  2. RIP John Savident, who played Fred Elliott in Corrie for many years.
  3. RIP Paul. Its striking to note how many of the players on those photos are no longer with us, and it doesn't seem that long ago either 😞

  10. I'm happy enough with the short term approach from Eustace, and it will be interesting to see how he develops things once we've assured safety (which we will). An earlier poster said he reminds them of Mark Hughes - I hope they are right. One of Sparky's first home games - it might even have been his very first one - was a miserable, turgid, 4-0 defeat to Boro where Tugay got sent off and the players looked like they had never kicked a ball in anger before . One can only imagine what would have been posted on here about that period but things worked out rather well in the end.

  14. Yeah this sums it up for me really. I agree with Gav that I prefer this team to that one that lost in WI, but they got themselves into a fabulous position where they didn't need to take risks in this last test. Lots of mistakes were made but we simply needed to bat long, partly to score enough runs, but also to give the bowlers a rest. It took a special sort of idiocy to lose that heavily from that position. And don't get me started on that crazy declaration at Edgbaston last year that, in my opinion, cost us the Ashes. Our best batter was still at the crease and we had less than 400 on the board FFS! So, in summary we need to retain a bit of pragmatism at times, hand-in-hand with the aggressive stuff.
  15. Best wishes to Mogga. He's had some tough times away from football, I do hope the treatment has come early enough for him.

  19. 450, although feels like a lot of runs, is probably a par score. You can still get 5/1 for the draw in this match and that looks like good value to me.
  20. A bit late to the party with this one but sad to hear of the untimely death of the BBC Radio DJ Steve Wright. Sounds like he died suddenly at home. I know he had piled on the pounds in recent years so one can only speculate that it was a heart attack or stroke. He was a master at his craft, that's for sure. RIP.
  21. Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison - Argyle Street
  22. Ah we've all told the same story mate ha ha. My brother-in-law actually used to coach Kean at Celtic youth level. He says he wasn't particularly good. No surprise there then eh?
  23. It’s genuinely hard to tell on here at times, especially during a game…
