
  5. Sad news coming out of Scotland today. Billy McNeill, legendary Celtic captain and the first Briton to lift the European Cup, has passed away after a long illness. Given everything he achieved in the game, he remained a really humble, down-to-earth man. The word legend is often overused these days, but 'Cesar' was a genuine legend. A sad day for Celtic and football in general. RIP Cesar
  6. Prefab Sprout - Machine Gun Ibiza https://youtu.be/f5c2v4bL9vI
  7. Spot on Mark. I was also on the riverside in their promotion game - Frank Worthington was unbelievable that night. And I would agree that there were more of them than us. Plenty of aggro in Darwen before and after that one!
  8. I think Stuart nailed it earlier when he suggested Big Sam
  9. Great memories there Tony. I attended that ‘Faz’ game with the aforementioned Mark Patterson and we both came under attack, along with many other Darwen Blues, on a number 225 Ribble bus at Bolton bus station. Some poor kid ended up losing an eye during that particular ambush. It always struck me as odd that Patty ended up playing for them! Colin Hendry and Per Frandsen were another couple of lads that played for both clubs. And who could forget Jason Lowe!? Edit - was Jason McAteer another or am I imagining that one?
  10. They are checking hands on the way in. Six fingers to the left, five fingers to the right. With the additional belt and braces approach of a tooth count.
  11. Steve Clarke if Lennon gets the Celtic job is what I hear
  12. One of my colleagues tipped me off that McLeish would be gone by the end of today so I had a look to see if I could put a sneaky few quid on it. The book was closed and sure enough he has gone, and rightly so!
  13. Think they were mentioned in the OP Tony Are you blind, ref?? ?
  14. Other player links off the top of my head: Simon Barker was a top, top player for both clubs in the 80s and 90s. Roy Wegerle DJ Campbell Ryan Nelsen Darren Peacock Danny Simpson And Gareth Ainsworth is a Blackburn lad who played many games for QPR as well.
  15. Art of Noise - Nothing Was Going to Stop Them Then, Anyway
  16. Julian Cope - The Greatness and Perfection of Love
  17. The Undertones - Kiss in the Dark
  18. Apologies if this has been posted before but I only discovered this recently - there are some brilliant Rovers related quizzes on the Sporcle website, in my opinion none better than this one, where you have to name the most used eleven players of every season in the 1980s and 1990s. Very frustrating.... https://www.sporcle.com/games/culverhouse/top-xis-blackburn-1980s-1990s-copy
  19. Everything But The Girl - Cross My Heart
  20. From one of the best EPs of all time that one mate. The Belle Stars - Sign of the Times
  21. Try again mate - great song but was used directly before mine
  22. If You Think You're Groovy - PP Arnold Here's me with the lovely lady herself last year
  23. Thanks mate. Music is obviously very subjective but as someone with (I hope) eclectic tastes I do enjoy introducing songs and musicians to people for the first time. I too enjoy receiving them. I heard a couple of Joni Mitchell songs for the first time the other week and thought "How on earth have I not heard these before!?". Enjoy!
  24. A song I played just this very morning... Bill Withers - I Can't Write Left Handed
