  1. Was it not simply called Darwen Hi-Fi? The Style Council - Long Hot Summer
  2. Bad day at the office. Everybody needs to calm the heck down though. Learn lessons and move on.
  3. Ah the Cost of Living EP. One of The Clash's finest releases mate. I remember buying it from that record shop in Duckworth Street, must have been around the same time as Strange Town by The Jam. Anyway, back to the game: Los Bravos - Black is Black
  4. Most managers have a limited period of effectiveness at a club. I can only think of a handful in the near 50 years I've been watching the game who bucked that trend, and Sean Dyche is not fit to be mentioned in the same breath as those 'greats'. So it isn't really a matter of him having 'lost it' its more a case of he has taken it as far as he can. I look forward to us competing against each other again next season Longers.
  5. This may be controversial but I hope he stays - he’s had his time now for all the reasons put forward by other posters and the only way they can survive is to change!
  6. Little Johnny Price was my favourite player, along with Tony Field, when I was a kid. Always had his socks rolled down.
  7. One of our ex players - a mate of mine - was on his way to sign for them (not directly from us I hasten to add) when he was reminded rather forcibly by us - his pals - that they are the enemy. He signed for Bury instead.
  8. Spot on. And this is the reason why I wanted Burnley to beat Aberdeen. Living in Scotland it meant more to me that the English teams put the Scottish ones in their place. Cue that poster Dryhorse coming on here banging on about Scotland and Scottish football with the chip on his shoulder again (assuming he wasn't banned).
  9. PP Arnold and The Small Faces - If You Think You’re Groovy
  10. There was a clear insinuation in your post - and I wasn't the only person to pick up on it. To suggest that he 'only' signed 2 black players over such a long period of time as a manager is an odd thing to focus on don't you think. Especially when it is absolute bunkum. Without checking I would wager that Dalglish signed dozens upon dozens of black players in his career.
  11. It isn't. And let's not forget that unless I'm mistaken he took John Barnes to Celtic as manager as well, so any insinuation that King Kenny was racist is way out of line. They were simply different times.
  12. The Vapors - Turning Japanese
  13. When we signed Howie Gayle in the mid/late 80s I thought he was a flash scouse git living on the reputation of one game in a European Cup semi final who would spoil what was a decent team spirit at Ewood at the time. I couldn’t have been more wrong about the fella.
  14. Muddy Waters - Mannish Boy
  15. Their third - we played them two seasons ago
  16. Big Audio Dynamite - Medicine Show
  17. Whatever else has gone on with this lad, he is anything but a 'bad footballer'.
  18. That's a helluva record. The never-say-die attitude was fully evident last night. Great to see and it felt like a win.
  19. The Lurkers - Out in the Dark
  20. I don't disagree with you but the fact of the matter is we have kept clean sheets in two of our four league games already. Fans of plenty of other clubs would be delighted with that, defensively. Not taking gilt-edged chances has arguably cost us more points than conceding too many goals. We should have won all four league games so far.
  21. He would have been one of the first, certainly. Franz Carr played before him (whether he played for the first team I'm not sure but he certainly wore the colours) and Howie Gayle was around about the same time. Can't readily think of too many black players that preceded them.
